  1. Can you export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory and upload it here or put it on Google drive or other host?
  2. It goes in a MIDI track's FX Rack. To access the MIDI FX Rack in an instrument track use the MIDI tab in the track's inspector
  3. I also have a master Library.db with a 5 Dec 2016 modified date.
  4. Fine by me. I prefer to find out the true cause of a problem if possible. AFAIK, all plug-ins of the same format are treated the same. The email link I provided above will get you a case number.
  5. So, the audio out of the Yamaha VL1m tone generator is connected to audio input(s) on the Tascam interface and the audio channel(s) of the Tascam interface are setup as inputs to an audio track in Cakewalk, the audio track is armed for recording but nothing gets recorded.
  6. Many of the SONAR plug-ins are DX format. There are a few VSTs such as Channel Tools, the LP-64 EQ and Multiband, z3ta+, Studio Instruments. Why the Cakewalk VST2 plug-ins should show up and other manufacturers do not is odd. Running uninstall from BandLab Assistant and reinstalling CbB may be worth trying. Or a rollback and roll forward. Rollback installer is in this post
  7. X1 and CbB use different MS runtime libraries. Maybe the newer ones got trashed. Links to libraries are in this post
  8. The is an entire folder virtual B3 programs. The graphic is for those programs only. For others look at the MIDI Matrix. The setup for the UI in the virtual B3 programs is in "Virtual B3.sfz" Search the DP multisample folder for the file. Should be able to cripple all the programs by modifying this sfz. Keep a safety copy of the original sfz just in case.
  9. Is X1 installed on the same drive as CbB? I don't have X1 installed but I do know that it stores its VST Inventory separate from CbB. There is more data in CbB but I believe most of the info is the same. The CbB VST Inventory is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory The 64bit X1 Producer VST Inventory is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64 Other versions of X1 will have a similar path When installed on the same machine both SONAR and CbB use the same scanner.
  10. Do you have custom layouts? If so, are they listed under Plug-in Layouts in this menu? Also check effects if you created custom layouts for them.
  11. I am running out of ideas It might be time to email support@cakewalk.com Working in Preferences > File > VST settings Remove everything except one scan path and run a reset If it does not show up in the "Sort by Categories" try different paths one at a time running reset each time If it does show up in "Sort by Categories" add another path to the scan path and run a manual scan
  12. Try inserting a ProChannel Module - here is how http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=ProChannel.02.html
  13. Is the PC modules menu populated?
  14. Is any part of the drive compressed?
  15. Is your user folder compressed?
  16. feel free to rename the database just like the ini files, the database gets recreated if CbB does not find it.
  17. It can get corrupted but usually the program will say so. Library.db is a SQLite database and holds the category info Removing/renaming the database causes the program to create a new database with the default categories in it. Does the main VstScan.log indicate the scan ran to completion?
  18. That is an individual sandbox log. There should be a main VstScan.log too.
  19. BandLab Assistant still sees the registry entries. Removing the Cakewalk registry entries should restore BA's ability to install CbB again. From the Clean install instructions

    Language

    Depends on the version SONAR
  21. The "Sort by" layouts are built on the fly from the registry. CbB does build temporary layouts for the "Sort by" layouts. They are stored in the plug-in layout folder. The default location is %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Plug-in Menu Layouts. The path is specified in Preferences > File > Folder Locations. After the reset did the message appear saying it created a log? If so, make sure you are looking at the current scan log. Does it indicate it ran to completion? What paths are in the scan path? What version of CbB are your using? What version of the VST scanner? The default path to the Vstscan.exe is C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities
  22. BandLab Technologies has several commercial ventures. Click the product logos near the bottom of this page for info about them.
  23. This is useful. Was the scan log a result of a VST reset? If not, run a VST reset from Preferences with "Generate Scan Log" enabled.
