Well they could probably still do it as online only.

Another developer who thinks bloat is a great marketing tool. With all of the VSTs and presets out there I couldn't do another synth rompler.

Music Production Suite 6.5 upgrade $104 from any version
kitekrazy1 replied to kitekrazy1's topic in Deals
Those aren't really going to ever be upgraded. If they threw in their 2 new plugins I'd go for it. Having bundles with other developers products (NI,PA) seem to be more of a turnoff for me, It's like a pricey Humble Bundle deal. -
With ads and reviews it was just like another deals forum. I would basically read the reviews.

Music Production Suite 6.5 upgrade $104 from any version

I'm not sure it's worth it. You get some reverbs that are still tied to iLok. The throws it off since I have Izotope software on 3 machines. Plus the NI stuff makes it less enticing since most of us have Driver. Guitar Rig, no thanks since it will be in the Komplete upgrade. Other than the fancy EQs it's just repetition of what we already have. -

If you get the Music Radar newsletter you'll be fine.

I have all of mine on HDD and they load fine.

So is anyone gonna post the deals link the everyone think is going to be removed? I'm not sure it violates anything.

It's not the plugins that are useless it's just me

Computer Music magazine closing after 25 years
kitekrazy1 replied to Sander Verstraten's topic in The Coffee House
Bummer. I've wasted money on magazine subs. -
I think life can go on with one less free plugin.

I just use it to buy other things. It's getting to the point of buying another SSD or start removing stuff I don't use. Then there's always the option of buying a 12 port powered hub and litter it with external drives. Developers are into drive bloat. Even with games from the W7 era were 8gb and now games come in at 80-100gb. I look at the size of EW Forbidden Planet and think how synth rompers are overrated when it comes to the space they use. I'm amazed with what people do using Spire or Serum. Give NI credit for having their sounds in a compressed format to reduce disk space.

A voice among the herd of fanboys. People forgot about those Mac users. Some of the best plugins on the planet complimented with the worst licensing. So they create the race down to zero market. Imagine if they were like IK, Melda, Kilohearts licensing but charged $99 a plugin? I guess they are afraid to take that risk and the sub only risk failed. They do get the new user with their race down to zero who starts down the road of plugin hoarding. A lot of their older stuff is still top notch.

There's another Humble Bundle deal that would get removed from this forum. It is slightly older software and comes with SoundPool loops.

I Went to a High School Football Game Tonight
kitekrazy1 replied to bitflipper's topic in The Coffee House
The small town I lived they got rid of the high school. That kills a community. Football games were a high school reunion for many and it wasn't about the quality of the team. I hated marching band. That's why I never wanted to teach high school. -
I Went to a High School Football Game Tonight
kitekrazy1 replied to bitflipper's topic in The Coffee House
I still remember playing football back in the Midwest. I now live in the desert and these games are played in over 100 degree weather. Schools start in early August. I don't know how they do it. You have to make it to the NFL to play indoors. This month the temps do drop enough after sundown. There is also the Cactus League where future MLB players have evening games starting in July and you can see those games for free but who wants to go see a game when it can still be at least 108 at night. -

Many have speculated about my decision to step back. There’s no single reason, but primarily, at 65, I feel it’s time to pursue more creative and enjoyable ventures, which are already gaining traction. Additionally, with the rise of AI and evolving technology, I believe the business model for sample library development no longer aligns with my goals. Kirk Hunter

Oh I definitely get that. I'm a retired educator. We are so use to everything being immediate and fail to realize something like that takes effort. So is learning how to use a DAW.
