  1. You should put this in the songs subforum. I checked it out. Honestly, I didn't like it that much, but that is just a taste thing. It is very good, just not my style. I thought it was very well done. You know a mix is good when it sounds great on the phone speaker. The intro with those sound effects was interesting. I thought it was really clever how it sets up a radically different set of expectations than what the body of the song is really like. Bringing them back in later gives continuity. What I really liked was the video itself. How did you do the animation? I apologize if I offended you. It can be easy to mistake someone being direct and blunt with him being a d***. That wasn't my intention; we get rashes of people coming on here complaining that CbB is broken - that it doesn't work properly - because they don't get the results they were expecting and they haven't bothered to look at the documentation. Just recently some guy popped in here after playing with Cakewalk for a whole long week with a laundry list of "missing features" that are, in fact, features that CW has had for years. So I do apologize, but your OP did look for all the world like one of those. Some remark along the lines of "I've been using CW for years and this just started happening" would have cleared that right up. No hard feelings? As far as me being wrong, its not the first time and I'm sure it will happen again.
  2. Nah, I'm just not fluent in gibberish. If you don't use technical language correctly you shouldn't really get offended if people don't understand what you're talking about. You have a wonderful evening. I need to get back to my latest project; it just so happens I am adding some crescendos at key points to make the melody more expressive.
  3. Aside from an academic interest, I don't think any of this matters. Its all supposed to be transparent to the user.
  4. There are two conventions, 0-127 and 1-128. Which one is used is determined by the GM instrument, not by CW. You need to use the correct instrument definition for what you have.
  5. Now this has me wondering why someone who knows "which note I place where and why" needs to be dragging them all over the place. Not to mention that even after four semesters of music theory, I have no idea what a "crescendo of half-steps over two octaves" is supposed to be. Nor can I recall having ever experienced stuck notes whilst editing in the PRV.
  6. What "attitude?" Nobody else seems to have this problem. Nothing in your OP indicates you have any experience whatsoever with DAWs at all, let alone Cakewalk. Your whole post screams newbie and your issue is the exact sort of thing that happens to people who don't bother to RTFM, start stumbling around blindly and then don't get the results they expect.
  7. Not to mention that the question was answered about an hour and 45 minutes prior to this duplicate.
  8. That kind of thing always bothers me as well. Don't get me wrong: I like hot babes as much as the next guy. Hell, I married one. But that kind of thing makes me feel like not only are the women not being taken seriously, but neither am I.
  9. What in the world are you talking about?
  10. Not to be an *****, but the solution is to utilize the doccumentation, maybe watch a tutorial or two and learn how to do things before just winging it and getting frustrated.... This is happening because you don't have your MIDI channels set up correctly. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Dialogs2.058.html
  11. You're asking in the wrong place about the wrong software.. That tutorial is for BandLab. This is Cakewalk; BandLab is an entirely different app.
  12. What in the world are you talking about?
  13. Project 5 doesn't exist any more.
  14. I was pretty well disappointed with retrohit. Not because it doesn't sound decent but because it doesn't quite live up to their description. Of the "50 Drum kits," only 10 are an actual kit and the rest of the "kits" are all kicks, all snares, etc. Also, of the "vintage drum machines namely, EMU sp12, OB- MX, LINN DRUM and Fairlight" that were sampled, there is no documentation telling you what's what. An email to support elicited no further information. Its cool that you get 600 samples, but I wish I could construct my own drum kits within their plugin instead of loading them into something else or, better, that all "50 drum kits" were complete drum kits and that they told you what was what.
  15. I forgot to mention Voltage Modular. I started out with Ignite to play around a little. I got the MS Vintage and Vintage Voice bundles when they were on sale b/c I thought it would be cool to build virtual Eurorack versions of the Korg MS20 and ARP 2600/Odyssey. Not long after that, I saw I could get Ignite for $25. No-brainer! Not long after that, I saw I could get Core for another $25! Another No-brainer! With a few other modules, I might be $100 into this thing altogether.
  16. https://www.udemy.com/course/musictheory/ Which is accomplished by the musician slowing down and speeding up. I believe you are overthinking this and making it harder than it needs to be. A real musician would accomplish this feat by slowing down and then speeding back up. What kind of perfection are you after? Maybe you are doing some kind of avant garde experimental stuff beyond the comprehension of my simple Rock&Roll brain, but it sounds to me like you are expecting a level of precision beyond the capability of any human performer. Absent something like a per track tempo map, the only two ways I could think to accomplish this fee would be either to play it in the way you want it or break out the calculator.
  17. All Reaper is doing is changing the note values, which is exactly what would happen if you did like I suggested. If you really wanted to, you could do the math. No problem! Play it perfectly. ? Some problems really do have simple solutions. ?
  18. Yeah. I guess I'm not on board. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
  19. Yes. I use quantize much more than I care to admit and it operates as designed. "Operating as designed" does not mean " operating the way you want it to." Math is hard .... Jeez! Even my discalculiac self can figure this out. Look, I don't know what you two are trying to accomplish - or prove - but I'm not going to create some test project with the timing so grossly out of whack to "test" the limits of the quantize feature. Because I know I won't get good results. Quantize is there to tighten up a performance that is a little bit off - key words being "little bit" - not get a perfect groove from somebody who can't tell the difference between the pocket and his a**h***.
