  1. Plus point for this is it has loops in various time signatures, not just 4/4 so I am curious. Should I stick to my New Year resolution and wait until I have a use for it before I buy it even if its gong to cost more? A nagging voice says this could have many uses. Its not on Plugin Boutique yet, I will check back over the next few days. Getting the free Carbon Electra synth with it may tip the balance.
  2. Well that resolution did not last long. Cheap as chips, but it will add to pressure on disc space.
  3. Got it as part of composer cloud. I am not over impressed, maybe I need to dig deeper. I prefer Realivox The Ladies.
  4. As Quickload only creates links to the libraries in its folders it works across several locations. So if you create a folder "Pianos" you can drag pianos from several different drives to it and it will create the links, you then have all the pianos listed in one easy to locate place. You could have sub folders for, say, Grand Pianos, Electric Pianos, Uprights etc. The big thing is you create the structure that is logical to you and only add the instruments you find relevant. Things are a bit messier when a library has zillions of NKI files rather than snapshots but its still manageable. Its worth noting that once a instrument is loaded the "next instrument" button scroll through the instruments in the the original folder.
  5. Not bad, Arturia's is nicer but also an order of magnitude more expensive, so this a a no brainer at this price if you don't have Arturia's.
  6. Kontakt's quick load feature is probably more useful if you set it up logically using folders and sub folders. The library pane is good until it gets too full then scrolling through it gets a bit laborious. That said, I wonder if this would make the libraries show up in Komplete Kontrol's main browser.
  7. Oh, absolutely, that is a major step forward, what I meant was loads of commercial presets. They can be a two edged sword.
  8. Gets to the point where its quicker to dial in the setting than it is to trawl through hundreds of presets. Very true of a Hammond but also simpler synths like a Minimoog. YMMV
  9. Well I think I may archive some little used Kontakt and EW libraries to free up disk space and to make browsing easier. I think I have reached saturation point in some categories and have passed up some big deals and freebies recently, but I have on occasion I have weekend, Softube's 72 synth being a recent case in point. So no real resolutions here but I think buying when I actually have an immediate use for something even if its full price rather than jumping on deals may save money in the long term.
  10. Apparently UK citizens no longer affected to the EU tax avoidance directive.
  11. They say Dear customers, Firstly, a very Happy Christmas to you all! The UK is scheduled to end it's transition period with the European Union on the 1st of January 2021, and we would like to give you all a "heads up" that there could be a very short period of time from January the 1st where we will not be able to accept payments from the UK. This is due to the fact that we are an EU company and need to have in place new tax documentation from the UK government. We are hopeful that this will happen in good time, but just in case, please complete any purchases you were intending to before the end of the year to avoid disappointment. This does not affect access to your owned products or the support we offer you. We wish you all a lovely festive period. Best Regards, The Softube Team So there may be a period where you can't.
  12. As you are in the US you should not be affected. Time and Space may experience some delays of other issues with EU based suppliers, particularly small ones with out a lot of resources.
  13. I finally stopped procrastinating and bought it while this deal is on. The VSTi is very nice, I have plenty of other option though and usually gravitate to GForce's Minimonsta so how much it will be used in this format remains to be seen. What particularly interested me is the ability to use the modules in Modular. This seems to have a lot of potential. The oscillators, filter and envelope all differ quite a bit from the ones I already have in Modular I have been having fun with a combination of the Rubicon oscillator and the Moog filter. I also set up a 4 VCO Minimoog like setup. Substituting the Moog envelope generator lets you Moog filters and oscillators with a full ADSR envelop (or two).
  14. Just a head up that software vendors may suspend trade to the UK for a period over the new year due to the end of the BREXIT transition. I have already received notification from Softube and Rhythmic Robot . (and in another sector a Portuguese a wine merchant I have been using). This should only be a temporary measure while new tax regimes are implemented but if there are any deals you have your eye on it may be an idea to act quickly.
  15. Presonus Sphere. I know a lot people don't like subscriptions but I am quite pleased with this, Studio One, Notion and a bunch of extras.
  16. The Cherry is a great synth for the price. The Roland has an extra envelope generator which is handy but its not six times better IMHO. The 106 is a pretty basic synth but it sounds good and of course the simplicity means its a sinch to program.
  17. I don't have Ableton, but I have a few Dulcimers, two acoustic and two electric. Maybe I should make a "cinematic" dulcimer ?
  18. Z3TA is a very capable synth that I originally tended to overlook because of the EDM heavy leanings of presets. If you get down and dirty with the programming it has incredible potential that few others match.
  19. Intresting, I wonder what's different? do you have the last round of Arturia updates installed?
  20. For a while when I insert a Arturia synth in Cakewalk I get an Injection Process warning which appears to be related to the licensing process. I have chosen to ignore the warning and load the synths. Today there was a update to NI Komplete Kontrol. After the update KK stand alone hung when trying to scan the Arturia synths. I tried adding Arturia Software Center and Agent to the exclusion list to no avail. With Acronis Protection turned off the scan ran without issues. I turned it back on and restarted Komplet Kontrol, this time it started normally. As the Arturia Synths have recently been updated it could be that this was the reason and not the KK update? The Arturia synths are now loading in Cakewalk with out the injection warning, this is probably as the Arturia Software Center and Agent are new in Arturias exclusion list. .
  21. I have suspicions this may be related to Acronis Protection. Since a recent update I have had a "injection process" warning starting Arturia synths from Acronis. This may be whats causing the scan issue. Nothing has cropped up on the NI forum yet about a similar problem. I have now turned off Acronis Protection and the scan seems to be running normally.
  22. Just linking this thread as I am having problems after the update.
  23. Well Larry was always going to be first, but I have edited my post as there seems to a problem, at least on my DAW.
  24. 2.5.1(R2) Must have been released in the past few days, I saw it in Native Access today. It seems to be taking a very long time to scan VSTs. Holdups seem to be on Arturia synths. I am minded to stop it and let it run overnight at this rate. EDIT - It just seems to hang on Arturia Matrix 12 V2 for a couple of hours. Has anyone else had this issue? I would warn against upgrading just yet.
  25. Got mine and picked the Post Rock Guitar which is very nice. I am beginning to quite like Strum GS2, I prefer the sound of the OTS and Amplesound guitars but Strum is nice and immediate, particularly the chord detection and a good writing tool. I think I may pickup one or two other expansions while the $19 sale is on.
