This is a nice, pleasant tune to listen to. Very pretty. The background violins are a nice touch. I really like the mix and the soundscape. I like sparse. The lead instrument sounds artificial to my ears; not unpleasant but programmed. The main issue is note release is abrupt instead of the gradual fade you expect when hearing guitar.

Look at the track icons. I believe the top, split icon indicate a simple instrument track while the bottom keyboard icon indicates a split instrument track. A simple instrument track combines midi and audio tracks into a single track while the split instrument track keeps the two tracks separate.

@Nigel Mackay Each channel output is stereo. So the plug-in likely is counting the 8 stereo outputs as 16 outputs.

Great video. At 21 + minutes this is a longer video than you normally do but it's worth watching every second.

I ran across an interesting website called Audio Movers Dot Com The website's claim to fame is for pay, real time remote collaboration using a transmit plug-in on one side and a link most browsers can point to. What I found most interesting is the claim of user adjustable latency based on the internet connection. In this time of isolation and with remote collaboration more common than ever before I'm wondering if anyone has used the product and can share any experience they've had with it.

@Josh Wolfer I'm sure for some users the multiple workarounds will be sufficient. If an in house solution is not added then users in search of a solution will find the workarounds invaluable. I do appreciate it when people provide workarounds they are aware of that addresses an issue. My intent was to provide an insight why an in program solution is more elegant. Most people I know have a particular way they want their tracks labeled both inside the program and when tracks are exported. It will be difficult to compete with an in program solution in this case. @Bill Phillips I don't think the developers are too worried about the program becoming unmanageable; otherwise why would this Feedback Loop forum section exist? But I agree that randomly piling on features just to be able to say there are new features is not a good idea either. The Feedback Loop sees a lot of posts. Actually more than I first thought there would be when the forum first opened. I've sometime wondered what more does a full featured DAW need? I don't automatically support all threads posted in the Feedback Loop. I rarely support a request that has DAW "X" has this feature and so should CbB. I don't support requests that want to modify how an existing feature works unless I use the feature and understand and agree to the why behind the request . I don't hesitate to ask clarification so I and others can understand why implementing the request may benefit many users. As an aside, if you have a post suggesting a better score editor, post a link to your post. I don't write scores myself but I'll be happy to look at the post and either support the request or ask questions so I can understand the request better. In this case, the request makes sense to me. It's not unusual for a person to export many variations of a song project. It is not unusual to create a custom mix for each participant at the end of a tracking session, create many variations of a mix for sound libraries or mixes that meet the specific requirements of a cloud media provider. I can imagine each of those situations having stringent naming requirements for the tracks or mix. If you engage multiple times with someone it makes sense to me for CbB to have a track label editor to save time and assure requirements are always accurately met. At the very least it makes sense that I, the user, should determine what method is followed to label exports.

For those going huh? Cakewalk by BandLab's Jesse Jost demonstrated an upcoming CbB feature called Articulation Maps in this video.

Power Toys, StExBar, Power Shell are all answers that exist outside Cakewalk by BandLab. Imagine accessing Preferences, selecting "Export Track Name Editor" and then set up exactly how you want the track names to read when they are exported. There could be multiple editor pages so you could swap pages to manage different needs.

Will the Drum Replacer add-on that is available for download with Cakewalk by BandLab work?

CD burner programs and other programs that export files in batches typically have a batch file title editor that applies whatever naming convention the user desires. The screen shot below is from the free file naming program, MP3 Tag. Essentially you want a file naming editor that lets a user select various track and project properties, reorder the properties as desired and the file naming editor automatically applies the track names during export.

The car gives your vocal performance a distinctive sound. I think you encountered a common problem with using a pre-recorded performance though. The range of the song is a little high for your voice so your voice drifts flat.

Midnight Blue was my first listen to a Wookie song. Full bodied sound and well mixed. I particularly liked the choice of the Superior Drummer 3 brush kit.

If you have the free LoopBe1 virtual MIDI driver then you can direct ChordPulse's output to a sound module or anywhere else you desire. ChordPulse recognizes LoopBe1 as a valid output. Navigate to Options > Output ... You can also set what group of midi channels you want to use.

I've got to admit I haven't seen posts containing links bold enough to announce that the linked product is a piece of crap. ? Kind of refreshing. You can try submitting a request to support@cakewalk.com. The problem is CAL is a legacy feature but it is depreciated and has not been supported for more than 10 years.

Yep, Very much a one man show, and it's not even his day job. Plus his main job is not programming or as a musician. I've had the program since shortly after it was first released and am a big fan. By far one of the prettiest and most practical program interfaces I've seen. Check out the "About" +++ HERE +++

Long time - no upgrade. Whoopee! The prior update was September 6, 2017. This is a great little program.

I was surprised when I viewed Obedia's Cakewalk by Bandlab Training webpage. Hopefully the webpage is still in the process of being updated. What's there is not very inspiring. You don't have to scroll very far down the webpage until you encounter a lot of information about Presonus One. Unfortunately many of the blog posts feature ProTools. Really not much information about Cakewalk by Bandlab on the public pages of the website.

My favorite "isolation booth" is my clothes closet facing a bunch of winter coats and my clothes behind me. It gets pretty dark with the closet door closed and no overhead light. ?

Note that starting with version 2020.09 build 006 (the current version as this is posted) BandLab Assistant is no longer needed to obtain updates. V2020.09 Release Notes The Cakewalk by BandLab Help menu has the capability to go online, check for updates, download and install future updates. The Cakewalk by BandLab Help menu also has offline activation capability. You can "export an authorization request" (a token file) to a memory stick, use an internet enabled device to enable the token file and then "import the activation response" to reauthorize the offline DAW program.

Excellent effort. I would try and eliminate the pops and crackle in the beginning and end. Sometimes you see someone singing in their vehicle but this is the first time I've heard someone use a vehicle as an isolation booth. Welcome to the forum!

@David Sprouse, I agree. @whoisp The acoustic sounds like you used a built-in bridge piezo pickup. You may want to consider using an external microphone to add a little wood to the acoustic sound.
