It wouldn't be sending anything to an audio track, but to a soft synth you inserted and directed the MIDI to, which is then output to an audio track. Unless that's what you mean by 'audio track'.

These days they're focusing too much on the dancing. "Gotta get these steps right! Autotune will fix the singing." -
How to merge two tracks consecutively into one output file
57Gregy replied to Alan Megna's question in Q&A
Meaning, I think, you can have the 2 takes on different tracks, the guitar effected, the voice, not, and the voice track after the guitar track. They don't have to be on the same track. Export or bounce, and you will have 1 continuous track, guitar with FX and the voice without. -
By passing instrumental section white voice recording

I'm still not sure what you want to do. You have a music track. You want to record speaking over the music track, but not hear the music while speaking. Is that close? If so, you could use automated mute on the music track while you're speaking, or a volume envelope to lower the music track sound while you're recording the speaking part. -

If I understand what you want now, hover the cursor over where you want to start talking. Right-click, select 'Split'. Drag the right part of the clip to the right 16 measures. -
Thanks, Erik, or Superrabbit. Or Alien Drummer. ? Discovered how to find the MB info using the command bar, which led me to the MB manufacturer's web site, which showed me that the MB model is printed on the MB which I could see and read through the cooling holes. ?

PaulCW was last here in June of 2020. It's unlikely he will respond. Did you try clicking on the files? -

Mute the instrument tracks? I don't know anything about arranger tracks, but know that works in other views in CbB while recording. -
Thanks, found the motherboard info. Looks like it will support only 4GB. Will investigate further.

Yes. How does one do that? ? I see that there is a lot more to selecting RAM than I thought there would be. And I'm a sophomore when it comes to the computer's guts (I've added memory sticks to another computer and a FireWire card and a video card).

Thanks, Jack. I'll look it over.

I should add that I'm not a power player. I don't use a lot of synths or effects. I just want something I can record with reliably without glitches in this 64-bit world. I'll be using a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 third generation interface.

In my retirement (now semi-) I am not yet able to afford a new computer. I Inherited one which we thought would be newer and faster/better than the off-the-shelf HP I was using that recently died. Turns out, it is about the same age as the dead box. I thought about adding some more memory, but it only has 2 slots(!), each with a 2 GB stick. Even worse, they're DDR2. I see DDR2 is still available in various memory amounts, but wonder if it is even worth trying to drag this machine into the 21st century? It is a NZXT box 9555 GEV, W 10 Pro (22H2) installed this year, Pentium dual-core E5800 3.2/3.2 GHz. I think slamming a couple 4GB sticks in it won't hurt, but what do I know? I'm a salesman. Thanks for any advice.

Just so you know, you're talking to the creator of AZ Controller.

Make sure the interface and CbB are using the same sampling rate. Welcome to the forum.

What software or hardware synth is making the sounds. Press 'P' on your computer keyboard for Preferences. Ensure that setting is to the audio interface or sound card you want to use.

I believe you can create and save Effects Chains and use them in any project again and again, no need for 2 projects to be open. "Effects chains Cakewalk lets you save and load audio effect plug-in chain presets called FX Chain. An FX Chain can be nested within FX Racks, renamed, moved between tracks, buses and clip FX Racks or saved to disk as FX Chain presets. Figure 447. An FX Chain is a container that can include multiple audio plug-ins."

MXL 990 or MXL 991 into an E-Mu 0404. Or both. That's all.

Coincidentally, I was watching a documentary last night about Max Steiner and how he pretty much invented movie music. I fell asleep before it ended, though, so I don't know if the good guys made it.

Display issue with vst fx and instruments
57Gregy replied to Andreas Giesen's topic in Instruments & Effects
The Preset box is divided in two; the top is recently used presets and the bottom is all available presets. I think. I can't t help with the scaling issue. Or the empty slots.
