I use Xpand! a lot. It's got some great balls-to-the-wall pads among other things. I too grabbed the expansion pack and never noticed it's all in the X86 folder. I thought Xpand! was 64-bit. Maybe the preset location is legacy (where it was when it was 32 bit.) Also, has anyone found a keyboard stroke to step through the presets? I noticed +/- or any arrow keys will not do it. Regardless, I love this instrument.

Getting fixes and new features essentially every month is pretty unbelievable!

I could see setting the key myself (like G) and having it as a reference for any global key shifts. So if I do a global transpose up or down, it would change accordingly, Of course I'd have to know the key in the first place which I don't often. All white keys - it must be C. Oh, one black key, that's um, er, ah ... I wouldn't expect Cakewalk to figure it out.

Hi Murat, I do see that but it's still an instrument track. As you pointed out, any change disrupts the midi section. As you suggested, I too just copy the audio data out to a new audio track. Extra step but not a deal breaker. The OP was suggesting (as I read it) that the freeze would essentially change the track from instrument to audio. Alas, I am not sure why I am invested in the topic at this point, LOL! It's certainly a feature worth investigating.

And samplers.

As for samplers, TX16Wx has been pretty nice.

The article says, "BandLab bought acclaimed music production software Cakewalk from Gibson Brands earlier this year, stripped away its subscription model and made it a 'pay as you like' affair." Not sure what that means,

I can't update. It gets to about 25% and bails. I can still use the installed version though.

A subset of controls .... hmmmm I've only seen blue for Automation Read. I've never seen it gray or with a slash and the documentation doesn't explain how to even get that to happen. This is the first time I've seen it. I wonder if it has something to so with some controller he has. Frankly, I don't think he knows what caused this.
-
A friend sent me a bundle and it has something I've never seen before. The R for Read Automation is grayed out and it has a slash (on all tracks.) I can add automation and it reads it but I've never seen the grayed out R with the slash. Toggling it just changes the density of the gray. Any idea what this means? (Beside, yeah, ya didn't read the manual did you? Admit it!)

I agree. Thanks again!

Let me try it again. I didn't see a clipping effect light it up. Could be me (usually is.) But I was thinking of a simple box up top (or bottom) that lights up to say "go look for what's clipping." It's possible that many of the effects won't report that and they certainly aren't going to get updated.
-
Thanks Will, but that's not what I am looking for.
-
I'll look at that again but I never noticed it coming on when an effect was clipping.
-
Right, but if an effect inside the track is clipping it won't tell you. I can crank up the Sonitus EQ output to full red and still back down the track level to not show red. If ANYTHING is red, flash something on the main screen.
-
Maybe this already exists and I've missed it, but it would be nice if the main screen had an indicator that something/anything is clipping. It could be an audio track, effect, etc. Occasionally I can hear something's wrong and have to go find it. An indicator that something is red would alert me to start looking. And yes, the Sonitus EQ is a common culprit.

Audio devices - where's the sound card output
Terry Kelley replied to George DaNova's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Device Mode pull down will only show those device that work with that mode. -
Yeah, it looked good at first but on more testing, it crashes either Cronus or Vpenc.
