From the Toontrack forum I suspect it might be a wait. It appears other DAWs are having issues too.

I've found there are fine subtleties that I can't express in the staff view where I can draw them in PRV. Mostly fine timing.

If you have EZ Drummer 2 still installed, insert it into the project and then replace it with EZ Drummer 3. It works for me. Right click on the instrument icon and then select replace synth (or replace synth on this track or all tracks.)

I found a work around for the crashing EZ Drummer 3. If you have EZ Drummer 2, add it and then replace it with EZ Drummer 3. For me it works every time. So with some playing I determined you can start with 2 and swap to 3 and it works. In addition, I noticed that if someone can add EZ Drummer 3 where it doesn't crash for them and then sends me that file, that file will load and not crash on my system. Good Luck! Terry

You're going to be told to post that on the Melodyne site. Once the developers see the issue isn't CW, they will push you in that direction. It's possible Melodyne might contact CW if they think the issue is in CW. I just updated to Melodyne 5.2 and EZD3 and Melodyne is fine and EZD3 won't work. I'm on Windows 10 21H2 and an i7 processor.

For me, Acon VST3 works fine on my Win 10 i7 system. But I think you summarized it nicely.

The three I know of are using ASIO (and all different) but that is interesting. I wouldn't expect the driver to be involved with just adding the VST but it's all certainly a complicated process.

What's concerning is that they don't work on several DAWs. It's just not Cakewalk having the problem. I don't understand how this got by the testers.

Of course. The error is the standard memory violation: c0000005. Seen one ... Changing the Exception Severity just makes Cakewalk blow it off but TT EZD3 still crashed with the violation. The fault is in EZdrummer 3.vst3. There is something wrong with the new EZD3. Who's fault it is is pending the finger pointing session. EZD 1 and 2 still work fine.

I'm getting a crash on EZD3 also. I submitted a ticket to CBB and Toontracks.

I am getting a crash of EZD3 trying to install it in an empty project. If hangs up CW if I try and install it on an existing track. Dump file is 6.2MB so I can't include it. I submitted a ticket.

That's a good point. I forgot about that.

If they are not selected notes they will be grayed out. You can still edit them though. For a test, go to track view and select the clip. The notes in Piano Roll should now be highlighted and not gray. If you scroll away from those selected notes in the clip, they will be gray.

We ran it on an HP3000 ported to MPE. I wanted to port it to PC Fortan 77 but it used the EXEC function and I didn't know how to deal with it at the time. I too have the original source code.
