There's a lot more to mixing than just hardware. You need a real audio interface for sure, but one with a proper ASIO driver. The UMC22 ain't that. Yes. And room treatment is even more important. Especially bass traps. Actually, I don't understand. First of all, you shouldn't be "blasting" your speakers. Secondly, your family should be supportive and encouraging of your hobby. There is no reason to fool around with ASIO4ALL when you have an interface that has a real ASIO driver.

Nothing is wrong with your CbB configuration. It's a 32 bit plugin that was abandoned a decade ago while it was still in beta. It's a wonder it worked for the other guy.

Too much trouble for a free plugin. Especially 32 bit. Not worth it. If it doesn't work right off the bat, I delete it and move on with my life. In fact, I generally pass 32 bit plugins right on by.....

Cakewalk works with any audio interface. What do you mean by "not working?"
