  1. I wonder how many of these I could go if I didn't buy all of this DAW stuff.
  2. I take it if you already have it, nothing will happen. No pop ups or even a middle finger. I tried 2 browsers.
  3. Installed.....well no but if I could use my PA voucher...........
  4. Same here since many of us hoard. There is another person on this forum that is very good at that. Then there are fan boys which I ignore.
  5. You don't know that. We are talking 128. How do you measure those 128 layers? When does layer 64 not sound exactly like layer 79. 82, 67, .........yada, yada, yada, Basically I'm not gonna fall for a library with zillion of layers thinking it is more realistic. Last I heard people don't listen on high fidelity systems. These are people who are not into DAWs. I get it when there are few layers like soundfonts but our ears are much different than the listener. These people listen on phones. No one does 3 way speakers and high end receiver.
  6. Cherry picking the extreme ........... of course my extreme is 128 different velocity layers. People don't perform 128 layers. Yet you can sell a library and charge whatever you want if you advertise 128 layers.
  7. Hmmmmm not as much as you think. A flute can't play pianissimo in the piccolo range. If you can I'd love to hear it since I can't to this day. Next you'll tell me a flute can play fortissimo at middle C. My point is a human can't play 128 velocity layers. How do you think they sample a piano? No human is touching it. But no.........the average person wont detect many things. Do you think they notice such things on a phone?
  8. How many people in the street gonna say, "Nice piano. Too bad it lacks velocity layers." A live musician lacks velocity layers. A flute in it's low end and extreme range lack velocity layers.
  9. I'm not so sure smart is the word when deals section is not used properly.
  10. Over-saturation and mass production. There are also genres that do not lend itself to live performances. It's a long list of reasons. Streaming of often free and some don't care to own a download or even a CD. There's also affordable streaming services. Technology seems to devalue the human. I've learned to value even very amateur live performances because it's real. There's so many variables. Interesting that the well known bands are going concerts in their 60's. I think their attitude is music sucks and we need to do something about it. Plus the covid era created a higher demand for tech.
  11. How do we know if this developer wasn't already wealthy and it's a hobby? Price does not always = quality. When something doesn't work it doesn't take long for an update. Usually when a developer gets more "resources" ends up having a stuffed shirt ruining it. He's now having more videos on the products which brings popularity.
  12. My favorite to use outside of a DAW https://www.seventhstring.com/index.html
  13. New version is 11.3.12. Only needed if you have certain hardware.
  14. I guess it's using your eyes more than your ears. I still have the Sony one installed and the Steinberg one. I might have opened them once or twice. It's about have too much stuff and being too stupid how to use them.
  15. Go to KVR where the plugin brokers are. You can always give a license away to friends, family, or whatever.
  16. Usually I have to watch the Reaper Blog to understand most of the updates.
  17. Synths are a dime a dozen. It's that shiny and new thing everyone goes for and claim it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sire some are great for making strange sounds but most of your EDM producers stick with Sylenth, Spire, and Serum. I guess if you want unique ones go learn Reaktor or Max4Live or even Kontakt.
  18. LOL. Let me reiterate. Cakewalk is free and still rocks. No such word as rocksed.
  19. Part of me wants this only because it's a deal. I don't really need to collect Cherry Audio everything.
  20. I live in the desert where everything is dusty. If I bought one it would eventually look charcoal grey.
  21. I remember when CM has Computer Muzi as a free DAW.
  22. This is why I avoid many Linux developers. They don't even make that easy. Sure the Linux fanboys will disagree but for some it's a waste of time. Cakewalk is free and it rocks.
  23. You'd be surprised at the non supported hardware from Yamaha. NI has now left the loyalty building. Sometimes I think of getting those Arturia controllers. They seem to be a loyal group. How long will it be for some stuffed shirts to buy them and only look at spreadsheets. Give Image Line some credit after buying UVI, Melda, WA, for not interfering. BTW their CEO is a former NI employee. Pro Tools Expert had an article about what if someone buys Pro Tools. They had some things to say about Izotope and NI.
  24. I could buy one of these with groove cash. I already have a sub but for some reason I tend to buy more from Udemy. Groove3 are usually far more polished but I tend to like the ones by Jason Allen on Udemy. As for plugin tutorials on groove3 they always use Logic which my brain can't always translate to another DAW. If they are done in Logic I only give it 3 stars. A lot depends on the plugin. The real value in Groove3 is all of the Hal Leonard material.
