I am trying to comp a multitrack drum part. Is there any way to simultaneously select across multiple tracks? It doesn't seem to work; I would have expected to be able to select across multiple take lanes on multiple tracks the same way as on "regular" tracks.

Nope. You have to have the MIDI track pointed to a VSTi and the output of the VSTi pointed to an audio track. Sounds complicated but the way RBH described it this is quite transparent to the user. "Input echo" is so you can monitor your playing in real time.

What's to elaborate? You created a song, mixed it & got it sounding how you want. You exported it as a WAV file and it plays back in mono in various media players. You brought your exported WAV back into CW and it sounds identical to the original project. Think about it for a minute; its kinda obvious.

Use it for the old bathroom reverb chamber trick. Then it will be music related.

That's the way it is supposed to work.
