@Jan Schmitz sorry to hear that. you'll find yourself in good company here. fwiw, it most likely fixable, but it mos def never should have happened in the first place...

There could be some dependency on how any plugin is coded (as all plugins are not the same). The Liquidsonics UI appears to be pretty simple looking (and well designed). ime, if it works as expected elsewhere, there's a higher probability of some specific issue with your system configuration. Graphics card drivers can be a problem ime, and at least once, had to roll back from the latest driver. Liquidsonics has a good reputation, checking with them seems like a good idea.
-
no issue with Liquidsonics UI here @100% or 125%. perhaps an issue with a graphics card/driver?

been using the VREV-305 Vintage Spring Reverb since it came out, find it to be great sounding, versatile and a bit unique... a go-to for getting acoustic instruments to sit in a smaller space the Dozer-Drive is a nice sounding two-trick pony. Flywheel is also up there, find it to be less "cloudy" than most other tape emus.

same here, never received anything close to a reasonable upgrade offer. never understood why they expect someone to pay twice for these after renaming it a "collection". (ya i know there's some extra fairy dust/updated pixels in there, but from what I could hear it was mostly better efficiency/algo management? on the 'saturation'). keeping a running list of "best in class" and finding capable alternatives for most everything in their catalog (and for sure all are more cost effective.)

i've been told to check this out, but haven't demoed it yet.

i need one as well, this startup seemed to have a modern take on it. https://uturnaudio.com/

Plugin Alliance: PA ALL BUNDLE 2022 - R2O (Rent-2-Own Version)
jackson white replied to MusicMan's topic in Deals
Comp LA and Comp G are great takes on classics, and not that anyone needs another eq, but EQ550 is quite versatile. Dimension sounds good enough that I'll go for the deal on Modula. The Echoson was great sounding, but had another, holding off on that. Comp670 gets used as a placeholder for the AA F/C, not quite giving me the "goto' vibe/edginess. they all come with a nice set of well thought out and highly usable extras, including the "scribble strip". jmho. -
hmm... kinda liking the direction for this one. the Varus and Red kits are nice options and the Classic kit sounds pretty great. finding the clips which focus on single kit pieces to be more helpful than previous demos. cymbals still not working for me in general, but there are some keepers in there.
-
@SVSX alright then, was an issue for a few people, IFAIK, the official line is; "You can use USB iLok, no internet or UAC needed." = iLok needed for remote laptop work. I still need to confirm if UAD supports iLok machine authorization.

@winkpain double checked Melodyne again, seems to be working as expected in the latest release. my previous experience could have been project specific (corruption as it was an older project) or perhaps "high speed" double clicking, but sounded very much like your case. so maybe Spectral Layers specific?
-
sounds like a UAD "requirement", check their forum for further details...

should know better than to check this forum... but does anybody have The Black Album Drums? not using it for metal, looking for a kit with decent top and bottom tom mics. the demos aren't helpful and asked on the BFD forum as well. there's only 1 or 2 other kits that even offer this, but the bottom mics don't sound anything like what I'm used to.
-
yep, 'clean" = as in very well recorded. AD2 (that came with Sonar?) was pretty meh for my taste and the SD3 kits always felt like I had to scrape off a layer of processing before getting to the real drum sound. have yet to find anything else even worth considering... hopefully they'll survive their self inflicted strategy. $49 is a real deal imho.
-
nice, so a matched pair then? but no Fatso to go with them? putting your UADs on sale? yep, the most useful purchases here as well (mics/preamp mods)

50% off Arturia V Collection 9, FX Collection 3, and Pigments:
jackson white replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
i wish. drum libraries are the biggest software investment by far here, but they also get the most use. unfortunately for my preferences, it's also the category with the fewest quality options. the FX3 Collection looks like a great deal with good takes on standards plus some unique offerings, not my normal cup o' tea but liking the potential for 'different' with Fragments. Coldfire seems like it should be part of the collection given the '_Dist' prefix, but it's the newest, most likely holding off on bundling that while they can. -
this is a good one in addition to the trio of classics (1176/LA2A/670). don't own it, had been working with it on a partners rig. however, been using the Kiive Xtressor lately. not as 'edgy' as the UAD, but finding it to be just fine with extra features/flexibility, using it more on lead vox/acgtr than the || drum bus that it's known for. edit: a timely review noted elsewhere in this forum, BF pricing $64.99 here. had the ELI "original" on the wish list, but price and iLok requirement have kept me from pulling the trigger. jmho.

@Promidi thx for the reminder, just checked again and it's working as expected on the current project fwiw, my comment was referencing an older project with a rather convoluted automation scheme for a plugin with a shedload of parameters and cryptic/generic labels. Noting automation curves now remain visible after closing and re-opening folders. I'm sure that's a graphics issue, but previously any open automation lanes would lose the curve if you closed the folder and then reopened it, at least on my system. still +1 for the OP
-
same with renaming automation lanes, doesn't seem to stick on my system
-
still no integrated autotrace?
-
believe it's until Dec 1.... this looks interesting, but a proper demo makes the most sense to sort out any comparisons...

BFD3 still gets used reliably every day in our network despite the issues (and hearsay from some non-owners). It's a staple in all our DAW templates for the simple reason that it sounds the best, based on a background in tracking acoustic drums. the rollout a year after being acquired by InMusic from Roli was an unbelievably miserable screwup with one of the worst DRM implementations i've ever had to deal with and directly affected active -and- previous projects. Some (one?) user went so far as to claim they successfully sued to get their money back for all purchases. InMusic has since managed to fix the most egregious insults to the existing user base, but it took well over a year, without much to offer otherwise. They claim to be working on M1 support (betas in test?) but it runs fine on Win10. No clue or expectations on VST3, but tbh, not an issue here. There were some issues with some expansions (mismatched samples, mixer channels, etc) but the core program works as expected. many of us prefer the current (vector) interface, as pretty pixels don't make it more usable or sound better. ymmv? as for sounds, we've owned and tried AD2, SD2, Slate in the past, which are ok for duplicating stock/canned/sounds reminiscent of some favorite artist, but they've never cut it for our needs. One of us even took on Melda/MDrummer as a candidate (based on what they did with the piano), but never got on well enough to get the desired results or recommend it. SD3 is probably the most feasible alternate (= expansions with "raw" sounds), but kept weighing that investment against a good mic while pulling up existing projects and bouncing the audio down to avert any potential future disasters. (the increase in file space is a very small price to pay for peace of mind >> best practice for every project.) would be happy to be proved wrong, but not expecting a BFD4 anytime soon as there hasn't been much wrt updates/promises lately, but could be a bit of shell shock as the forums were pretty brutal. fwiw, InMusic has come out with a new expansion since the InMusic acquisition and at least a couple of core FXpansion founders are still on board and appearing to fight the good fight. that said, it's hard to beat the price if high quality drum sounds (especially cymbals) will make a difference in your projects. probably more so than another saturation plug or mastering eq, or most of the alternates. jmho.

What is you current favorite bourbon, beer or spirit?

there is some serious truth to that. https://www.peacemakermovie.com/ and unfortunately a pretty serious toll on your health. (full disclosure, film made by friends of mine) -

Orr, Bourque, and Bergeron for now.
