  1. Start by providing details about your hardware and operating system
  2. Move the Buffer Size slider in the Mixing Latency section to the right
  3. There is no need to uninstall anything. Run an advanced install of 64bit X2 or older (the advanced option is a couple of screens into the install) then select the VC64 and LP64 from the plug-in pick list provided by the installer.
  4. In the past this was not possible because a DAW could not change the ASIO buffer size. To change buffer size required using a ASIO client supplied by the driver manufacturer. Recently this has changed and starting with 2019.11 CbB supports sending buffer size requests to the driver. Unfortunately not all ASIO driver manufacturers support this feature.
  5. Everything in the image shows the project and interface are running at 96kHz Since there is no audio in the project change the sample rate in preference screen shown in the image to 48kHz and the project will change to 48kHz automatically. Make sure the interface is running at the same sample rate. Then see what happens.,
  6. This is not necessarily good advice. A manufacturer supplied ASIO driver usually is the best solution for low latency performance. Also some manufacturers go to a lot of effort to optimize their ASIO drivers sometimes at the expense of neglecting other drivers. ASIO4All is not an audio driver, it is a wrapper for WDM drivers representing them as ASIO drivers to the few Windows programs that support ASIO such as professional audio and video programs. Like all generic ASIO "drivers" it often conflicts with manufacturer supplied ASIO drivers and IMO should be considered as a last resort after trying WASAPI modes in Win10 and WDM in older OSes. In most recording scenarios low latency is important. Mixing and mastering does not require low latency. In fact, many users who record using small ASIO buffer sizes for low latency often increase the buffer size considerably when mixing and mastering. There is no reason at all to use ASIO4All when mixing and mastering. The tiny advantage it may have when recording (as this is questionable) provides no benefit at all once recording is done. One thing to keep in mind when using the same audio device for Windows and Cakewalk is both must run at the same sample rate because the audio device only runs at one sample rate at a time.
  7. To perform a clean re-install of Cakewalk follow these instruction https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab Be aware that step 9 removes all the plug-ins installed in the default VST folder "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins" This includes any third party plug-ins you may have installed there. You will need to make adjustments to the documented process to conform to your custom install location.
  8. There are two ways in the Plug-in Manager users can control which plug-ins appear in the layouts custom layouts - show only the plug-ins the user adds to the layout in any order including nested folders. The downside is custom layouts must be manually maintained. excluding plug-ins - select a plug-in and click the "Exclude Plug-in" button. This prevents the plug-in from showing up in the "Sort by" plug-in lists.
  9. From the description above, the only audio device available to Cakewalk is the internal sound chip. If this is the case, select one of the WASAPI driver modes in preferences and select the RealTek audio input and output devices in preferences. The Casio is fine for a MIDI input device. Do not select anything for a MIDI output device. TTS-1 is the only soft synth in the core Cakewalk installer. It should work to get setup. Additional instrument are available from the "Install Add-ons..." option in the BA menu shown below
  10. The VST3 format is used for Region FX
  11. BA does not automatically install or reinstall any of the Add-ons. If an Add-on option is disabled it is because the registry contains a record in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Installers indicating the product has already been installed.
  12. Enable "Show Velocity on Selected Notes Only" in the PRV Notes menu then select the note(s) to change. Click the key on the PRV left to select an entire row .
  13. The choice of audio interface and plug-ins are the determiners of the delay heard when monitoring the signal being recorded through the DAW. The CPU may be part of the equation when running the audio interface at a high sample rate with a low buffer setting.
  14. This is expected in true stereo reverbs but the regular version of BREVERB2 bundled with CbB has independent dry and wet pan controls the PC version lacks. The pan controls in the plug-in UI are just below the Dry and Wet faders.
  15. A time-limited trial version of Melodyne is included with Cakewalk. Once the trial expires, the editor no longer works but a monophonic version of audio-to-MIDI and tempo detection still function. For the program to show up as a Region FX the VST3 format must be installed. You may be able to repair the installation instead of going through re-install. Try that first.
  16. Plug-ins should not be installed in ProgramData. AFAIK, no plug-ins install their by default. They might install support files in that area but the actual plug-ins never go there. Moving the folders may not be a good idea because both plug-ins use installers and may write install location data into the registry. Uninstall the plug-ins. Re-install them and pay close attention to where the VST portion of the plug-ins install. This may be modified to your existing scan path or at least a folder that is not hidden. Usually it will be somewhere in "C:\Program Files"
  17. Yes, the more info provided the better. Both of these work fine in CbB. Maybe some more details about where they were installed, the scan path in preferences and which instrument plug-in layout is used in CbB.
  18. If you cannot read the link, I will post the instructions here.
  19. May want to remove the email from your post Here is the Roland driver hack thread from the old forum http://forum.cakewalk.com/How-to-use-V700-win-8-driver-in-win-10-also-applies-to-some-other-Roland-drivers-m3206046.aspx
  20. I am not sure about this. IIRC, older versions of Audacity open wav files from the command line but newer versions apparently do not. At least, that is what I have been told. I have not messed with Audacity. That said, ANY program accepting a wav file as a command line argument may be integrated into the Tools section of the CbB Utility menu. AFAIK, this includes all dedicated audio editors. But it does not stop there. ANY file may be added to the Utility menu as well, as long as Windows knows what to do with it. For example, the User Reference pdf may be added and it will open based on its file association. The Tools Editor may be added, in fact the option is built into the program itself. I don't recommend posting the direct link to the tool because those links change with every release. The link to page where all the tools and other Cakewalk stuff are located does not change. This is the link I post https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eiVH_I1clbbRtWFh4-3Mo7HANjCxR8SwqHJtYXy19gw/pub . The utilities including the Tools Editor are about half way down the page. The Tools Editor help contains the link to the knowledge base article and posts in the old forum by @Noel Borthwick about the registry entries. They were the info I used to write the script.
  21. Ran the installer by hand instead of using Cakewalk Command Center? Here is the manual activation process
  22. Could be one or more plug-ins in demo mode.
  23. Based on user reports at least SONAR 8.5 though Platinum work on Win10. Based on personal experience Music Creator 7, SONAR X1 through Platinum work on Win10. My guess is several other older version of Music Creator, SONAR and other Cakewalk DAWs also work on Win10. It may help to know which versions of MC and SONAR you have. BandLab is a web-based DAW . There is another DAW made by BandLab called Cakewalk by BandLab. To open old Cakewalk projects use Cakewalk by BandLab. The instructions for using BandLab Assistant to install Cakewalk by BandLab are here.
  24. My guess is PA like other manufacturers of plug-ins for UAD hardware rely on UAD for preset management. Softube was like this for some time but have started adding preset managers to their native plug-ins.
