  1. But no matter how much you change it, it's still dark. This is one item I would like changed. I would love the ability to essentially invert the look to be similar to the Cakewalk for Windows theme.
  2. I still have my DOS and C4W 1.0 disks.
  3. A buddy and I use My Drive to send bundles back and forth. One thing I've noticed lately, when I download a bundle from My Drive, the file type is set to "wave" even though the extension is .cwb. I can load it into Cakewalk but it doesn't show up as available unless I change the file open filter to *.*. Weird.
  4. If I want to manually enter something and miss hitting enter, those shortcut keys make Cakewalk explode all over itself and I have no idea how much stuff I've trigger just typing the word "Lead".
  5. Did you check the shortcut list?t? Edit: Someone pointed out it's "e" on the keyboard. I always click the button in the control panel. Does that do what you want?
  6. When I've done it, I filter the midi down to one instrument, freeze it, copy the audio to a new track and filter again for the next instrument. Repeat until you have what you want. Other ways seem to take more steps to get from midi data to audio. I have also set up EZ Drummer to output to separate channels/tracks (16 if you pick stereo) and freeze those tracks.
  7. I second Nigel's point about adding TTS-1 the first thing in a project. Adding it later is likely to be futile. Same for V-Vocal. Use it early because at some point it will crash Cakewalk (usually Cronus.dll.)
  8. Ask questions in any language. We'll figure it out.
  9. I use Xpand! a lot. It's got some great balls-to-the-wall pads among other things. I too grabbed the expansion pack and never noticed it's all in the X86 folder. I thought Xpand! was 64-bit. Maybe the preset location is legacy (where it was when it was 32 bit.) Also, has anyone found a keyboard stroke to step through the presets? I noticed +/- or any arrow keys will not do it. Regardless, I love this instrument.
  10. Didn't early Cakewalk have this? I need to fire up C4W 1.0. I don't think CW DOS did.
  11. I could see setting the key myself (like G) and having it as a reference for any global key shifts. So if I do a global transpose up or down, it would change accordingly, Of course I'd have to know the key in the first place which I don't often. All white keys - it must be C. Oh, one black key, that's um, er, ah ... I wouldn't expect Cakewalk to figure it out.
  12. Hi Murat, I do see that but it's still an instrument track. As you pointed out, any change disrupts the midi section. As you suggested, I too just copy the audio data out to a new audio track. Extra step but not a deal breaker. The OP was suggesting (as I read it) that the freeze would essentially change the track from instrument to audio. Alas, I am not sure why I am invested in the topic at this point, LOL! It's certainly a feature worth investigating.
  13. Maybe what we want is for it to create a new wave track at the same time? I don't understand how an instrument track and wave track can be the same thing at the same time when they are different things.
  14. As for samplers, TX16Wx has been pretty nice.
  15. If we could convert a midi/instrument track to wave in one stroke wouldn't that require the midi/instrument track to be converted to a wave track? Seems that could be "problematic." I like the idea but question the logic needed.
  16. Yes, I've seen this too. Once TTS-1 is added everything wants to go to it but I mainly see it on tracks added after I added TTS-1. But yes, prior tracks have flipped. I just learned to watch for it.
  17. The article says, "BandLab bought acclaimed music production software Cakewalk from Gibson Brands earlier this year, stripped away its subscription model and made it a 'pay as you like' affair." Not sure what that means,
  18. I can't update. It gets to about 25% and bails. I can still use the installed version though.
  19. A subset of controls .... hmmmm I've only seen blue for Automation Read. I've never seen it gray or with a slash and the documentation doesn't explain how to even get that to happen. This is the first time I've seen it. I wonder if it has something to so with some controller he has. Frankly, I don't think he knows what caused this.
  20. A friend sent me a bundle and it has something I've never seen before. The R for Read Automation is grayed out and it has a slash (on all tracks.) I can add automation and it reads it but I've never seen the grayed out R with the slash. Toggling it just changes the density of the gray. Any idea what this means? (Beside, yeah, ya didn't read the manual did you? Admit it!)
  21. Let me try it again. I didn't see a clipping effect light it up. Could be me (usually is.) But I was thinking of a simple box up top (or bottom) that lights up to say "go look for what's clipping." It's possible that many of the effects won't report that and they certainly aren't going to get updated.
