Yes, there is no support for multiple separate MIDI and audio tracks going into and out of the same plug-in.

Prior to patch points, this was the only way to send audio to multiple tracks without an external loopback. All plug-ins in an FX rack and ProChannel send data in series from the top to the bottom (cf. signal flow diagram) out to the audio track.

Instrument tracks are not a basic track type. They are a presentation of a MIDI+audio track pair. Any number of MIDI tracks may send data to a plug-in capable of receiving data. Any number of tracks may receive MIDI data from plug-ins capable of sending data. As long as it does not create a feedback loop, any number of auto tracks/buses may send data to another audio track or bus. CbB does not support routing audio track outputs directly to plug-in audio inputs. For plug-ins to affect audio data they must reside in an audio FX rack or ProChannel.

That's a pretty good solution. One thing to consider is adding quick mix of the original project for reference.

By default, all project templates bundled with CbB have a master bus. The only distinguishing feature of the master bus is, by default, all audio tracks and buses created after the master bus is designated, automatically have their output routed to it. To designate a bus as the master bus, in the track view bus pane, right-click on the bus header and select "Set as Default Bus" then rename as desired. To bulk change all existing audio tracks to route to the new master bus, select them, hold down the CTRL key and select the new master bus from one of the track outputs; repeat for the buses.

32bit DX plugins do not load in 64bit hosts. In fact, the part of the registry where 32bit DX plug-ins are registered is not read by 64bit hosts.

To record to the D drive change Preferences > File > Folder Locations "Project Files" to a folder on the D drive and change Preferences > File > Audio Folder "Global Audio Folder" to a folder on the D drive. It can be under the "Project Files" folder if you wish just like it is on the C drive. There is no paid version. The software is free.

Sorry, I don't see how it was possible to follow the suggested copy process in my previous post without generating an error. Copy/paste requires the clips in the clipboard to be the target project's sample rate. Exporting the bun contents may be the easiest solution (it is the documented method too) either tracks or BWF.

Region effects are per-clip. If a clip has a region FX enabled there would be an RFX graphic in the top right corner of the clip. By default, ghost data is enabled. If there is track or clip automation, the envelopes are slightly visible and in the case of track automation the track automation lanes button is illuminated.

Are the project folders compressed? If disk space gets too low the OS may automatically compress folders.

When Cakewalk was shutdown, Don't Crack offered a discount to Platinum owners for the unlocked version of the Blue Tubes bundle. IIRC, recent public sales have been even more aggressively prices. Don't Crash puts them on sale regularly.

Here is an image of my plug-in browser layout menu It is accessed by clicking the triangle in the plugins tab. The 3 "Sort by" layouts are built on the fly using enabled plug-ins shown in plug-in manager. The "Sort by" layouts for effects show all DX, VST2 and VST3 effect plug-ins. The "Sort by" layouts for synths show all the DX, VST2 and VST3 synth plug-ins. Custom layouts show only what the user adds to the layout. Do not mix effects and synths in the same custom layout. When using "Sort by Catetory" some plug-ins may appear in unexpected categories or in the Uncategorized folder. Using the search feature in the browser may help locate these plug-ins.

Unless a product is made by BandLab, it will not be updated. BandLab will definitely not be updating 3rd party plug-ins like the Blue Tubes bundled. That task is up the owners of Nomad, Don't Crack. BandLab supports the products they manufacturer. BandLab may release more of the legacy Cakewalk products, but they seem to be pretty busy with DAW development.
