  1. My Black Beauty Custom was made there in 83. Someone on the old forum from my area out here bought it. Everyone loved that guitar and said something was wring with my ears but I never cared for it. I can't remember who bought but I hope they love it. It was a really nice looking guitar and truly road worn. 100% original.
  2. That's not his couch, it's his foot stool. ??
  3. Been thinking about it. Well, the bender part. Tonight is my last night of bachelorhood. My wife has been gone a month and comes home tomorrow night. Last weekend was the last chance I'll have to sit down and record until next year some time. I have a lot to finish up when she gets back before her family arrives for the holidays. Can you believe it's almost October already? I hate it. ? That's why I ordered the guitar with plenty of time to arrive so I had it for the weekend. It never fails with me does it. Remember the Lionel train? The appliance parts and repair? The cooktop? It's just how the world is now and I think a lot of things have fallen apart because of the pandemic. I am really glad Ed's bass arrived ok. From what I'm seeing from Amazon and other places there was a lot of people buying and trying and returning stuff the last year or so. Did I mention the new preamp I bought 2 weeks ago that looked like it was pulled from a dumpster and the power supply was missing? It's just the way it is now.
  4. That's what threw me off. Seriously. I was thinking man, if this is real it should look a bit more professional. You know, Mr. PhD and all that. But then I thought, well, if it was fake, it would indeed look a bit more professional. I missed his Monday ~ Friday 8am to 5pm deadline so I'll have to wait till monday. I'll probably forget all about it by then. LOL
  5. It did. Three times. ? First time it was DOA and I was told to take it to a dealer and have them send it out to be fixed. I ungraciously declined their resolution and they hesitantly agreed to send a replacement overnight. They screwed the delivery up 2 more times and in the end they ended up recalling the delivery and just gave me my money back. So in the end, it all worked out and you are probably right. It's probably a good thing the deal didn't go through. I don't blame anyone and I don't get too ruffled over material things like this. It's just one of those funky things that happens in life. ??
  6. LOL! ? It's definitely made for a very specific purpose. You really shouldn't run it through a guitar amp unless it's something like the Mustang modelling amp where you can turn off all the amp modelling and run it as if it were a PA. All of the room, mic, and amplification emulation has already been done. It's really made for DI recording or playing live through a PA. I was hoping to have to avoid screwing with mic and room placement when recording my acoustic. I don't have a decent room and always used the output from it to go DI and it sounds exactly like Willie Nelson's signature sound. I swear they designed this guitar to sound exactly like his. It's great for Willie, not so much for me. ? Awesome! Pics, tracks! Hurry! ?
  7. If I told you what happened with my Fender Acoustisonic you wouldn't believe me. You'd think I was making it up. Let's just say, in the end, I never got one and I give up trying. Maybe some day I'll wander in to a mom and pop shop and there'll be one on the rack. I'm glad your bass is on it's way to you. ??
  8. I wish this was a joke but it's actually true. I ran across this a while ago. I honestly think this garbage comes about simply by someone sitting at a PC saying, "Ok what ignorant outrageous opposite reality thing can I concoct today to make people click on my link.". Then low and behold some re-todd actually does click on it. It gets passed along and next thing you know it's warped in to something real. I miss living in the middle of a 4400 acre farm with no internet up in Iowa. I really do.
  9. Brian May's Official Website It looks like it really is him. You can email him and he responds. But you know how easily everything can be faked. Has anyone had any experience with this site and contacting him? Is this really his site and is that really him responding? When other people respond for him they always put their name in the response. And he signs the responses when it's him responding. I have a serious question I've always wanted to ask him about the band but would feel really stupid if I sent an email and it turned out to be a fake site. It looks like it could be real, but then again it looks a little generic. I don't know. Thoughts anyone?
  10. They gulped it down by the jar full at the gym. It's actually very good for you, especially if you are trying to build muscle. Of course you have to watch what else you eat or you'll bloat up. But yeah, the trainers and the staff who would work out there would walk around at lunchtime with a spoon eating a full jar. All Weird Paul has ever done since the early 80's is video's like this since he was a little kid and has documented his entire life on VHS. He was obsessed with documenting everything. He streams on Twitch using a VHS recorder with a converter to connect it to the internet and stream. He's not very good but whatever 'it' is he kind of has 'it'. He's very entertaining. This one is really good ... But this one ... this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Seriously. It says it all. "You say you're looking for a lover, you say you're looking for a friend. Well maybe you'll find some in the garbage. Maybe you'll find some in the trash." ...
  11. If you eat too much of this $hit ... you get what you deserve ...
  12. I believe there is only one way to save the planet. Less people. I can't, and shouldn't go in to detail here on a music only related forum, but if you read between the lines (or headlines) and follow the agenda's being thrust upon our youth, the powers that be are attempting to fix it as we speak while still maintaining their power. Music, gov., relig., none of it will save the planet. Only going back to a natural state with less intrusion by humans will save the planet. And it doesn't actually need saving. It will take care of itself one way or the other by naturally disastrous means. We're just a tiny blip of an inconvenience in the eyes of the planet. It's been through far worse naturally and survived. Even thrived. That said, while we're here, absolutely music can make the world a much better place. But it can't save it, sadly. Just my thoughts on it. I know music has certainly saved my life.
  13. That thing must be murder on his forearm. Whew!
  14. SD3 is all I've ever used. That and some free samples someone posted on the Presonus Exchange that worked really well with their built in sampler thingy. They had a great community over there until they locked it down, went mod-poo-crazy, and drove everyone away. Crickets now. I think they're down to 1 cricket actually. I see they even deleted their version of Ed's random thoughts thread. It was larger than Ed's here. They simply deleted the entire 'coffee house' type area. Anyway ... the samples in SD3 are as real and good as any I've ever heard. And I can manipulate midi enough to make them sound real-ish. I struggle with drums and bass to be honest. My drums are always linear no matter how hard I try and my bass skills suck. Just being honest. My favorite I always use in SD3 is Groovy Kit Brushes iirc. I've used it so much I have the frequency memorized that produces feedback from the snare mic.
  15. You keed, but that's all I've ever used. That and the acoustic bass in TTS-1. It's really good. *deleted the rest of my drivle.* They may be old but those SI instruments are very usable. Except for the drums one. That's kind of cheesy IMHO. But the keys, strings, and bass are very usable. And save you hundreds if not thousands in wasted money on sample packs that you'll only ever use 1 or 2 presets of.
  16. I just saw a limited edition Tony Iommi SG. You could even order a special left handed version. ???????????????
  17. Jenny because it's bass number 8,675,309? ???
  18. Regarding the price and the headphones, I was joking about the state of your state. I like the head on that. I couldn't see the 4th tuner on the other side. I really like that look. Our post orders got rearranged, that's why I asked how did you do that. I think you're getting a great deal on a great bass. That's a good idea about the luthier. The main thing I've noticed on guitars that sit that long is the truss rods seize and can no longer be adjusted. That can be a major headache. I have several that buzz during certain times of the year and they can't be adjusted anymore without major surgery. I'm in the middle of trying to remember how to quantize an audio bass track off the transients of an audio kick drum track in S1-V5. Grrr. I actually wrote a tutorial on how to do this years ago and now I can't find the thread on their archived forum. So much for thinking, "Oh, I'll just post this here in case I ever need to review it.". ?
  19. Wow! How did you do that? LOL! Hmmm .... *rUbBiNg My ChIn*
  20. P.S. ... why am I only seeing 3 tuners in the photo?
