What happens if I screw something up editing it?

Yep. And my Dad went to his grave with a grudge against Whataburger. Meanwhile, they get millions and millions of orders correct all the time. Not to mention that they are hands down the best fast food burger in existence.

I get the same - perhaps worse - results from MIDI OX. I've got several different sysex files I have been trying. Hard to believe that they are all corrupt, although it's certainly possible. Any way to look inside one of the files & possibly fix it?

I am trying to send a Sysex dump to my Korg X3 and having trouble. The keyboard only takes about half of Bank A. Most of the rest appears to be scrambled - random & missing characters in the patch names and the last few patches and all of Bank B remain in the initialized state. I suspect the dump may be too fast for the keyboard to handle. In the documentation, I found "Sysx .ini file settings" but what's confusing me is that there are several different "TTSseq.ini" files spread around in different places and none of them have the lines SysxSendDelayMsecs=n SysxDelayAfterF7=n or SysxSendPacketSize=n Which are what I am supposed to edit to slow down the data transmission. Any ideas?

I found I have a much easier time restringing a Floyd doing one string at a time.

I don't have that problem. It all works just fine for me. There isn't anything wrong with the online documentation; it must be your browser settings.

I, too have autosave disabled as it will interrupt what I am doing. Hitting "Ctrl+S" is like a nervous tic.

Well, wouldn't you know. I replaced the internal battery and did a factory reset and it's all back. Since banks 0 and 1 are in RAM, I thought with the demise of the battery they were wiped out for good. I really appreciate you guys trying to help me out!

The factory reset doesn't restore banks 0 and 1 for some reason. Maybe replacing the nearly 30 year old and surely dead internal battery will fix that. Something I need to do anyway. I appreciate the link, but I have seen it before and it doesn't have what I am looking for. There is a link to a site that has a paltry few soundfonts sampled from the unit, but I need the actual sysex files for the hardware unit itself.

If CbB itself is the problem, how would you possibly explain all the people who use it successfully on a daily basis without this issue?

I carefully organize everything in a heirachal file structure with clear labeling or I'd never find anything.

Does anyone know where I can find all the factory presets for a Proteus FX? I am putting one back into service that I have had sitting around for years but banks 0 and 1 have been wi I have searched but without success. I seem to be able to find them for every E-mu ever made except the Proteus FX!
