  1. The help menu has links to several pages in http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=toc.html A pdf version of the help is available here The web-based help is updated with every release. The pdf is updated less frequently.
  2. If you need the yamaha driver look for an update. If not uninstall it.
  3. The custom plug-in layouts are stored on disk in the folder specified in Plug-in Layouts preferences Make a copy of the folder and/or use different names to save the new layouts.
  4. "Do not intercept NRPNs" should work as long as it is enabled before the plug-in attempts to play any data. Once the offending data streams through the plug-in, the sfz engine is shut down for the session. The only way to reset the sfz engine is restart the project or reload the plug-in.
  5. WRT muting SI plug-ins see Crashing may be data related too but I can't say without working with the clips myself. The Event List View may help. Compare the clips with some that work.
  6. The gain knob and volume slider do the exact same thing at different places in the signal flow. Which one to use depends on where one wants to adjust the level. As noted above Cakewalk records the signal at its track inputs. Plug-ins added to a track come after the input. Understanding the signal flow is important.
  7. TTS-1 is a 16 in X 4 out synth. There are several ways to create a project with 1 instance of TTS-1 using all its I/O. After adding the synth to a project, add 15 additional MIDI tracks. Set the output of each track to TTS-1 and specify the MIDI channel in all the tracks. Now there are 16 channels set up, one for each TTS-1 input. Assign the instruments on each track (or in TTS-1 on each channel) as you have done in the past when using one track. If you want to send the 16 channels to more than one output add up to 3 more audio tracks set the inputs on the audio tracks to the additional TTS-1 outputs open TTS-1 and assign the channels in TTS-1 to the different outputs by clicking on System then Option like this

    is it normal?

File size is covered in the documentation http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=AudioPerformance.16.html But they don't both to document sample rates above 96kHz.

    is it normal?

Wav file size is easy to compute. The formula is sampleRate X bitDepth X numberOfChannels X runtime = fileSize Here is a decent web-based calculator https://www.colincrawley.com/audio-file-size-calculator/
  10. Is channel #2 on the interface input 3 right - is channel #4 and so on nothing, it is just how the inputs are reported to the DAW,
  11. see To reorder channel strips in http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Views.35.html
  12. I have not played with ASIO4All in a very long time. I did find a pdf for the software http://index-of.co.uk/Audio/ASIO4ALL v2 Instruction Manual.pdf Looks like it is done in the Advanced settings. Note the warning about timing and sync. This is an issue any time multiple devices are used that do not share a common clock.
  13. The ASIO specification calls for the host to use one I/O driver at a time. Cakewalk follows the ASIO spec when using ASIO driver mode. None of the other driver modes have this restriction. ASIO4All can aggregate devices because it uses WDM drivers, Another option may be

  15. In the Global area is a function called "Do Nothing: Use to block pre-defined accelerators" Try binding the key combination to this function.
  16. make sure "input echo", the button right of the track record button, is enabled
  17. If CbB is running a custom theme, it will need updating. See this thread
  18. This has been addressed with the update in this post
  19. None of those synths were ever bundled with CbB. Here is the list of synths bundled with CbB. To use old Cakewalk plug-ins, install the latest, most complete version of whatever Cakewalk product(s) you own (preferably 64bit versions) then install Cakewalk by BandLab. If the software had a downloadable installer, Cakewalk accounts created between 2014-2017 are still online. Support@cakewalk.com can help restore access to these accounts. Otherwise, you will need to use the original install media and activation codes that were provided when you purchased and registered the software.
  20. The Wheel Type is for the pitch wheel only and does not use the Value drop down. The Value is part of the description of the automation envelope not the the nodes on the envelope. The Control Type needs a Value to determine which continuous controller is being automated.
  21. Since pitch and mod wheel data are sent by the controller, they may be recorded just like note data. This will store that data in clips just like the note data. To add pitch and mod wheel as automation use the automation drop down Set the MIDI Envelope Type to Wheel for pitch Set the MIDI Envelope Type to Control and Value to "1 Modulation" for mod wheel
  22. While bundles are not a suitable archival format and should never be relied upon as the only copy of a project; bundles are fine for collaboration.
