  1. Pass for me. (so far) Too much stuff which probably also means spending on more SSD space.
  2. Enshittification - when successful companies are bought and the stuffed shirts make it worse. I guess VMWare may be on that list. Izotope and NI are getting on my sheisse liste with Native Asshat and Product Poortal. Poor eco system but great software. Too many developers spend time updating their distribution proccess. I have to folder with a least 20 shortcuts just for downloading and upgrading software. It's great when it works but when it doesn't it's a hassle. Some people leave companies when they are bought because they smell the crap ahead of time. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/izotope.com At what point does one throw out the baby with the bath water? Hopefully the developers of certain products quit and start their own companies. Some companies are getting like sports owners of habitual losing teams. They look at profits but never winning. Hats off to developers where you can download directly.
  3. What was updated. I'm afraid to do any NI updates/
  4. Unfortunately the stuffed shirts in the DAW industry haven't quite figured that out. Eventually the sub service price increases have the hobbyist finding alternatives.
  5. That's the worst part of it. I never install the originals. They added some small stuff from Spitfire. People use Simpler far more than Sampler.
  6. That's a very good deal. The only drawback to the Suite is there's an additional 70gb you will rarely use. The only plus is Max4Live. It's probably worth effort to learn it but there are also great 3rd party devices for it.
  7. It's a crapshoot that on 3 systems any NI update will be flawless.
  8. Sometimes in FL Studio I use FL Keys. It opens right up. I use pianos most of the time only for sketching.
  9. So does the redeem part mean registering with MS and you don't have to install it.
  10. I use this one when I need just a piano instead of scrolling through the ones I have. I bought it years ago when it was 50% off.
  11. Looks like the update was removed.
  12. Well I was burned when I upgraded Gigastudio 4 and a month later it was useless. These threads create all sorts of conspiracy theories. If they alter the new Sonar to make it less familiar with the current DAW, I'm out.
  13. I don't think it was ever freeware. You could use it unauthorized. I've had a Reaper license since it came out.
  14. Outside of that few realize Toontrack can be a money pit.
  15. smaller file size would be on mine..........IK has become bloated.
  16. They wont. So many have dropped Waves that were not sponsored by them, Then again at the turn of the century they did another bad policy that led to people dropping them. The worse that can happen is they are taken over and stuffed shirts will still have faith in the sub model. The problem with sub models is prices also go up.
  17. The strong point is their plugins. Everything else Waves sucks. So far their quality overrides their crap business model. At some point hopefully that ends since there is so much out there with superior licensing.
  18. I still use Soundforge. It seems like the Suite is a good deal since you get the Steinberg SpectraLayers Pro 10. Too bad Waves is on my sheisse liste. I rarely buy from EP.
  19. It's rare to see loops with this kind of licensing these days and probably wouldn't dent my top 20 producers of loops. You won't see these at vendors that specialize in selling loops.
