Just purchased the upgrade without having Loom I. We shall see. EDIT: The Loom II upgrade installed and ran just fine, without Loom I being installed. Since it includes "remastered" versions of most (all?) of the Loom I presets, I don't see any need to go through the Loom I to Loom II route for users new to Loom. I own 3 other AIR synths, so this didn't bother me.

Shesh. Like with SpectraLayers Pro. When the dev moved to Steinberg, and Steinberg permitted soft (PC) authorization for it, AND they let me upgrade from v4 on Magix to v6 on Steinberg for $100, $50 less than Magix' upgrade to dead-end v5, I moved too. I've now uninstalled every single thing that came with the Samplitude bundle they offered to SPlat users. What a waste of $150 that turned out to be. But don't feel so bad now, given SpectraLayers Pro v6. I'm just looking at it like I paid $250 for a v6 license. I've spent way more on divorce attorneys.

Glad you found it! Not to add any confusion, but, for the money, you oughta consider picking up SoundSpot's mastering limiter, Velo2. It's currently £8.95 (£130 list). I paid US$11.34 via PayPal. https://www.soundspot.audio/downloads/velo-2-mastering-limiter-vst-audio-plugin/

What I use (first on an S7 Edge; now on an S10+) to record audio on Android is the Audio Evolution Mobile DAW. They also sell the low-latency driver you'll need. The third thing needed is an OTG cable to make the USB port on your phone the master. Once the audio is captured, I transfer it to my PC and use my standard DAWs. IIRC, the total cost (AEM DAW plus their driver) was maybe $15. I had to buy a new OTG cable for the S10+, but no biggie. Works great with both my PreSonus AudioBox 44VSL and (thankfully!) with my Tascam US-16x08. I really don't know of a better native and not online recording setup for Android. Audio Evolution Mobile DAW for Android Extensive list of supported audio interfaces It may also be possible to use their driver with other Android recording solutions, such as online.

Kein Problem. Viel glück!

Take a look at LoopBe1 (free; one MIDI port) and LoopBe30 (up to 30 MIDI ports; I use this one; about US$20). I also tried loopMIDI, but it suffered from noticeable latency on my system. In Notion or Overture, you would output to a LoopBe MIDI port. In CbB, you would use that port for input to which ever VI you're using. https://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe30.html Thanks to this thread, I noticed the v5.6.1 update for Overture. Will give it another go. It's been crash-fest city for me when scanning VSTs (especially VST3s). Notion has been stable for me.

Well, shiver me timbers and shove 'em where the sun don't shine. And I thought that drug the rabbit gave me was supposed to square my IQ, not take the square root of it. And I deleted my voucher email. Sheesh. ? Well, there's always next month!
-
I just picked this up. If you use the discount code in the email (for the $49 price), you can't also apply the voucher. Still a great deal!

For transparent limiting, I like PSP's Xenon limiter, an oldie-but-goodie. I paid less than $26 for it on sale. Check out the demo at: http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/dynamic_processors/psp_xenon/

"Serendipity" 7/8 Fusion Groove with Piano and Sax
TheMaartian replied to David Baay's topic in Songs
Lovely composition! Being a low-end freak, I'm wondering how it would sound with a bassoon layer (since I can't afford Ian Anderson ). A few years ago, I picked up the Odd Meter Drums MIDI packs from The Loop Loft to help me with those timings. 3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 5/8, 7/8, 9/8, 11/8, 15/8 Lots of fun! -
(up my meds) every little mind goes round and round

I haven't had those kinds of meds in a LONG time! ? -
And I've got a "free lunch" waiting for you at the back door of Mickey D's.

I think they change the password once a year. I requested a replacement and got one in less than 24 hours, over a weekend, no less. Paying for updates is optional; they can be downloaded for free via a like below the paid update link. Paid updates are now $5 each. Cheap. Paying once or twice a year for an update is OK with me, especially when I get as many new features and fixes as this point update provided. To get the new password, I only had to send them a copy of my original purchase invoice. They didn't ask about whether or not I'd ever paid for an update. Serum wave table import and export added for only an optional $5? Bargain! I like the way these guys do business! Oh, and Fathom is a really good synth!

Just like condos in some states, where everything physical is either a common or limited common element, and you're just buying the right to occupy the space surrounded by 4 limited common element walls, floor and ceiling. But... Subs are coming, and from a business perspective, I completely agree with the approach. It all depends on the pricing. And the terms. If you're able to sub on a monthly basis, and quit any time, I think well see a kind of short-term "rental" market develop, where peeps sub for the time they need the plugin/app for a specific task, and then drop it. Just like the cord cutters are doing with streaming apps.

Cubase and Nuendo both require a physical USB-A dongle, so I'll never go near either. At least Steinberg offered SpectraLayers Pro 6 to use the soft e-Licenser; no dongle required. That was the only reason I went ahead and bought it to upgrade the v4 version that I got with the Samplitude deal when SPlat splatted. Well, that, and I got WAY tired of waiting for Acon Digital to offer a sale on the Std to Pro upgrade for Acoustica (adds spectral editing and a bunch of other stuff). So, I just use Std as a standalone audio editor, and have to use SpectraLayers Pro 6 for, wait for it...spectral editing.

WUP is what tires do when they go flat. They go WUP WUP WUP WUP WUP WUP. Just like Waves emails telling me WUP is ending on some $29 plugin. If there's ever a major update, screw WUP, just buy a new license when it hits the inevitable $29 sale point. And then get it from Koby at EveryPlugin for $23.xx! Mwa ha ha ha. Take that, Waves!

Soundtoys tip... Whenever you see a Soundtoys plugin at a really great price, buy it, even if it's not something you think you'll use right away or much at all. Why? I'd been doing that for no other reason than they make really good FX plugins, and a deal is a deal. The surprise came last Black Friday. I owned 6-7 of their plugins, each one bought (Dirty Deeds Done) Dirt Cheap. I was able to upgrade to the bundle (the only way to get the Effect Rack; makes Soundtoys kinda like Scheps Omni Channel) for $65!!!! A smoking deal for the $499 bundle of 21 plugins. They develop a new plugin? I get it for free, as part of the bundle. In total, I spent less than $200. Really good value!

The last big one that I remember was the v2 to v4 upgrade. I upgraded from v2 Editor to v4 Studio for $149. I've never seen v4 Studio cheaper.

Have them all. Chromaphone and Lounge Lizard get the most use. Wish I was better using Strum. Nice background tune while posting!

An update from 2.31 to 2.32 may not sound like much, but this one's bigger than expected, including Serum wave table import and export! Download the update at: https://www.fathomsynth.com/updates VERSION 2.32.0 8/27/2019 Added MIDI Learn. Changed the interface so the user can select any dial and move a MIDI control signal to automatically add a MIDI modulation. Also added a MIDI Learn setting to control whether or not this process is activated. Added Serum Wave Table import and export. Fathom can now load and save Serum format wave tables or any wave table stored as a series of cycles in a WAV file. Added two new settings to control Serum Wave Table processing. The new Wave Table Interpolate setting controls whether tables are loaded literally in serial exactly as saved in the WAV file or if they are interpolated to Fathom’s internal number of waves per table. The new Save Serum Wave Tables setting controls whether or not Fathom saves tables to Serum format when a wave table is saved. Both settings also include an edit box so the user can set the number of samples per wave cycle. Massive changes were made to the processor in this release which eliminate all audio glitches during dial and point movement . These changes are described in more detail below. Changed the processor threading design to eliminate audio stuttering when any edit is made which requires the calculation of an audio or modulation buffer. This includes the movement of wave draw Bezier points, envelope Bezier points, wave draw free hand mouse movements and movements of the oscillator partials dial. Added a new processor setting “Calculate Buffers in UI Thread” which controls the new threading model. The new threading model can be enabled or disabled to the user’s preference depending on which host they are using and how much time the host grants to the user interface thread. Completely redesigned the GUI to Processor interface in regard to all waveform data. The new GUI does not share any wave buffer references with the audio processor. This completely eliminates any potential for bugs or crashes caused by multiple threads accessing the same wave buffer. Redesigned the wave draw and wave table oscillator processors to reduce time delays caused by buffer calculations when dials are moved. Added three new algorithms to the list of wave table algorithms: Crush, Overdrive and Hard Sync. The Algorithms now include Morph, Add, Subtract, Phase, Pulse Width, Pulse Width Power, Crush, Overdrive and Hard Sync. Adjusted the wave table processor so that the number of partials per wave period remains constant when the skip cycle value is increased. This feature is automatically enabled for new oscillators and new presets, but disabled when an old preset is loaded in order to preserve the backwards compatibility for the audio of existing presets. Replaced the default Wave Table with a better sounding analog wave series. Changed the interface so clicking on the LFO Draw modulator graph navigates to the expanded wave draw view like it does for the Wave Draw Oscillator graph. Fixed a bug which caused the edited modulators list to become empty if the GUI is closed and reopened. Fixed a bug which caused midi control signals to be ignored if the signal envelope is changed by the user in the host when the host transport is stopped. Midi input signals are now updated when the host transport is stopped so that any modulation values depending on any midi signal are always updated. Fixed a bug in the modulator smoothing logic which caused the modulated value to jump to a previous value after the modulator is edited or the target dial is moved. This was caused by failing to clear the modulator state after a value was edited. Fixed a bug in the modulator logic which caused envelope smoothing to echo the modulation value of previous notes.

MondoMod is total whack. It defaults to something like Panipulator. But then I started trying the different presets, using an EP VST as a source. Subtle to total audio destruction. Panning. Chorus. Flutter. Wow. Sweeper. Pulsing. Circular. Dirt. Glitch. Not for the faint of heart, or nice, soft, saccharin pop tunez.

I'm pretty much set with Waves plugins, but 2 for $27.28? Took me some time to pick two out. I settled on a couple of toys, Vitamin Sonic Enhancer and MondoMod. I doubt they'll offer anything that I can't do or can't do better with the Soundtoys bundle. But what the hey.

I started with Studio One, but switched to SPlat, for the forum as much as anything else. It was always a good place to hang out and learn a thing or three. Went back to Studio One when SPlat dropped a deuce. It does what I need. The project page is a great feature. Melodyne integration has always been pretty good. And its drag-and-drop support is excellent. Lots of peeps like free stuff, but I'm more of a bought-and-paid-for guy. Weird, I know.
