$25 for this one would be a steal. They haven't dropped it below $100 yet - so with a $75 voucher is the best you can get so far after many months on the market. The $75 voucher also takes an insane amount of consistent spend to get to that tier and goes away quickly if you don't keep it up . Outside of a generous gift (or buying the voucher at a discount) this one isn't exactly cheap to get. Anything below forever $29 should be an instant buy for anyone that doesn't have it yet (and doesn't have FabFilter). I'm expecting they will treat this one like they did with the Amek 9099 where it won't hit below 99 (pre voucher) for almost a year.

I'd give it the trial period to see what you think. There are a ton of tone shaping options inside. Part of it will be related to if you bond with the workflow.
-
This would be the same for everyone. I'm really surprised they didn't have a quick dot release to remove that name from the installer. I also understand there is an update to the nam loader that should hit the next update so surprised they didn't simply wait.
-
Can't confirm "exact" but it basically was from what I recall. This product has been available to demo for a long time or free for complete users. There is a lot inside. Once they get the NAM loader rock solid this could be a force to recon with. Wish you could drop TONEX in the stack, that would make it insane

⏱️48-Hour Secret Sale: Get 75% Off on HoRNet Plugins!
Brian Walton replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
He gets praise because his plugins use zero copy protection, can sound on par with a number of higher tier brands and are very cheap. While I agree more focus needs to be put on reliability of the tools (I have a couple that have bugs that make it unusable which is very rare for me) but others seems to perform just fine. -
Nembrini SOUND MASTER CUSTOM TUBE GUITAR AMPLIFIER $19.99 (
Brian Walton replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I have many of the NA plugins. I captured a few profiles with TOneX to then compare to real amp captures using the same pedal. It was a fun experiment but the best NA stuff I came up with didn't have the same fun factor as the best real captures. In a world without Tonex, it was good enough to use. Now the plugins likely won't get launched with any frequency. I do think there is a market for it though if the price remains reasonable on sale. Not everyone will want to live in snapshot world. Though I've found Tonex (pedal form) to be the product I've waited decades for. -
Melda Weeklies - MDoubleTracker, MReverb, MReverbMB, MRingModulatorMB (-50%)
Brian Walton replied to Kirean's topic in Deals
It goes on sale for less than $30 a few times a year. They also walk to the beat of their own drum and don't seem to care or monitor what other vendors do. Mastering the Mix while they have been around for a while feels like a fly by night company by comparison. And anyone trying to keep up with waves never ending sales is spending wasted time that could be resources creating and supporting a product -
That was just the standard early access message, if you clicked on the more details of the release you would notice that no new features are added and it is a long list of bug fixes. If you haven't heard the news once this one gets the official release this will be the last update as the Cakewalk by Bandlab free version. The TBD model for Sonar (the future state of updates to this DAW) will be the platform for new features going forward.

Depending on the studio setup, for me this pedal basically changes that approach. It becomes the pedal you load a variety of amps in and then you just bring a pedal / effects to boost or add color as needed. The other amps and DI options become obsolete. This is the tech I've been waiting for. The only real issue is the time it takes to profile gear.
-
Not sure but honestly if you dive in with SE you may realize you really want the pedal which comes with Max. I own both SE and Max and it may surprise you that out of the 50 patches on my pedal I think about 6 of them are IKM ones. The rest are either my own creations or 3rd party either from ToneNet or 3rd party purchase. All of which SE can handle.

I actually prefer Video Pro and have been waiting for this one. Don't get me wrong it misses some legit features but basic edits, UI and workflow I prefer looking at VideoProX. I come from a Premiere Pro background.

Agree, and it also isn't available for sale yet. If they get rid of the big brother data privacy stuff, data collection, phoning home, give a good liberal authorization system, etc, I'll likely grab it to get rid of my last tie to WAVES. But the terms during the beta were far less than ideal, IMO.

Interested because it looks cool but seems pretty unlikely it does something that MSaturatorMB doesn't do or that I really need MB saturation in the first place. Vertigo VSM-3 is also cool and have that but also had the same realization that MSMB even has more control with the type of harmonics and where they are applied.

I've got a forever 29 but I'm waiting for something that looks cooler.

Zoom H1n Portable Handy Recorder Kit
Brian Walton replied to Eusebio Rufian-Zilbermann's topic in Deals
No, see my new note. They had a number of H1 models. Look up H1 and H1n there are some differences and not sure how many versions of each they had. H1 ran off a single AA for many hours, this one seems to be 2Aaa driven. -
Zoom H1n Portable Handy Recorder Kit
Brian Walton replied to Eusebio Rufian-Zilbermann's topic in Deals
Yeah sort of. They discontinued the no accessory version which you can pickup for about this price. Looks like they will only have a with accessory version going forward which will list for about $120 and sometimes go on sale. $80 is pretty reasonable. I have a gen 1 and it has problems with the mic in for line level stuff. Totally useless straight out of the box. Hopefully they fixed for these. Also the gain adjustment knob on the top is a good idea on paper but in the field is terrible since it can be easily adjusted and slight movements can make or break the clipping range. Gen 1 didn't have these but I have a few H6 which have 4 of those knobs and it can be a problem if the device isn't out of the way of potential adjustment. -
It has the repair assist in the standalone but I don't recall it in the plugin version in RX7 elements.
-
I had RX7 elements (and some versions prior to that). I don't recall them having the De-Reverb module before. They have taken away the stand alone version in this one but they added the Assistant function to the Plugin version. Based on the marketing the D-hum now has an adaptive mode. I didn't see much of anything else advertised as new. I bought it expecting a resizable UI update at this point, but if it exists - I don't know how to make it work.

Oddness with Plugin Boutique account (serial numbers)
Brian Walton replied to Starship Krupa's topic in Deals
My theory was going to be you bought an extra copy by accident when they put it on super sale. However the $9 was an audio deluxe exclusive not PB. I had purchased it about a month prior at a higher price. -
Yes, and sometimes before the end of the current month.

I found some good IRs sounded better than the results I got from this thing. (was surprised as I find other Nembrini products to be pretty good) YMMV -
75% off IK Multimedia SampleTank 4, now $49.99 instead of $199:
Brian Walton replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Don't really want the foot the bill for a new interface though it needs one. I also think they could reduce the file size a ton as many of the samples seemed like they were a bit redundant and changes the end user could make with effect tweaks instead of baking it in to a new sample. I like the idea of what the platform offers and while it gets some comparison to the NI platform it does cost a whole lot less on sale for quite a bit of content though in a closed ecosystem which makes it feel like a different product category. -
United Plugins 4th Anniversary Bundle $ 90.41 ($199 MSRP) 4 plugins
Brian Walton replied to TheSteven's topic in Deals
Yeah the bundle was also different just an observation that these bundles make a whole lot more sense when they happen to be direct. As for the discounts when buying them via 3rd party, I know some of the free or super cheap ones I've gotten through 3rd parties did apply to bundles I've gotten. So don't know if they changed something. Outside of some rare sales and month of release, UP pricing usually isn't completing.- 4 replies
