  1. On 9/9/2021 at 8:57 AM, Morten Saether said: Incompatible ASIO driver detection Cakewalk will now detect use of known incompatible ASIO drivers and warn the user to switch to a different native ASIO driver or WASAPI Shared mode for a better experience. This is in response to many reports in the field of such drivers causing problems in Cakewalk. ASIO4All variants are currently flagged as being incompatible. Note: Users may still use these drivers but Cakewalk will not use them by default. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/33601-closed-cakewalk-202109-early-access-updated-to-build-137/&tab=comments#comment-273339 Emphasis mine
  2. I hate to break this to you but that interfere doesn't have a proper ASIO driver, it uses ASIO4ALL which is known not to work properly in CW. Having said that, why not just use it the way you have found it to work? But be forewarned: for best results, you must use ASIO if you are recording multiple tracks or you will eventually run into latency and sync issues.
  3. That's good. Korg, for instance will not work in a hub. It will show up, but it won't work. Others, I'm sure are the same.
  4. You're probably not going to answer this question either, because no one else ever does but here goes: is it plugged into a USB hub?
  5. As has been pointed out already, pitch bend range is a function of the instrument, not CW. I think the best way to do this is play it in with the pitch wheel on your keyboard and your ear. Otherwise, it involves math and a bunch of tedium.
  6. Nope. That's supposed to go away. If it stays there, that means that Cakewalk didn't completely shut down. Often that happens when CW crashes. I hate to break this to you, but E-mu systems is long out of business. The last official driver for that card was for Vista, although a beta driver for W7 was released. That it works at all is pure luck. It is well past time to move on.
  7. Wow. That interface is so far obsolete its a wonder it works at all.
  8. There's really nothing wrong with sound fonts per se. Like any sample-based format, it largely depends on the quality of the samples themselves. I think perhaps soundfonts have gotten a bad rap from their association with crappy Sound Blaster cards, but there's some pretty decent stuff out there including much of the old E-mu and and Ensoniq sstuf.
  9. I think there might be one or two people here old enough to have received it....
  10. Yup. Lately, I have been loving me some Proteus and Emax sounds. As well as some ARP odyssey/ 2600, Korg Mono/Poly, etc....
  11. AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHY I GOT VACCINATED! But how many people die from the flu who got the flu vaccine? How many people die from malaria who have been vaccinated? How many people die from smallpox who have been vaccinated?
  12. Maybe they came up with this Rosetta thing because of all the backlash they faced in the past.
  13. It looks almost exactly like the one that says scroll lock on it.
  14. I suppose the time having to replace all your apps cuz they don't work anymore don't count huh?
  15. No, I'm not misunderstanding a damn thing. I understand better than most that the Bill of Rights places limits on the Government and not on private individuals. I also understand, apparently better than most, that this stuff is so deeply ingrained into our culture that is generally considered bad form for private entities to interfere with people's exercise of those rights. At least it used to be. You know, like if you don't like my book, don't read it. If you don't like my podcast, don't listen to it. If you don't like my TV show, don't watch it. And my point still stands: The proper way to combat misinformation is not by suppressing it, but by disseminating the truth.
  16. When creating/ editing an instrument definition, is there a way to get the patch names automatically without typing them in? Also, for an instrument that has 100 presets, how does one delete 101-127 from the menu?
  17. Yeah. Missing that $5 in streaming royalties is really gonna hurt....
  18. I suppose "free speech" doesn't count any more. The basic principle of free speech is that people should be able to speak freely - without being censored and without the fear of reprisal. That includes saying unpopular things and even things that are untrue. You just aren't allowed to incite violence or start a riot. The proper way to combat falsehood is not to suppress it but to disseminate the truth. And since I know someone is bound to bring it up: you actually can yell "fire" in a crowded theater - if there is in fact a fire.
  19. Looks like your input level is way too low. What audio interface do you have?
  20. What teenager owns a Mac either? I don't know where the hell you're from but here in the real world not many teenagers have very much disposable income. I gotta call BS on this. I have never heard of anyone giving a rodent's gluteus maximus what platform a file came off of as long as they can use it on theirs. And since most DAWs that aren't Cakewalk or Logic are cross platform.... More BS. The two names I see most often are Ableton and Reaper.
  21. Or so Mac fanboys would have you believe.
