Hi Jack - I sang along with Elvis on that one, so I think it is pretty close. Where do you hear things that need to be lined up? - always interested in making things better. Steve

A song from 1979. Elvis Costello, from his 3rd album ‘Armed Forces’. Inspired by the rise of the National Front and the Quisling Clinic in Wisconsin. Elvis recorded his vocal after a “night of carousing”. Original Produced by Nick Lowe. This version performed and produced by Steve Keith at Baselines Designs Studio. https://baselines.com/?p=6466

Yes! All the changes sound great.

Sounds good Gary - I like it. For my personal preferences I would do this: - Tame the reverb particularly on the vocals. Dryer I think would sound better. - Kick too loud and maybe reduce hi frequency component (paper sound) - Harmonies a little less panning - Tame the ringing toms.

Hi Nigel! Thanks very much. I love the piano. The old one (15 years at least) was a mess. Steve

Hey I know what you mean about vocals. I really wish I could sing but it is always a struggle and never sounds good enough to me. But…somebodies got to do it LOL.

Nice groove Jane. Steve

Very cool - sounds great. Your vocal reminds me of someone, but I can't think of who it is. Clapton came to mind but that is not right. It sounds nothing like Warren Zevon, but I can hear him doing this song. You get great guitar sounds. Steve

Very cool. Music to program to.

I like the off-beats, but I think they need a bit of tightening up. I'd speed it up just a touch, but that's just my preference. Good song.

I like it. I like the panning and the unexpected notes.

Nice song. I listened to the remix from Jan 15. Sounded really good to me. Steve

Nice job - it's a genre that I particularly like.

Nice groove. Remember the idiocy goes both ways in politics. An open mind sure sees that in spades.

Huge Beatles fan so I love this song. I would bring the bass up and add more low end to the kick. Great job!

I like it - different. It has flavors of Dear Prudence in there (which I love). I like the panning. It works in my headphones. Nice! Steve

I liked it David. I think it could be made more dynamic. Don't ask me how, though, because I am not really sure - I think the parts that are there are good, but somehow they could make more impact. Image widening? Panning? Tonal Balance? All possibilities. I think the feel I am going for is to see the orchestra in my head on stage while it is playing. Right now, I see me sitting with a glass o' wine and the turntable spinning. Does that make any sense? Steve

Nice groove - great song to help with a snowy day here!

Nice harmonies and the reverb on the main vocal works. Good tone on the acoustic as well. What mic setup?
-
Nice chord changes Jack. I agree with David - Film Noir.

Good song Philip. You should consider building it up from scratch. I know, a lot of work, but you will probably always wish you did. Steve

Thank you for listening and leaving me a comment, Makke! Steve

You had me at the walking bass line LOL. Really nice tone all around.

Some time ago I heard this song somewhere..

Sounds really great Anders, such a nice version mixing power and laid-back into the same offering. Not easy to do.
