  1. Such tools can be very useful for writing and making demos even if they won't make the final mix. On my current project virtual bass, guitar and drums have all been replaced with real instruments, my mock up providing a rough guide for musicians recording the final parts.
  2. I thought this was apt. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLrTNj7hc5Y/?igshid=17lufqmbp1nif I was puzzling yesterday why my EQ did not seem to be making a difference- I was tweaking the plugin on a muted channel, not the one I was listening to. ?
  3. I will look in Cakewalk later if I get chance but from Studio One 5 I can tell you. Stops are activated by a latching keyswitch so you turn them off with the same key that turned them on. This should be the easiest way. I have yet to delve into articulation maps in Cakewalk but it should be straightforward to create one if one does not exist already Stops respond to MIDI learn and I was able to assign a controller on CC14 to turn on and off a stop. Right click on a stop to activate MIDI learn and twiddle the relevant knob to set it up.
  4. I do like G-Force's synths and its good to see them bringing out something new. I already have Arturia's offerings and the free Datasounds OBXD and some stuff in Syntronic so I have the OB sound quite well covered and I won't be too worried its Mac only for now. I hope that will not become a trend.
  5. Its certainly not normal behaviour. Its been a long time since I used Sonar 8.5 but I used organ plugins a lot and still do in Cakewalk by Bandlab and never such a problem. Clutching at more straws I once had a problem with a faulty controller keyboard chucking out spurious controller data ( probably due to a faulty pot.) I had to edit the MIDI event list to remove it. I replaced the keyboard and the fault went away. If the track is in focus data from the controller can affect the VST so its possible spurious events may not appear in the event list. One thing to try is unplugging the sustain pedal and recording a new piece. A defective switch or dirty contacts in the pedal could cause spurious data. Another thing to try is disconnect the keyboard and create a track in a new project in piano roll view. Does the problem persist?
  6. Is this specific to one project? If so examine the MIDI event list for sustain pedal events that do not have an off? Clutching at straws some organ VSTi use the sustain pedal for Leslie speed. If you have imported MIDI from elsewhere it may contain unexpected sustain events. If the original finished on a fast Leslie speed there would be no sustain off.
  7. I wonder how it would work on instrument sounds?
  8. Many of us here suffer from GAS and acquire VSTs like billy-O. I decided to look at my latest project, a four song "EP" and list all the virtual instruments and sample libraries in use. This does not include drum, bass and guitar libraries used in writing and arranging where parts were replaced by real instruments or any effects. 9. Always seems a little crazy one has to download the whole library. Ah well, it will be a chance to try out my new 512mbs fiber Internet connection. I suspect the bottlenecks will be at UVIs end. EDIT - Of my libraries only Synth Anthology 3 had an update, only 13.5GB, its coming down at a fraction of the available bandwidth at my end. (1/10th of the worst download speed test I conducted.)
  10. I am sure this was offered for free at some point. I have it and its reasonable but I have better (more expensive) options.
  11. I really like Codex its one of my favourite synths. Its powerful but still reasonably straightforward and sounds great.
  12. I think its the NKS preview sounds for use in Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol. This is a short audio file for the patch that sounds in the KK browser. If you don't use Komplete Kontrol you do not need them.
  13. The Absynth update is back once its done.
  14. Probably 1.9GB before the NCW compression for Kontakt?
  15. I am another for whom its not showing up yet.
  16. Any of the unfortunates that have heard any of my guide vocals may think the comment was made about me but the person referred to was the illustrious Robert Fripp. https://www.dgmlive.com/tour-dates/2477 In the notes on this collection of takes from the studio sessions for King Crimson's Lizard Pablo Cordero writes. You will not hear Fripp unless you purchase the downloads, the 30 second preview focuses on Jon Anderson but Fripp actually sounds worse than me, but unlike my guides it has not been extensively corrected with Melodyne, I find these King Crimson sessions very interesting. You are not going to play them in place of the final mixes but they reveal a lot about the creative process.
  17. I have thought about getting this as it can be used in Modular but I am not sure it would get much use. The Modular environment would greatly expand the sonic potential but I am not a great user of synthetic drum sounds.
  18. Looks like currently unavailable in the UK due to BREXIT until they get VAT registration sorted.
  19. Fortunately it looks like my broadband will be upgraded to 512mbs before this comes out. I don't think you get all the mic positions with Composer Cloud, but its still going to be huge.
  20. I got the analogue effects with my Sphere subscription. They are nice, particularly the chorus and rotary but nothing to make them stand out fro the crowd.
  21. Thanks, I just updated, I don't recall seeing any notifications until you posted.
  22. The most useful thing about the chord track for me is the simplest. Just having an easy indication of what the chord is at any point in the song. One of the nice, deeper features in S1 is the chord track integration with Melodyne, this can be very handy, or a red herring.
  23. I keep on hoping to see a chord track. I much prefer MIDI in Cakewalk, particularly the PRV, but often use Studio One because of the chord track.
