  1. Honestly doubtful but maybe some machine learning...there is a difference and many confuse the two. That said, who cares he is basically just asking for some clips that will hopefully give us a cool product. VSTs that sound like an unprocessed guitar are sorely lacking - and I mean that actually sound like a real guitar to a guitar player. Buy asking for a boat load of the real thing, maybe he can fix that. The reward here seems super generous. I'm going to take a few of my guitars and see how long it takes and what happens. Seems like I could knock out a few in a single hr. Based on the ask. The only concern I have here is he isn't asking for dynamic playing which I wonder how it will impact authenticity.
  2. My experience is money is better spent with 3rd party packs than going MAX. I own MAX due to the pedal purchase, but had the basic version before the pedal came out. While there were some amps on the MAX list I wanted, turns out IKM didn't capture them well. 150 slots in the Tonex pedal... I think 6 of them are from IKM (three of which will likely get the boot as I update options I have again. All this said, the pedal is where it is at as that gives a physical object, low latency and also the full software package on top. Also note the number of 3rd party packs I have is way above that MAX with jam points buy in price.
  3. It seems it has lots of amps that I don't recall in v1, thus the question about the difference. Not only is the UI different - pretty sure there is different stuff to not just the ability to run v1 inside of amp locker
  4. Yep, $10 but other than curiosity about the Komet amp sim (big Komet fan and ToneX has next to nothing there), I just can't shake the fact the suite would never get used since I have TONEX and a bunch of after market packs.
  5. Can someone name one great mix that required the use use of Soothe 2 to make it good?
  6. Perhaps the only plugin I can think of that I think is worth full retail.
  7. Well if you bought v1 of Sasquatch it was included, check your user account download section Boz has some glitches with the cost of a product. Sometimes it correctly says $0 if you own it, other times it does not, and gets even more unusual when you are dealing with Bundles, where I own all the plugins in a bundle but the amount for each plugin and "upgrade" prices are out of wack from if you owned them individually.
  8. interesting move, wonder if they are going to "pull" the CM one out of the Computer Music pile with this move. Or no longer provide updates to that one, etc.
  9. Hopefully you responded with a long list of some concerns.
  10. Far better this way, as you don't have to sign up for yet another email list if you simply put in an email you don't really use.
  11. I think the word on the street is that there are no longer "generic" vouchers at any tier.
  12. Watch all - but the fun stuff is around the 5:00 mark for how it can work across the entire track quickly.
  13. How does it compare to the results of the sibilance remover in Melodyne 5? That is what I've found is best of bread. Of course it is also the most expensive option if you only are using it for a De-Esser.
  14. As a first time customer you simply have to wait for the 50% off week, use a 20% off referral code and sign up for the newsletter to get another $10 bucks off That takes the price down to $12ish to unlock the free bundle. If you buy something without the 20% off referral it may negate your ability to use it later as the idea is to draw in first time purchases.
  15. While I agree, I'm pretty sure FL is among the most popular DAWs out there from what I've read.
  16. There is also a free non multiband version.
  17. Have demo'd a number of them. Not a metal player here. Thought all of them I tried out were over-rated, not bad just not worth anywhere near the asking price. ToneX is where it is at. That said, for Free - I'd certainly demo them and find what you will get the most out of with that and QC.
  18. While I've experienced this, I'm not fully convinced this is a problem with the format itself (pointing instead to developers not doing it properly) as there are far too many VST3s that do work just fine.
  19. Well VST2 is set to no longer be supported by the company that developed the format so others could follow. It does have some other advantages such as the ability to not waste cpu when. Signal isn't passing through it.
  20. It was supposed to be min $125 with the new change. Glad to hear it wasn't enforced.
  21. PressReader listed the date as Oct, I didn't do the research to dig deeper. Yes it has Slammer as the give away from what I saw.
  22. Press reader is still on the oct issue going to need a reminder again on this one!
  23. Yes sorry I have mine also but what you don't get is the x3e the last patch that felt like a stable product Of if you bought an upgrade to producer you wouldn't have install discs
  24. If it is unopened there is no way to know if Cakewalk will give you the registration code. From this distant memory the box contains a serial number, then you need to give that to Cake to get a registration code. Once you have both in hand, it can be off-line authorized. Since they discontinued X3, it would be a bit risky as Cakewalk may not give you the code you need to actually unlock it at this point. I've seen an unopened box show up on the market before - but it wasn't cheap - assuredly more than the new Sonar will cost. Also note they also were no longer shipping discs, therefore you also have the battle of getting the installer if they are not registering new accounts any longer. I went through my account and downloaded some of the installers yesterday to make sure I at least had an option if things go south here.
