I never knew the names of the guys in the group but I knew some of their music. Everyone, well, everyone of a certain age and above, knows Pictures Of Matchstick Men over here. Sad to hear he's gone.

To be honest I truly don't know. He never talked about police related things and I never asked. I also worked for him for 10 years. He owns his own business and does the police thing part time. I can say it took a lot to get busted for anything in our tiny little town because we all knew each other so whatever happened it must have been a serious incident. My best friend from home was the chief of police and not once in the 40 plus years I've known him has he ever talked about work and I never asked. We never talked shop and it's probably why I got along so well with them. But I sure took a lot of heat for being friends with them. Zero friends in school. Never invited to parties. I was shunned because of my brother and the guys I was in a band with. In the end I'm glad.

The Air That I Breathe by Albert Hammond. It's the original and I've always thought it was the best version out there. I always loved Phil Everly's version too. I like them both equally actually. Never cared for The Hollies version. Sorry if this has been posted before. This thread is too huge to check. Hah.

I see this is an old thread and someone revived it a few hours ago. Then I saw your post about Christmas music and it reminded me of home and this story I'm about to tell. I come from a very small town in Northwest NJ and we played for one of the local businesses there every year for many years. I was with the group for 9 years and we played it every year and they played it long before I did. It was for a local school bus company owner we all knew from town. He had a huge party for all his drivers and employee's. His wife loved opera and he would hire a well known opera singer from NYC every year to sing for her while we played the background music. It was extremely stressful because she was a true professional singer. But the rest of it was a great time. Incredible meal for free, got paid a lot to play, free drinks, absolutely beautiful banquet hall with a 15 foot wide 6 foot tall fireplace with a massive real Christmas tree decorated to the top. I loved it. My brother is a police officer in town and the bus company owner and him didn't get along. I won't go in to details but let's just say the guy liked to drink. A lot. We're half brothers with different last names. The bus company owner found out we were brothers at the end of the party one year and never hired us again. Amazing how petty and selfish people can be isn't it.

I've been with my wife for 23 years so it's been a while since I've seen one of those but it looks familiar. Hmm. Can't quite place where I've seen one. ?

I ordered a 3 month supply and just started taking it yesterday. Everything I read said it takes about 8 weeks to see any real results. I'll keep reporting back here every week. I'm not big on supplements and have my doubts about all of them but I figured I'd give this a try. I know what he goes through and it's horrible. I also have bone sound transfer or something like that. Can't remember the proper name. Basically the tiny bones fuse together and you hear certain sounds in both ears when they do their tests and in real life. Another result of inner ear infections. Eats away some and fuses others.

And to think, I once worried about losing my hearing.

Here's his video on compression.

I use that Ozone 9 Advanced plugin he showed and it does help a lot. The curve he shows is adjustable for different styles of music and iirc you can scan the EQ curve of any recording and use it. I grabbed O9A on sale one time and it is truly an amazing set of plugins. It's a huge resource hog though.

This is an excellent vid on the topic of hearing loss and how he mixes. He and I have almost identical problems caused by the same thing. I think mine is worse than his though. Overall I've lost 35% in my left and 40% in my right. He mentioned a supplement he takes and it brought back a significant amount of hearing in one ear. He didn't mention it by brand so I know he's not just trying to sell it and get a cut. I found some online and ordered it. Lots of good info and well worth a watch. He has a lot of great videos. His video about using compression completely changed how I approach it and made an enormous improvement in my mixes.

I saw a video recently about MIM Fenders. Apparently it and the U.S. factory are only 50 miles apart and work very closely together. IOW there is very little if any difference between a Mex and U.S. Fender. There are some fantastic guitars coming out of China for pennies on the dollar. Check eBay. If they can make a high quality guitar and ship it overseas and make money, just think of how bad we're getting screwed buying U.S. made.

My Black Beauty Custom was made there in 83. Someone on the old forum from my area out here bought it. Everyone loved that guitar and said something was wring with my ears but I never cared for it. I can't remember who bought but I hope they love it. It was a really nice looking guitar and truly road worn. 100% original.

I need to stop watching "pro" engineers & producer gear interviews

It only works on air guitar or air bass. -
That's not his couch, it's his foot stool. ??

Been thinking about it. Well, the bender part. Tonight is my last night of bachelorhood. My wife has been gone a month and comes home tomorrow night. Last weekend was the last chance I'll have to sit down and record until next year some time. I have a lot to finish up when she gets back before her family arrives for the holidays. Can you believe it's almost October already? I hate it. ? That's why I ordered the guitar with plenty of time to arrive so I had it for the weekend. It never fails with me does it. Remember the Lionel train? The appliance parts and repair? The cooktop? It's just how the world is now and I think a lot of things have fallen apart because of the pandemic. I am really glad Ed's bass arrived ok. From what I'm seeing from Amazon and other places there was a lot of people buying and trying and returning stuff the last year or so. Did I mention the new preamp I bought 2 weeks ago that looked like it was pulled from a dumpster and the power supply was missing? It's just the way it is now.

That's what threw me off. Seriously. I was thinking man, if this is real it should look a bit more professional. You know, Mr. PhD and all that. But then I thought, well, if it was fake, it would indeed look a bit more professional. I missed his Monday ~ Friday 8am to 5pm deadline so I'll have to wait till monday. I'll probably forget all about it by then. LOL

It did. Three times. ? First time it was DOA and I was told to take it to a dealer and have them send it out to be fixed. I ungraciously declined their resolution and they hesitantly agreed to send a replacement overnight. They screwed the delivery up 2 more times and in the end they ended up recalling the delivery and just gave me my money back. So in the end, it all worked out and you are probably right. It's probably a good thing the deal didn't go through. I don't blame anyone and I don't get too ruffled over material things like this. It's just one of those funky things that happens in life. ??

LOL! ? It's definitely made for a very specific purpose. You really shouldn't run it through a guitar amp unless it's something like the Mustang modelling amp where you can turn off all the amp modelling and run it as if it were a PA. All of the room, mic, and amplification emulation has already been done. It's really made for DI recording or playing live through a PA. I was hoping to have to avoid screwing with mic and room placement when recording my acoustic. I don't have a decent room and always used the output from it to go DI and it sounds exactly like Willie Nelson's signature sound. I swear they designed this guitar to sound exactly like his. It's great for Willie, not so much for me. ? Awesome! Pics, tracks! Hurry! ?

If I told you what happened with my Fender Acoustisonic you wouldn't believe me. You'd think I was making it up. Let's just say, in the end, I never got one and I give up trying. Maybe some day I'll wander in to a mom and pop shop and there'll be one on the rack. I'm glad your bass is on it's way to you. ??

I wish this was a joke but it's actually true. I ran across this a while ago. I honestly think this garbage comes about simply by someone sitting at a PC saying, "Ok what ignorant outrageous opposite reality thing can I concoct today to make people click on my link.". Then low and behold some re-todd actually does click on it. It gets passed along and next thing you know it's warped in to something real. I miss living in the middle of a 4400 acre farm with no internet up in Iowa. I really do.

Brian May's Official Website It looks like it really is him. You can email him and he responds. But you know how easily everything can be faked. Has anyone had any experience with this site and contacting him? Is this really his site and is that really him responding? When other people respond for him they always put their name in the response. And he signs the responses when it's him responding. I have a serious question I've always wanted to ask him about the band but would feel really stupid if I sent an email and it turned out to be a fake site. It looks like it could be real, but then again it looks a little generic. I don't know. Thoughts anyone?

They gulped it down by the jar full at the gym. It's actually very good for you, especially if you are trying to build muscle. Of course you have to watch what else you eat or you'll bloat up. But yeah, the trainers and the staff who would work out there would walk around at lunchtime with a spoon eating a full jar. All Weird Paul has ever done since the early 80's is video's like this since he was a little kid and has documented his entire life on VHS. He was obsessed with documenting everything. He streams on Twitch using a VHS recorder with a converter to connect it to the internet and stream. He's not very good but whatever 'it' is he kind of has 'it'. He's very entertaining. This one is really good ... But this one ... this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Seriously. It says it all. "You say you're looking for a lover, you say you're looking for a friend. Well maybe you'll find some in the garbage. Maybe you'll find some in the trash." ...
