  1. It could be a bad plug-in layout make sure you are using one of the default "Sort by" plug-in layouts
  2. Could be the PAUSE/BREAK key - see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Troubleshooting.32.html
  3. Unless you use 32bit plug-ins BitBridge does not matter at all. I doubt the MIDI prepare buffer is the issue. Usually this is an audio buffer not getting flushed until the transport starts up again. It is normally buffered effects like delays and reverbs. Of course, many synths have those effects built-in.

    Video editing

Get a video editor. Cakewalk cannot edit video. It displays video and the associated audio track(s) for audio editing only.
  5. Could it be plug-in specific? The problem of some effects plug-ins buffers not flushing is not new. It goes back decades. Not sure this is the same as the OP. Their problem may be driver related. Another reason SONAR and Cakewalk hang during shutdown is plug-in related though. Some plug-ins get stuck in memory. This is most often caused by 32bit plug-ins loaded in BitBridge but not always.
  6. Maybe, all of the plug-ins in that image are not part of CbB but were bundled with some versions of SONAR.
  7. Did you have an active user account on the old Cakewalk site? Or are you trying to install DP and DPLE from disks purchased around the time of SONAR 7?
  8. Just tested AutoGainPro v1.2.3 using the process described above. The VST3 does not record automation The VST2 does. I am not aware of a threshold setting in CbB.
  9. Just verified the link this KB article. https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013364/Setting-up-a-Drum-Map-for-Addictive-Drums-2-in-SONAR
  10. @Noel Borthwick I got the impression from another post these may be FX Chains. IIRC, some of the bundled FX Chains reference plug-ins not included with CbB.
  11. I don't use ASIO4All but I know there is setup software that comes with it. Here is the documentation for it http://index-of.co.uk/Audio/ASIO4ALL v2 Instruction Manual.pdf
  12. I am pretty sure some of FX Chains bundled with CbB depend on plug-ins that are not included with the product. They were built using SONAR and many of the plug-ins bundled with SONAR are not included with CbB.
  13. Orphaned envelopes used to be more common.
  14. With input echo enabled (the button to the right of the record button in each track) the input signal can be heard with effects. Depending on the mixing latency and plug-ins used there may be a noticeable delay. Also tracks always record the input signal only.
  15. Very few plug-ins ship with CbB. Specific plug-in names may be helpful.
  16. Try SHIFT+click on the envelope to select then right-click for the context menu.
  17. ASIO4All may be aggregating the PC sound chip with the UM2. Go into the ASIO4All software and disable input from the sound chip.
  18. @msmcleod may be able to help with the control surface issue
  19. Don't believe so. Then I usually close all the plug-in windows before leaving a project. I was using a mouse and the plug-in UI to select patches. Don't use a control surface either. There may be excessive chatter between the controller and the DAW. It may be a bug in the control surface interface or something originating in the controller. MIDI-OX will let you inspect the MIDI data stream.
  20. Is Always Stream Audio Through FX enabled? This should help flush plug-in buffers when the transport is stopped.
  21. By default it is the PLUS key above the typewriter keys http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=KeyboardShortcuts.html#1306571
  22. This error is usually the result of the tool (Audition in this case) being set up to run as administrator but the DAW is not. Windows does not allow this. Both programs must run with the same permissions. It does not matter that the program is 32bit.
  23. The 32/64 Bit drop down tells the Tools Editor to work in the 32 or 64bit area of the registry. CbB is a 64bit DAW so this drop down should be set to 64.
  24. Deleting an automation lane does not delete the automation envelope. To delete an envelope, right-click the envelope and select Delete from the context menu. For more info see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.11.html#1154521
