  1. In April 2020, Softube broke all of their PC modules with update 2.4.96 r287594. The last working release is 2.4.83. This is a Softube issue.
  2. Here is a direct link to the VCV-Bridge installer https://vcvrack.com/downloads/Rack-0.6.2c-win.exe There are 32 and 64bit, FX and synth versions of VCV-Bridge dll in this installer. This is the last version released and VCV-Bridge works with Rack v0.6 and v1.
  3. Here is a reply to a similar thread How much space is returned depends on what was originally installed. The DAWs themselves do not take up much space. Removing old Cakewalk DAWS using the uninstall processes will likely break newer installs included CbB. If it does break, it will require re-installing CbB. There are strategies for freeing up space on the system drive such as moving sample and loop libraries to other drivers. Usually this type of discussion benefits from a good understanding of the current environment including hardware and products installed.
  4. There are several ways to add soft synths to a project. One method is described in the To create Instrument tracks section on this page As noted above there are a few tutorials on MIDI on Youtube. Adding synth plug-ins to an audio FX bin is a very old way of adding synths to a project. As a rule, this should only be used when the synth operates on audio data (ex. a vocoder). In normal use, most synths are added using the Add menu mentioned in the link above, dragged from the plug-in browser and dropped into the project (on empty space in the track view not on a track), using the Insert from the main menu or the synth rack view.
  5. It's a bad idea to completely change the text of the OP. It makes the thread very difficult to follow. After receiving replies, consider leaving the OP alone and create a new thread for different questions. If you figure out the solution to the OP consider posting it for the benefit of other with similar questions. Edit the OP adding Solved to the subject line. Thanks.
  6. It is normal for a synth to have "Enable MIDI Input" selected and disabled. In addition to turning off "Enable MIDI Output" above the tripleplay plug-in, make sure the Jamstix instrument/MIDI track inputs are not set to any of "All Inputs Omni" or "All External Inputs Omni". Keep in mind any time an instrument/MIDI track input is set to None and the track has input echo enabled, the track input is automatically set to either "All Inputs Omni" or "All External Inputs Omni".
  7. Completely different development teams.
  8. This does not matter at all. ASIO4All is not a driver. It is a wrapper for WDM drivers intended for use with software that only works with ASIO. CbB supports WASAPI and WDM natively.
  9. If this means there is a "Generic" ASIO driver in addition to the manufacturer supplied driver, it should be removed. Often "Generic" ASIO drivers conflict with manufacturer supplied drivers. There should never be more than one ASIO driver installed for an interface.
  10. Some interfaces. in CbB preferences, show 32bit as the audio driver bit depth. This usually means the interface is bundled with DSP software. It does not mean the hardware has 32bit A/D converters. IOW, it is the software between the interface and the DAW that is running at 32bit.
  11. Start the project at a high sample rate. The CbB upsample feature may be applied non-destructively on playback, during render or both. I wrote a tool to make it easier to setup the plug-in settings. It is one of the CbB tools mentioned in this thread
  12. TTS-1 is a DX plug-in. There are several plug-in format indicators: The plug-in browser may use different icons and colors. These are theme dependent. There is a "Sort by Type" layout Unlike VST2/3, DX plug-ins do not have a drop down in the standard header above the plug-in UI like this one above the Rapture Pro VST3 I am surprised a VST reset failed. In the past, this corrected SI suite initial scan failures.
  13. While the DAW runs at one sample rate, CbB can run plug-ins at higher and lower sample rates There are distortion and lo-fi effects that process audio at varying sample rates and bit depths.
  14. If it is not a workspace setting, I suspect the keyboard shortcut. One could set the SHIFT+left/right arrow combinations to do nothing in preferences.
  15. It is either the workspace setting or this drop down SHIFT+left/right arrow are the drop down shortcut key combos
  16. Like some other developers with roots in making UAD plug-ins PA does not provide a preset manager in their plug-ins. AFAIK, Unfiltered Audio is the only line the offers built -in preset managers. Instead they rely on the plug-in host for preset management. Maybe one day the rest will have built-in preset managers. The Cakewalk preset manager handles DX and VST but not VST3. The VST3 drop down to the right of the preset manager can load VST3 presets. Unfortunately, the way paths are handled in this drop down can make working with VST3 presets difficult. PA VST3 presets are stored in your Documents\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance folder
  17. Feel free to add it http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=NewFeatures.084.html
  18. Of these, holding down the SHIFT key while starting the DAW (as opposed to starting a project) is most often recommended when the "First Beat" and "Other Beats" drop downs in the audio metronome section in preferences are empty. Holding down SHIFT while starting the DAW restores files missing from the user directory "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core". Holding down CTRL while starting the DAW initializes the user directory by overwriting all the files and resets a few registry entries. The audio files used by the metronome in CbB are read from "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Metronome". The only other relevant settings are the checkboxes for playback and recording on the same preference page. The audio metronome may be routed to a bus in the DAW (all supplied templates provide a metronome bus) or directly to the hardware using the output drop down in the audio metronome section of preferences.
  19. Enable "Input Echo", the button to the right of the record button, to monitor live data through the DAW.
  20. Yeah, I hope the date won't get in the way of Launchpad users (both of you ) grabbing the update. It would have been easy enough to wait and release it later but the last few updates are important for keeping the DAW and automation dll in sync. The original version made some assumptions of how the tool would be used. The recent changes to v2 attempt to address different workflows.
  21. The information is a footer added to all the help pages on the old Cakewalk site. I believe the hooks are still in the program but the feature is not supported, the option was removed from preferences and the help is not available in the appropriate format. The CbB help is available via the web site and in pdf format only.
  22. Once the lanes are cleared, right-click in the parent track and "Remove Empty Take Lanes"
