Easy to reproduce crash (selectively copy/move MIDI)
scook replied to sreams's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Try the 2022.02 EA release From the EA post If the copy still fails, post in the EA thread. -
It should. I have no experience with USB microphones. The last time I used onboard audio was over 20 years ago.
-
Try deselecting all I/O devices first.

One way to remove the data is delete the events from the Event List view Another uses the MFX MIDI Event Filter to exclude CC7. Add the plug-in to the MIDI FX rack Select the track Process > Apply Effect > MIDI Effects Another way is using Edit > Select > By Filter
-
No, only MIDI data. Automation will have to be copied like the audio. Freezing may be an option too. Start with a copy of the project, freeze the tracks, bounce and archive the buses until the project is all audio.
-
Save as a MIDI file, then open the file, add the plug-ins and copy the audio tracks from the old project.

Reference Guide PDF now available [Updated 4-Jan-2022]
scook replied to Morten Saether's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The pdf was never integrated into SONAR. SONAR included the help in chm format and used it whenever the internet was unavailable or set to use local help. Adding the pdf to the Utilities menu is easy though. The Tools Editor in CbB Tools can add almost anything to the Utilities menu. There is an image of how-to setup the reference guide in the CbB Tools readme. -
strange problems with VST plugin instruments
scook replied to KSband's topic in Instruments & Effects
Remember "Zero Controllers When Transport Stops" is a per-project setting. To change this setting in all future projects, change project templates. -
East West problem w/ playback of controller events
scook replied to willard cottrell's topic in Instruments & Effects
Zero Controller When Play Stops is in Preferences > Project > MIDI -
Was this a clean install? If not, try a full re-personalization. To do this, right-click on the Cakewalk program icon and while holding down the CTRL key, click open on the context menu. This dialog should appear Clicking OK will restore files in "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core" and reset a couple of registry entries back to factory settings.

themes All M-Themes and Splash Screens Pack (Updated for 2021.12)
scook replied to Matthew White's topic in UI Themes
This is one reason to install using defaults then relocate data using directory junctions. -
VST2 presets should show up in Cakewalk preset manager in the plug-in standard header. VST3 presets should be in your "Documents\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance\bx_console SSL 9000 J"

Why is cakewalk ignoring my automated envelopes?
scook replied to TVR PRODUCTIONS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It appears read automation (the R! button) is turned off in the Mix module . -
Right-click the envelope to change the curve. For info about the curve types see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.11.html#1158748

All tracks in CbB record whatever signal is at their input. An aux track is an audio track with a patch point as its input. The patch point used for the aux track input receives data from other tracks sending to the patch point.
-
Effects cannot be recorded in real time in the track where the FX reside, but they may be recorded in real time by sending the data to an aux track.

Audio in VCV Rack is routed to BC connector plug-ins hosted in VCV rack. I am using VCV rack as my example because it can handle multiple MIDI and audio i/o connections and is a VST host too. I do not have Maschine. The BC connectors in VCV Rack send data to other instances of BC connector in FX racks in other tracks, not to the track input. Placed at the top of the FX rack this works effectively as the track input. BC connector works in any VST host and can send or received audio and MIDI data to other instances of BC Connector either in the same app, a different app or across a LAN. Maschine would not need VCV Rack to do this, Maschine needs to host instances of BC connector to handle the audio routing not available in CbB, There is a demo of BC connector at the link provided above.
-
FWIW, I am able to route multiple audio tracks out of VCV Rack 2 Pro FX using the Host-XL module and Blue Cat's Connector If the Maschine hosts VSTs, it should be able to do the same.

The Cakewalk onboarding process runs one time when the DAW is first installed. It may be re-run from Help > Getting Started. Uninstalling/Reinstalling Cakewalk does to remove registry entries. This requires a clean install. A clean install automatically runs the onboarding process because its registry entry is set to run. Be aware, step 9 of the clean install process deletes all the contents of the default Cakewalk VST folder including any third-party programs installed there.
