  1. And never mind again! What I would give for a truly white theme ...
  2. Ah ha! See I tried finding Select in the shortcuts some time back and couldn't find it. I assumed it wasn't available. A quick look in Global and there it was. Thanks guys for helping. It saves a lot of motion. You can formally remove my demand.
  3. Minor request. It would be nice to be able to filter the Event View directly from that window. Yeah, I know I can click on View->Select but it would be nice to have it directly on the Event View.
  4. Yes, I'm seeing it too. If I try to run buffers under1024 I risk the audio engine generating tons of static noise just sitting idle. During playback it will dropout or generate the static like its a feedback loop. Nothing has changed in settings or Cakewalk as far as I know. Only the new Windows updates. No wifi, no conflicting audio devices, no mismatched audio bit/depth settings, no other programs running, no new plugins, no ASIO driver changes. The latency monitor says everything is fine but I haven't been able to run it while its generating the static. Sometimes it just stops. Rebooting doesn't fix it. At times it will be fine for an hour with smaller buffers and then go south. During record, I can still set the buffers to 64 and be OK with FX off. 32 will work if the project is simple with few effects. But playback now needs large buffers. I am certainly a VST hog and it could be Windows and that colliding now but it's worked for a long time. At this point I might play with some Cakewalk setting to see if it helps.
  5. I don't believe Linux or any Unix clone has the libraries and controls readily available to just "recompile it."
  6. Are you using Delete Special with the remove hole box checked?
  7. Wow, I still have my 505 that I used with my Pad5. I should dig that stuff out. D110, S330, VP70 among other stuff.
  8. Also look for the free Munt Roland MT-32 VST. He did a great job of emulating the MT-32 and undid the 14/15 bit limitations of the original hardware.
  9. Well what ever happened, it works now. I did a CTRL-A and then changed one of the tracks from Volume to Clips. Only that track changed. Did it again, same thing. Shutdown the program, restarted, same thing. Rebooted, works fine. It's a conspiracy I tell you! The CTRL-A and change one was my obvious thing to try but when it didn't work I thought it was something else. Thanks again! The more I read this the more I think that might be why it wasn't working.
  10. Hi Bristol "Jonesey" (if that's your real name ;)) Maybe I'm not being clear. From the Track View, I want to switch all tracks to Clips vs. Volume, Pan, etc. Assume I have 45 tracks and want to switch the focus of all 45 to Clips. I don't see a CTRL-Event filter doing that.
  11. I searched the manual and didn't find anything on this. Is there a shortcut to switch all tracks to Clip? I was thinking also for automation but some tracks might not have a particular control like reverb. But a global switch to Clips would be nice.
  12. Ah, like reverb or EQ with multiple outputs? Hmmm. I can see where it would be useful although today I just duplicate the track and use different effects on each one. One effect with multiple paths out ...
  13. Edit: I'll leave my answer here but I didn't answer the right question. It's about effects not instruments/sound generators. CbB already does. You have to select the multiple outputs when the Insert Soft Synth Options window comes up when you first insert it. Select Instruments Tracks per Output. And you can also select them to be stereo or mono outputs. Lots of other options too.
  14. It's not about the evils of Cakewalk (for which I think there are none) but the increasing public concern over their privacy. For many people when they find out their software is phoning home (or whatever connection) it gives them another concern about privacy. As shown in the media, 95% of iPhone users are turning off Facebook tracking via the new iOS update. And it's good. I have analytics turned on for Cakewalk and some other programs to try and help improve them. Cakewalk is harmless and I see no reason for them to make it harmful. But when someone comments about a piece of software making connections and not liking it, it unfair to dismiss them as being old and out of touch. I started long before ARPNET (used it copiously and COMSYS) and watched this train roll along. I've seen it all build up to what we have today. Experience does count for something. And I think this is a conversation for a different forum. But maybe Noel IS Mr. Big. I'm just sayin'.
  15. And some day when I am really bored ... ?That might be today now that I think about it. I usually only need to go down to D.
  16. Up next after the Illuminati. Do me next. To be fair, people are getting more and more sensitive to these privacy issues. Its not unfounded but I don't see Cakewalk being at the center.
