Feature Request: Visual Metronome
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Cameron Schettler's topic in Feedback Loop

Hi Would it be possible to add a " Render All" to the Region FX Menu ? Maybe next to the "Bypass All" It's good housekeeping practice to bounce/render everything before archiving a project and this would help speed things up Cheers

You must be using pretty basic automation then Bob ? Volume - panning..not a whole lot else you can automate after it's been bounced ? I see you have Kontakt so do you not use CC automation to control articulations etc in certain instruments ?

Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Zirrex's topic in Feedback Loop
Makes sense..I wondered why I had never wanted it an realised I automatically make the track bigger so I can see them all but it's a good shout -
I am talking about transposing a clip not the whole track..Kev's tip work's a treat though thanks

Got lucky and got the new Ryzen 3900X
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to richard greenidge's topic in The Coffee House
Interesting thread. I am thinking about the same CPU for my next machine - I've had this rig for almost 9yrs now...i5 2500 which was the best bang per buck at the time. @richard greenidge - Have you managed to push the CPU yet , I was interested to know how many plugins, VSTi's etc you could typlically run and at what latency before it started to stutter? I have just checekd a recent track and I'm running about 100 Plugins & 15 VSTi's on an EDM track. I do some orchestral hybrid stuff so I have quite a few Kontakt libraries as well for those. To get my system to play anything like the above I have to max out the latency to 2048 and freeze some of the tracks / Vsti's so I'd be interested to know what this 3900x can handle in the real world. It would be nice to keep my latency at no more than 256 and not have to freeze anything. Also what sort of drives are you using ? -
Scalable interface for hi-res and tired eyes
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Jon L. Jacobi's topic in Feedback Loop
Yeah this has been asked for in a couple of other threads here as well as on the old forum. I think it would work much better for today's displays -
[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2019.09 Early Access
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Jesse Jost's topic in Early Access Program
Point taken. I still think there' s a better one key solution..somewhere I was about to find it in Preferences-Keyboard Shortcuts but the ' Locate Key ' function doesn't help because ESC closes the dialog box even when shifted My vote would be move it to the opposite side then and use NUM SUB ( minus key ) ..seems to be unassigned by default -
[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2019.09 Early Access
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Jesse Jost's topic in Early Access Program
I appreaciate you have added SHIFT+ESC to clear selection It's not a very easy key combo though IMHO , quite a stretch and I can't do it without looking at the keyboard- what was wrong with just using ESC on it's own ? It seems intuitive and can be found without looking . -
Please can we have a quick way to transpose up and down an octave at a time in the is dialogue box..like a +12 & -12 button

Has anyone used the Bandlab App Alongside CBB
Mark Morgon-Shaw posted a topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I usually write for music libraries in my spare time, but I have to stay in a hotel all this next week so I am hoping to start a couple of tracks on the Bandlab Mobile App on my tablet to later finish them in Cakewalk when I get back. Has anyone else tried it ? Just interested as to how well it works. The actual App intself looks very well featured and slick. I'll be using it on Android most likely. -
Global shuffle(swing) function

+1 I would also like a global key change up and down..midi and audio -
When minismising certain windows like plugins or an undocked Console, when you minimise them they obscure other controls like the Inspector display options

How about a hot button to pop up the Asio Panel ?

Frozen Vsti Data - Bug or Feature ?
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Mark Morgon-Shaw's topic in Feedback Loop
Ok it's some sort of bug then as it doesn't happen that way with VSTi's I use Once the frozen audioclip is moved the unfreeze does not function My screen recording won't upload so it's here in my Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/2l27ibpycrem6t6/Cakefreeze.gif?dl=0 TTS1 in a clean project functioned correctly as did Kontakt which displayed the issue in the project..I've certainly encountered it multiple times before. -
When you freeze a VSTi synth , if you move the resulting audio clip to another track you can't unfreeze the synth until you put it back where it came from. I don't know if this is by design or a bug but I'm often browsing through patches and stumble across thigs that might be useful as a layer so being able to freeze it and drag it to another track for later is useful. I realise you can work around this by copying but it just seems a little strange to me how it works currently. I would like to be able to move the audio clips created when freezing a track to wherever I choose without it stopping me unfreezing the synth. I think once the clip is moved from it's original position it should be free of it's parent midi data. You could leave a ghosted/muted midi clip behind in it's absence which would unmute again when unfrozen.

I would like the ability to switch to betwwen different Profiles. i.e. 1. Low Latency..this switches the Soundcard to a pre-determined sample buffer size as set by the user in the preferences i.e. 256 samples is good for me when working with midi instruments 2. Max performance..this would switch the Soundcard to a higher latency mode i.e. 2048 samples which is better for mixing The abilty to jump quickly between thse profiles would be handy, I often get 75% through a project and then decide it needs a new part that I have to play in but I have to go into the Preferences and then into my sound card ASIO settings as I will have a lot of plugins and virtual instruments running and have had to crank up the latency. Then I record my my additional part, and have to then change it all back again to continue with my mix.

First Few m/s never render cleanly on Export
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Mark Morgon-Shaw's topic in Feedback Loop
Yes probably about 30 or so I only use the default Basic Project Template when I start a new track but I've never even tried a track template to be honest..except maybe once in Version 6 or whenever they came out. It seems be working okay now I changed that setting though thanks ..Just did whole track where it was fine -
First Few m/s never render cleanly on Export
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Mark Morgon-Shaw's topic in Feedback Loop
This seems to have helped thanks, the current project isn't exhibiting the same symptoms. I will test it going forward as I'm making new tracks every few days -
