Thanks Jack!

This is song 2 side 2 from Private Lightning, from the recently found studio tapes. It alway made me think of the period right before Christmas. https://baselines.com/?p=7238

It is a great song Bjorn, one of my favorite albums of all time. I just did a Google maps trace down Abbey Road. Someday I hope to get there in person. Steve

Some people have reported problems getting to the Bandlab link for this album. I've made it available here as well https://baselines.com/?p=7231 Our drummer in Private Lightning, Scott Woodman, found the tapes of our album as it was on our last day at AIR Studios in Montserrat. This was before the inept master and release process ruined everything. We spent 1 month in the studio and played the whole album the night before we left. We thought that we were all set and would be able to continue as a band long into the future. It was not in the cards as they say. This will give you an idea of what Private Lightning was really about. I hope you like it. https://www.bandlab.com/steve2k2/albums/8bf9d8d7-06b7-ef11-88cf-000d3a930b95

Thanks Jack. I tried to copy what they did. Each of the three harmonies was done three times for nine vocal tracks. Then I asked @kiwichrys to do one for each Beatle as well, which really helped on Paul's high part. I used Nectar on all the vocals, and also the Capitol compressor. Then I put a little delay on them (1/12, 1/16) with Sonitus, and some light reverb with Hitsville from UAD.

Thank you! I love the Beatles, and even though I never want to ruin one of their songs, I really like doing them.
-
Thanks Andy! I love this song as well. One of my favorites from my favorite album.

Very cool. I think it sounds real good to me regarding the mix. Like the panned guitars. Might try a little more high on the vocals (maybe the bass to), but really just nitpicking. Good work. Vocal style fits the song to a tee.

Nice one Bjorn. Love those voices agains the great lead guitar tone. Recently I had to upgrade my old iPhone 7 - I got the 15 and last week just pointed it at the stars. Amazing the pictures it produces with no extra work. I zoomed in, and it's the first time I've seen the Pliades since I was a younger man and my eyes still functioned better. I also took a shot of Orion, and I swear I could see the horsehead nebula in the sword. Good work, I enjoyed it.

What a great guitar tone! The change into country was awesome. Your vocel fits right in. Mix sounds great, harmonies are real nice.

That lead synth drills right into my brain (in a good way). Nice work.

Vertigogo with video (flashing stuff and spinning stuff warning ha)
steve@baselines.com replied to treesha's topic in Songs
That was really really REALLY cool! The 'no thank you' was a great idea. The video really meshes well with the song. My mind went in several directions I don't know why. Petula Clark, Alfred Hitchcock, The Waitresses Christmas song. Perhaps it's just a case of mental vertigo! Nice work. -
I haven't read what other people have said. It's got an evocative beat and driving bass. Sounds like it is mixed pretty well. I usually like more structired stuff, but this has definite possibilities. I think it needs a compelling storyline to pull everything together. Try some of the AI sites to try and see what they can supply for lyrics. Maybe even a talking vocal.

Nice chord progression Jack.

Nice song, but it's pretty hard to deny that particular theorem LOL.

Thanks for watching Bjorn. Looking at those first transatalantic videos really highlights how far we have come! Steve
