  1. Dated? Yeah, I guess, since orchestral instruments have been largely unchanged for over 100 years....
  2. You could have a corrupted installation or have missing or damaged Microsoft runtime libraries.
  3. There's nothing wrong with CbB. Its something in your system. Money isn't going to fix this, logical troubleshooting is. Nobody else seems to be having this issue.
  4. The Pro Fools crowd don't mind overpaying....
  5. Two things: 1) Like I mentioned before, the whole DAW is one giant Harrison channel strip. 2) What some people see as limitations (fixed number of busses, etc) actually force you to streamline your mixing workflow and make it more efficient.
  6. You always have to do quite a bit of editing with this kind of thing.
  7. I have had trouble with Spitfire and IK VST3s, but the VST2 versions work just fine.
  8. Keep in mind that Mixbus is based on the paradigm of recording and mixing onto tape through an analog console and designed to replicate that experience to some extent. Perhaps the greatest thing about it is that you can complete an entire mix with no plugins whatsoever. The whole DAW is one giant Harrison channel strip. If you feel the need to time align and pitch correct everything to an unreasonable and unrealistic level of perfection, its probably not for you. If you are "making beats" (whatever that is, exactly) , its probably not for you. If you are doing extensive MIDI editing, its definitely not for you.
  9. Cakewalk should not be run in administrator mode.
  10. Not quite. The input on track 2 needs to be set to Blue Arp and the output needs to be sent to Vital.
  11. It just so happens that I got this and was playing with it yesterday and this is what I figured out: First, you need two MIDI tracks. Then you insert Blue Arp and then whatever synthesizer you want to drive with it. Ensure that MIDI out is enabled on Blue Arp. The first MIDI track is the one you play on. Route it to Blue Arp. On the second, route the input in from Blue Arp and the output to your synthesizer. I hope my explanation is clear enough.
  12. It would be help people help you better if you shared your system specs and settings.
  13. Irish. But my music borrows more from the Arabic world than from the Celtic. How's that for cross-pollination? An Irish bouzouki - which is an adaptation of a Greek instrument- tuned like a guitar and played Middle-Eastern style!
  14. You bastards! First, you made it impossible to resist BBCSO Core on BF, and now this! It's a conspiracy, I tell you! A conspiracy! (warming up debit card)
  15. Try the iRig acoustic. I've gotten some good results from it. Not quite like a good condenser, but it sits good in a mix. I cheat & tune my bouzouki like a guitar.
  16. That's pretty unusual. Even though it doesn't really go anywhere it still keeps your interest. The syncopation makes it sound like you're rhythmically displacing your lead motif even though you aren't. I'm guessing that the Space Echo is what's making it sound like its ping ponging back and forth.
  17. Not bad. Kind of 60s British invasion kind of thing it sounds like to me.
  18. Nice little country rock song to drown your sorrows to!
  19. What audio interface are you using and what driver?
  20. WDM is the absolute worst driver mode there is for Windows. Absent an interface that has proper ASIO drivers, try switching to WASAPI. It is possible too that it is the interface itself is just noisy.
