Note that this was NOT included with the full FX bundle. 5 stomp boxes are free. The full set has 13. I've liked having the Soundtoys FX rack that comes with their bundle, but I'm not sure I want to pay additional money after paying for the full bundle. Hopefully, it'll get added at no cost for current bundle owners.

Softube Saturation Knob updated to VERSION: 2.4.89
TheMaartian replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Softube Tape was also updated. -
Magma are pure joy to me. I didn't get into them until 1980. Sure was hard to find their LPs in the States.

Old topic, but I'll just note that I had noticeable latency when playing through LoopMIDI. I did not experience that latency with LoopBe. So... I purchased LoopBe30, which lets me instantiate from 1-30 virtual MIDI channels, as needed. Also note that LoopBe (1 and 30) can be configured to provide shortcut detection (feedback loops). https://nerds.de/en/loopbe30.html

V for Vendetta

Worked fine for me (Win10 Home 1903). Note that it installs all four of their plugins, but you only get the free license file for the mastering EQ.

This is an f'ing bargain! I own the older D2 version. LOVE them! Very clean. I paid a LOT more than this.

And Key Suite Acoustic was also upgraded. Again! After having to d/l that 12 GB file a couple of days ago. Had to do it again. Plus the 9 GB for Digital Synsations. I've got a 400 MB download internet connection, but I'm lucky to get 1 MB/sec from UVI. They REALLY ought to move their download servers to AWS or similar.

I believe that it's doing a full plugin scan everytime it starts up. No way to disable that activity. And there seems to be little difference between the browser version and the dedicated app. I think I'm going to volunteer with Bill Tell and let him shoot the apple off of my head. More fun than Obelisk. Unless, of course, you mean THIS Obelix!
-
Unfortunately, I also have Obelisk. Anyone want mine? I've tried using it several times, and have just given up. Not aligned with the way my brain works. Plus, I hate the way it starts up. In-freaking-furiating.

Session/Superior Drummer - Fan out channels or stereo mix?
TheMaartian replied to davet's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Super awesome! Never knew that setting existed. I use the Pearl Default clean kit as my default kit. Sounds great, and very complete. Swapping smaller kits into Pearl Default routing would be fantastic. I ran the standalone SD3 and selected that option. We'll see how it works tomorrow. Heading out to see Roger Water's movie "Us & Them" tonight (2 Oct). Also playing Sunday (6 Oct). -
Session/Superior Drummer - Fan out channels or stereo mix?
TheMaartian replied to davet's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I've gone back and forth on this one. For my personal song template, I use just the 2-track stereo mix from SD3. The primary problem I had was when switching drum kits, the number of outputs would change, along with some of the mapping. The only time I would use the multi-track output from SD3 is AFTER I've picked the drum kit and gotten the basic song worked out. Much simpler. -
If you have Dimension Pro installed, there's a usable B3 in Expansion Pack 1 (of the 3 free expansion packs). You can download them here: Free Dimension Pro Expansion Packs 1-3 From the page linked above: Dimension Pro Expansion Pack 1 Highlights: 350 new programs and over 120 MB of new samples and wavetables new programs expand the factory sound set with new Digital and FM sounds, Dimensions, Electric Pianos, Guitars, Leads and Keys, Orchestral sounds, Organs, Real and Synth Basses, Clusters and Harmonies, Splits and Layers, Sweeps, Analog sounds, Pads, Twisted Waveguide patches and World sounds Includes a new emulation of the legendary Hammond B3™ organ(see below for more info) The set includes new wavetables, multisamples and cabinet/speaker simulations Programs designed by Ruben Nievas, Chad Beckwith and René Ceballos The Virtual B3 -------------- Expansion Pack 1 features a new virtual emulation of the legendary Hammond B3(TM) organ. Each component of the original organ, including all drawbar levels, percussion level, keyclick, the rotary speaker, drive and cabinet simulator were precisely crafted to recreate all characteristics of this monster legend. Unfortunate name. I confused it with a pretty good free plugin I already have installed (Metric Halo's Thump).
-
Installs separately. The installer also included all of my purchased Ultra Analog presets for some reason. I just installed Stawczyk's Cinématèque sound bank, which, for some reason, I'd never purchased. It shows up in both VA-2 and VA-3. BTW, VA-3 looks awesome!
-
I have 3 of the 4, so I've gotta pass. Good luck to the eventual winner! Synbiosis is for Chromaphone. Journeys is for String Studio. Angelicals is for Ultra Analog. I had to look up Cinématèque (also for Ultra Analog; no sale, so might as well buy it). Not sure why I've never picked it up. Love Daniel Stawczyk's work. Check out his DNA sound banks for Ultra Analog. Muy bueno! http://stawczyk.com/dna2.php DNA 2 includes all of the original DNA 1 presets. On sale at the moment ($21).

The two I've got that have been updated to iLok (no dongle required) only changed the authentication method. There weren't updates to the plugins themselves. So, stick with the current version, and don't update it to the iLok version, whenever that might happen. The current version is 3.0.6 and has been stable for awhile.
-
$39 gone. Installing now. The installer included all of the v2 soundbanks, which are being installed now. Since it installs separately (like VS-3 did), it probably needs its own set of presets (not shared with the VA-2).
-
No. Not yet, at least. There is also a .REG license file (in a .zip) that you need to download. You just double-click on it, and it will put the license in your registry. There's also an Unregister file included, if needed.

One thing about the Faderport Classic (and maybe the other models) to keep in mind is that it sends out a keep-alive MIDI message about 1/sec. I've had to be more careful to not use MIDI Omni. That keep-alive was triggering whatever VI was armed. Took me awhile to figure out. Now I explicitly specify the MIDI Input source for every VI.

PSP do good work, so for $12.90, I'll give TripleMeter a go.

Now I'm confused on where babies come from. I'm just going back to this. Easier on the brain.

Leave my grammer outta dis. She come an get ya.

I promised myself never to promise myself no more synths or FX. No sense in making a promise that I'll break EVERY SINGLE TIME. Anybody got a needle nose pliers I can use to pull the GAS fishhook out of my mouth? ?
