So after "the last bass I'll ever need".... [UPDATE]
57Gregy replied to Bapu's topic in The Coffee House
Isn't Fb E? The third member of the Am clan. -
Cool. We're all beginners at something. Press P on the computer keyboard while Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB) is open.

What is the interface? What Driver Mode are you using?

You need a new tempo twice; once to change it to your desired tempo and another to change it back to the original speed. Project>Insert Tempo Change.

BandLab Recording what I hear with UA-25EX
57Gregy replied to Paul Logue's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Welcome to the forum. I recommend you monitor from the interface, i.e. don't use Input Echo/monitor from the DAW. The ins and outs look weird to me. Just 1 of each? Did you download the driver from their site? Jeez, what did Windows do now? I can't even paste in a link anymore! I'm sure we'll get it figured out. Lots of people here who can help. -
Please, sir, can I have some more?

Getting MIDI Instruments To Follow Key Change Markers
57Gregy replied to Ian Coleman's question in Q&A
So, following the instructions I pasted in above, I was able to get it to change pitch. Most folks here probably do it without even thinking, but it's new to me. Make sure it's a Groove Clip. Open the Clip Properties on the left. Check the appropriate boxes. Get pitchy! One thing I didn't anticipate was the default key(?) of A. I had to change that to C or it would play in a different key than it was recorded. -
Getting MIDI Instruments To Follow Key Change Markers
57Gregy replied to Ian Coleman's question in Q&A
Are you inserting a marker, or a pitch marker? Using pitch markers in the Track view Pitch markers change the pitch at which Groove clips sound. All Groove clips in Cakewalk that have the Follow Project Pitch option enabled adjust their pitch as they encounter pitch markers in Cakewalk. If there are no pitch markers, all Groove clips play at the default project pitch, unless the Follow Project Pitch parameter is disabled. A. Pitch marker: Groove clips with Follow Project Pitch enabled play with the Root Note transposed to C B. Time Ruler C. Pitch marker: Groove clips with Follow Project Pitch enabled play with the Root Note transposed to D To enable a clip’s Follow Project Pitch option 1. Select the clip and open the Clip Properties Inspector. 2. Select the Clip Properties Inspector’s Groove Clip section and make sure that the Reference Note field is correct. When your project reaches a pitch marker, Cakewalk transposes each groove clip that has the Follow Project Pitch option enabled by the difference between the clip’s Reference Note and the current Project Pitch. To change your project’s default pitch Go to Project > Set Default Groove Clip Pitch and specify the default pitch. Cakewalk transposes each groove clip that has the Follow Project Pitch option enabled by the difference between the clip’s Reference Note and the current Project Pitch. Your project’s pitch changes wherever you insert a pitch marker. If you don’t insert any pitch markers, your project stays at its default pitch. To create a pitch marker 1. In the Track view, right-click in the Time Ruler. 2. Select Create a Marker from the menu that appears. 3. The Marker dialog box appears. 4. In the Groove Clip Pitch drop-down, select a pitch. 5. Click OK. To move a pitch marker Click and drag a pitch marker to a new location on the Time Ruler. I've never tried it, though. And welcome to the forum. -
Welcome to the forum. Since no one else has mentioned it, support for Cakewalk Studio (Cakewalk Home Studio?) ended with the demise of Cakewalk about 4 years ago. This is the Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB) forum. While there are many folks here that can try to help, CbB is not necessarily going to be able to help. Staff member msmcleod asked for a project. He can take a look at it and see if anything is obviously wrong, but there is so much you haven't told us yet, such as the version of Studio you're using, what audio interface (if any), what software synths you're using, what OS you're using and if it's been updated recently. See if you can get him a project and we'll see what happens. Good luck!

Which speakers? The computer speakers or something connected to the Focusrite?
-
I tried the print preview a few years ago with SHS 6 and it would show notes being entered/played while in the other views in real time. Haven't tried it with CbB, though.

If you didn't do it on the new computer yet, it should be done. And welcome to the forum.

I don't know what output 3+ is, but if changing it to 1 makes sound, that's probably the one you want to use. The track you're recording on is called a Simple Instrument Track, which is a combination of a MIDI track and a software synthesizer audio track. The soft synth it's set to is the TTS-1. Did you look at John Vere's video about working with MIDI tracks linked above? In order to hear sound from the Korg, insert a plain, old MIDI track. Set the inputs and outputs of that track to the Korg. Plug headphones into the Korg. Listen on the headphones. If you want to hear the Korg's sound on the computer speakers, that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. Do you have an audio interface (that's a fancy sound card designed for use with recording programs like Cakewalk, with lots of different input and output options and better performance than you would get from a common computer sound card)?

What do you call a beatnik that lives in the river? A hippiepotamus.

Song tracks (audio) suddenly silent (Solved)
57Gregy replied to christian.landstrom's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
What is "Solid State"? Your audio interface? See if you have something muted in there. -
Re-saw To Have and Have Not the other night. They don't make movies like that anymore. The favorite? It might take the rest of my life to figure that out.

On FB I still get friend suggestions for Jimmy Gentry, RIP.

Are you expecting to hear sound from the Korg? Is it connected to an amplifier and speakers or can you plug headphones into the Z1 to hear it? Or are you expecting audio from your computer speakers or headphones? The way you show it as connected will send a MIDI signal from the Korg to the UM-1 and computer DAW then out to the UM-1 and keyboard to play the notes you play. (?) If the audio output of the Z1 isn't connected to anything, you won't hear it. Also, the Z1 seems like an old piece of hardware, possibly made before USB was a thing. It may not work with a MIDI-to-USB converter. If it was instead connected to an audio interface which has MIDI ports, you would probably get better performance. Are you using an audio interface?

I don't think I would want a jar of pearl jam on my table.

I remember you saying you were there at the same time as we were. As you may be able to tell, we were kids; I was 12 and Mike was 13. Plus, we had just returned to Frankfurt for our second tour. Later, my first 2 concerts were there, Grand Funk and Ten Years After at the Messe in '71 and '72.

So this young news reader was announcing upcoming events. "And next week Rio Speedwagon is going to be at the auditorium". WRAL channel 5 in Raleigh. I'll see if there's a video.

Adding automation to a split clip
57Gregy replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Or, skip all the hassle and move the clip to another track. It looks like you have plenty to choose from.
