No, I'm not misunderstanding a damn thing. I understand better than most that the Bill of Rights places limits on the Government and not on private individuals. I also understand, apparently better than most, that this stuff is so deeply ingrained into our culture that is generally considered bad form for private entities to interfere with people's exercise of those rights. At least it used to be. You know, like if you don't like my book, don't read it. If you don't like my podcast, don't listen to it. If you don't like my TV show, don't watch it. And my point still stands: The proper way to combat misinformation is not by suppressing it, but by disseminating the truth.

When creating/ editing an instrument definition, is there a way to get the patch names automatically without typing them in? Also, for an instrument that has 100 presets, how does one delete 101-127 from the menu?

Yeah. Missing that $5 in streaming royalties is really gonna hurt....

I suppose "free speech" doesn't count any more. The basic principle of free speech is that people should be able to speak freely - without being censored and without the fear of reprisal. That includes saying unpopular things and even things that are untrue. You just aren't allowed to incite violence or start a riot. The proper way to combat falsehood is not to suppress it but to disseminate the truth. And since I know someone is bound to bring it up: you actually can yell "fire" in a crowded theater - if there is in fact a fire.

Audio clip waveform doesn't show up unless I zoom in
Byron Dickens replied to Nicolas Santana's question in Q&A
Looks like your input level is way too low. What audio interface do you have? -
What teenager owns a Mac either? I don't know where the hell you're from but here in the real world not many teenagers have very much disposable income. I gotta call BS on this. I have never heard of anyone giving a rodent's gluteus maximus what platform a file came off of as long as they can use it on theirs. And since most DAWs that aren't Cakewalk or Logic are cross platform.... More BS. The two names I see most often are Ableton and Reaper.

Or so Mac fanboys would have you believe.

I don't think you really mean that....

What did I miss? Serves me right to put down the forum and work on some music.

Bovine Excrement and a false dichotomy. Nobody is asking for or expecting a Doctoral dissertation. Just something comprehensible. Paragraphing. Capitalization. Punctuation. Proper English is not hard. It is not anything escoteric. > 99% of the posts here are proper English. You have this exactly 180° backwards. If one wishes to be understood, one should adhere to the conventions of communication and not expect one's intended audience to engage in mental gymnastics. Striving for clear communication is just common courtesy.
-
Cakewalk's staff view is, um, rudimentary....
-
Exactly. Refusing to use accepted conventions of communication displays a lack of respect for the reader. If you don't believe me, watch what happens when you correct them.
-
Yes. Especially since, as mentioned previously, these "tests" lack sufficient scientific rigor.

A refreshing change from all those one post wonders who disappear and never bother to respond!

Yeah because it's one of those garbage generic drivers scook was talking about. You need to uninstall though. Completely. And only use the Focusrite driver. That should be the only one on your system.

Ooooooo Yeah. That's a known Cakewalk crasher right there, if memory serves me right

That is impossible. But nonetheless, the fact that it was working and then you made changes and it stopped working points to those changes you made.

"Every" other DAW?

If it was working before you made changes, then it obviously has to do with the changes you made. I can run cakewalk on aging Windows 8.1 laptop that is dying and seems to take almost 5 minutes to boot up, with only 4 gigabytes of memory, so it can't possibly be Cakewalk.

There can't be "nothing" running in the background. Also, what operating system? 64-bit tells us nothing.

8 GB is pretty lean. What else is running in the background?

How about some information about your system?
