Cherry Audio releases "Pro Soloist" - $49 Intro Price
Vernon Barnes replied to Solidos's topic in Deals
I was in two minds on this one but as i could get it by upgrading to Synthstack 4 for just over $15 I dived in. I like it, the additional features make it so much more that a straight Pro Soloist emulation, which, lets face it would be a bit basic these days. -
So the deals are cumulative. Any opinions on EZMix. I am thinking about EZMix and a couple of expansions, but then I can probably achieve similar results with the FX I have already.
-
I have had it for ages but rarely use it. After this thread I started it up again in and almost instantly I had a bassline that has grown into a promising song part. Funny the way things go sometimes.

I just had a play with Keyboard in Blue. Its a bit of a one trick pony compared to a lot of Kontakt EPs, but because the amp has be sampled rather simulated which makes a very natural, nice tone. Its very responsive with good dynamics. I probably would not have purchased it but I am very happy to have it in the Musio subscription. If there is a Kontakt version it may be more versatile, I can't say.

New IK Product Manager update for registered users
Vernon Barnes replied to chris.r's topic in Deals
Good timing. I am currently trimming down my download archive and moving it to an external disk, This will free up an internal HDD which I will use for my less used big collections like BFD3 and expansions, Sampletank and Syntronic and freeing up space on my SSD. -
I don't care for the new libraries tab much and have set the default view back to the way it was before the update. At least 50% of the libraries I use are third party ones that do not appear in the libraries and get loaded from the files view anyway.
-
That must have been when I bought it. I checked to see if I already had it, and there it was in its unused glory. It actually sounds pretty good.
-
No brainer at that price.
-
I can't say I am not tempted but the upgrade discount from my VB3 1 will be all but wiped out by VAT and IK's Hammond B3-X has become my goto and I am pretty happy with it. So buying it would be for the ring mod and the "vocoder" function plus some differences in tone. Jury's out!

This is the great strength of CC (and UVI's sub.) I have found I use the things I would have bought far less than ones I would have dismissed.
-
I wondered if it was imminent with the recent update to Opus and the Fantasty instruments. I am looking forward to getting it installed later.

(Not a deal) looking for a brass library that isn’t so cinematic
Vernon Barnes replied to dumbquestions's topic in Deals
Indiginus Blue Street Brass is worth a look. https://www.indiginus.com/blue-street-brass -
Cheaper for UK customers to buy from JRR than from GForce despite the existing customer discount.

I updated to the latest version. The Keyswitches implementation looks pretty good an certainly increases the utility of the player. Unfortunately I choose the clean install option which is supposed to keep your downloaded libraries. Unfortunately it seemed to forget the library paths. Even after reassigning the path Musio did not see the content. I had to download the libraries again.

I tend to gravitate to the EW Gold pianos these days for "straight" piano sounds. And I have plenty of alternatives in Kontakt, UVI, Arturia, and Musio including some interesting prepared and cinematic variations so this is going to have to offer something special.
-
It looks like we will be getting Keyswitching for Musio pretty soon which is something I have been waiting for. It looks like they are implementing it in a way that keeps the memory footprint to a minimum as you only load the articulations you need. https://musio.com/featured-video/?_kx=7bYm_UvUC-D5nnkU-7zfm17lQtGjIg5vkt1bZPzTVKjwj04Cq1orJhWdIT11iUCq.TQPahU

It is, but it seems very good for highly effected parts, it will have its uses! I managed to pick it up for$17.02 +VAT, less some loyally points from Best Service.

So how does this compare to the vast plethora of other Minimoog emulations? My favourite is GForce Minimonsta, Softube's is probably more authentic (and you can use the modules in Modular). NI's Monark is also reasonably authentic. Cherry Audio's take is cheap as chips.

Rain is a "distressed" upright piano library. It's actually very nice when you want an upright with a lot or character.
-
Different. Gforce is more geared towards recreating classic string machine sounds where EW have taken a different road and its quite successful, There is not the same range of raw material as GForce and there is no filter section but with four layers some very diverse sounds can be set up. EW is less tweakable but It sounds good straight out of the box.

Does this mean you can get NKS functionality without Komplete Kontrol? That would (almost) be worth getting a MK3 keyboard for. I always hoped they would implement that for the older keyboards.

UVI Synth Anthology 4 is out - Discover your upgrade offer!
Vernon Barnes replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Probably not your goto for sound design. You can edit envelopes and filter settings etc. but you are constrained by the original sample in the patch and the fixed architecture. That said the tweakability will be sufficient for many people. The layering expands the range of sounds too. But outrageous and outlandish is stretching it.
