The only reservation I have about Auto-Save is that I am trying to avoid losing some work. When it saves isn't tied to what I am doing so I just got in the habit of saving before I change or add something. If there is a crash I can just go back to that last save. And you can save while it's playing in case terror strikes you after you hit the spacebar. I do wish the last save before the crash was in the recent file screen. It appears I have to exit CW nicely (not crash) for it to show up. I figure that if I saved it, odd are I would want to recall it first thing in most instances. Not a big deal though - I just have to find it via Existing.

Not me! I love the punishment! Hurt me TTS - hurt me! Ok, yeah, I tend to veer away from TTS-1 for the most part but there are some sounds that I like to use. I'll freeze as soon as I can. I don't recommend anyone using TTS or even speaking it's name.

I've developed muscle memory to do a ALT-F-S or CTRL-S very often. I will add a letter or number to the file if I need to keep an older version. Anytime I am about to try something I know will likely crash, I save a version. It's fast and it's free. I won't touch V-Vocal, TTS-1 or Sonitus Reverb without saving first and then I save often as I work through it.

Virtually new install - TTS-1 missing already!

There are a couple of things still available that often just don't work at some point. If they could fix them, they would. There is a time when you have to just move on. -
Do you care if it throws the tempo/beat/measure off or do you just want it added for the export? I usually do some post processing in Cool Edit like adding some empathy silence. Adding that via Cakewalk could be useful but adding "time" could have some effects to the timing.

Some of you folks would bitch if you were hung with a new rope.

I use MyDrive and save them locally. Wave, MP3, 4-bit Atari, whatever.

How to muffle/soften a TTS-1 instrument?

Do you have any way to fashion a rudimentary lathe? -
How do you know when a plugin doesn't handle64 bit correctly? Crash? Noise? Bad results?

It sounds AWESOME right up until they explain it.

More info is needed. Does cakewalk even see it? And if so, what is happening that is the issue?

Try selecting the tracks you want to change and then press CTRL, hold it and change one of the tracks. This works to change multiple tracks at once for many parameters. See if it works for your change.

Well ok then.

Does winning or losing the KVR contest matter to ANYONE?

Sez you can't vote for freeware.

I recall Noel saying there was some architecture challenge (or limitation) to doing this. I agree, it would be nice. It might be on their to-do list though.

At least rule out that the CPU is not overheating and throttling. Get something like Core Temp. You have to eliminate all possibilities. I had this issue on my laptop. And for some reason recording increased the CPU temp and it hit it's limit and I started getting static. Just a thought.
