Can Cakewalk automatically save a copy every time I save?
57Gregy replied to sean72's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Can you set it to save versions to an external drive? -
I would. Eventually, you're going to have to render all your MIDI to audio if you want to listen to the song on anything other than your computer. In fact, I render almost as soon as I record, just to eliminate cumulative soft synth slowdowns (on my old computer).

Have you tried using the Insert menu at the top instead of putting it in the effects bin? That's so 2002.

Hmmm....not picking up my guitar recording

Do you mean the DAW known as Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB) or the phone app Bandlab? Windows updates often change your settings without warning. Did you check the inputs to the track you're recording to? -
Latency, LatencyMon and Audio Engine dropout
57Gregy replied to Harley Dear's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
As easy as clicking a few buttons. You can Bounce to Track each MIDI/VST track creating an all-audio project, archiving each track you don't want to use, or Bounce the entire project to a single audio track, which I think would be simplest. That way you can archive all the other tracks, but still have them available for change in the same project. -
Learned "Strutter" with this band I played with in high school. I had no idea it was KISS.

Glad you got it working and welcome to the forum. Why are you using 96 kHz?
-
Personal preference, of course, but that's one of the first things I turn off.

Finally! Something to sink my teeth into.

The easiest way, I think, is to grab the upper corner of a clip, either right or left until the cursor becomes a triangle. Drag the triangle left or right to create the fade. Right-click it to change the shape of the fade.

Just trying to figure out where we are.........

Currently, I am in Raleigh, North Carolina. Really, a little outside the city. An unincorporated part of the county. Closer to Garner, actually. Fuquay-Varina is trying to muscle in and annex the area. I guess I don't know where I am. ? -
Welcome to the forum. I wonder why you have to sign in to use Cakewalk by Bandlab? I don't have to. Do you mean you're trying to download it and can't log in? Or do you mean Bandlab?

Reproducible bug: Synth automation not automatically visible
57Gregy replied to GreenLight's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I have never touched that "Display Automation on" setting in 20 years of Cakewalking, and it still pops up in the Insert menu as the default. It may not have had it way back then. Music Creator Pro 24 doesn't. SONAR Home Studio 6 does. The "Ask This" box refers to the entire Insert box, not just the "Display Automation" setting. If you have the settings the way you want, you can uncheck that and never see it again, unless you want to change things.- 25 replies

I heard a line of dialog from a TV show the other week and have been trying to put it in here even though it's not a line from a song. It should be. Pam, talking about her co-worker Cyril, "His ba!!s are made of pu$$y".

See what I mean about ignorant? ?

I hovered the cursor in the preset box, which brought up the icons for load and save. I saved it under that name (no offense; I'm the ignorant one... about EQ and other aspects of mastering) and it was available for reloading.

In the Playlist GUI is a small 'clock' button at the top. Click that to change playback behavior.

So, we were relaxing in the warmth of the day after Christmas when my roommate Anna decided to do a little cooking. She turned the oven on and went to her room for a few minutes while the oven preheated. She came back and went to put her food in the oven and she said "Greg, why is the oven doing this?" I went to look and where the heating element was mounted to the box of the oven by a thin, steel clip, it was arcing like a welder's torch and smoking like a chimney. Yikes! I tried to pull the stove away from the wall to unplug it, but it was too heavy to do quickly, and the thing was starting to catch fire! The oven knob was turned off, but it was still red hot. I grabbed a dishrag from beside the sink and tried to wet it (the park has been without water since Christmas, but that's another story) and all I got was a dribble. That was enough. I threw the rag on the heating element and even though it was wet, it still caught fire. I yelled at Anna to turn off the breaker for the stove, the box is behind her bedroom door. She cried back, "which one is it?" I didn't know from memory, so I went back there and none of the breakers were marked. There were 2 pairs of breakers ganged together and since I knew it was a 220-volt circuit, I pulled both of those to the off position. That didn't stop the fire, but at least the element began to cool down. I grabbed some oven mitts and tried to get the element out (they're supposed to just pull out) but it wouldn't come out. I twisted and jerked the thing, but now the mitts were catching fire! Holy smoke! or words to that effect. I ran to the door and tossed the gloves into an empty flowerpot on the deck. It had some water and ice in it from previous rains. I went back and started pouring more water on the conflagration, but it was still weldingly hot, white hot, and the water was taking its time flowing from the faucet. Eventually, the fire subsided with enough water and smothering by the rag. I opened the windows (30-something degrees outside) to air out the stench of electrical fire + wet rag, brewed some coffee and life goes on.

By passing instrumental section white voice recording

I still don't understand what you're trying to do. You want your Cakewalk Arranger arrangement to play while recording to the non-Cakewalk Arranger Track View? -
I wonder if the MSoundFactory is starting a standalone synth when you insert the VSTi which is also recording and playing the MIDI. Stranger things have happened.
