  1. A fun listen!! I especially like the tribute to Canned Heat - La rueda que mueve al mundo. Google translates it as: The wheel that moves the world. We're on the road again!!! ?
  2. I think if you hold 8dio in high esteem, rather than provoke a battle, it would have been more helpful if you shared your positive experiences with their products. If you want to "unbookmark" that is a personal choice, but bringing up the issue the way you did--pitting one forum and its participants against another forum and its participants--doesn't really tell readers why you would recommend 8dio products, why you think their prices are not over-inflated, why you think their marketing strategy is a good one, etc. As for discussions of marketing/promotional practices, as a consumer of products I have found quite a number of those discussions very useful. If you are not interested, that's fine (its a matter of personal choice), but I would feel at a disadvantage if that kind of information was withheld based on your personal preferences.
  3. I think you are onto something here. So, I was inspired to look up "Who coined the term "Metaverse?" Google came up with an article that included this as part of a chronology: Very much looking forward towards seeing your take(s) on "The Metaverse."
  4. Yes; there was a version in the SONAR Edition of Session. If you registered it with AAS, it might be on their site; if not I'd encourage you to contact them. They might ask for proof of purchase of SONAR; not sure. Someone has posted a spreadsheet of what plug-ins came with SONAR if they say you need to send proof such as a screen shot from SONAR showing the serial number.
  5. Does YouTube have a censor-type program you can run them through in advance of posting them to avoid being cancelled again? If not, and you want to be bold, there's a whole range of things you can talk about in a video or two or three . . . !!!!! ?
  6. I looked at Flintpopes's offerings. I saw a lot of Kontakt (Full required) which I don't have, but he did have 3 mini Pigments 3.5 Packs for a total of 26 presets. I have 4.0 so only 3 of the presets use samples I don't have--two use Amethyst samples and one uses an Onyx sample. One layer on all 3 still works and I can tweak it to replace the sample I don't have. I'd classify them as ambient / experiments. I can use them for projects. Zip files with a *.pgtx file each, easily imported. Re: Hearing Issue: I can hear them below about 3 KHz. If there are any high pitches, I'd have to wait for one of my kids to walk in cover their ears and say "WHAT IS THAT LOUD HIGH PITCH SOUND?!!" True story, that happened a few days ago when I was auditioning a patch. Yes, I know, I can also use a spectrum analyzer. I should probably have that on all the time anyway. Anyhow, I wanted to update this thread re: the Pigments packs in case others can use them. My PC did not find anything malicious about the 3 zip files of the pgtx files. Thanks for the link.
  7. I have thought of going visual, too, due to hearing issues.
  8. Thank you, and thank you to Focusrite and Groove3.
  9. I have HP minitowers and an older (win7 era) laptop that was upgraded to win 10. I suggest running HP assistant to get as much information about your system and if it is still under warranty, contact HP. My previous HP laptop (also win 7 era, now dead due to overheating) had a sound issue recording digital audio when I first got it. I forget the exact details: either it would not record digital audio or it would not record digital at standard quality rates. Ultimately, I went to the sound chip's manufacturer (IDT) and downloaded an official driver that was for my laptop. I was never sure if HP intentionally crippled digital recording or if they just messed up in implementing the audio system. To verify that it wasn't my specific laptop, I went to Staples where I had purchased the laptop, and tried a demo. It had the same driver mine originally had and also had the issue. I didn't update the one at Staples, though I did report it to the service department. I am not a PC technician. There are others here who know more about PC and laptop internals thab I do. After checking that yours is a more modern HP laptop, I was reminded of my sound chip driver issue. I agree with bitflipper and Kalle Rantaaho, the on-board chip should be able to handle 44.1/48 KHz. The 8 KHz limit could be your settings. That is where I would start looking. But don't rule out a driver issue. It would be good to know what chip they are using for audio and what driver they have installed in case the issue cannot be resolved by working with the laptop's settings.
  10. Well, there's more to the story See this article, for example.
  11. As I understand it, if the Plug-in's UI doesn't output MIDI data, there is no MIDI data to record. Yesterday, I briefly tried a possible work around: I sent the audio from the plug-in to an audio track and tried using MTuner which can convert audio to MIDI in some circumstances and tried to figure out if I could record that on a MIDI track. I gave up because its a lot easier for me to use a midi controller directly than a plug-in's UI. I seem to recall a discussion of whether or not there are some plug-ins where mouse clicks on the UI produced midi data. As best I recall, I had it happen with one plug-in but it was a fluke. I think I also looked up a piano keyboard plug-in specifically designed to sent MIDI data. If I find that discussion, I will link it if its relevant.
  12. I remember the song Apache from back in the day and as a fan of instrumental music, loved it. From your video, I knew the version I heard was not The Ventures. Based on a 1960s recording I just listened to, it was probably not The Shadows, either. WABC's Top 100 list has a cover by Jørgen Ingmann and His Guitar. Wikipedia leads me to believe this was the cover those of us were most familiar with: I suppose fans of The Shadows can blame Ingmann for their lack of popularity in the US. In any event, I still think its a great song. Glad to finally know the name after all these decades!!
  13. After 2020 blew away my resolution to make the year one of 2020 foresight instead of 2020 hindsight, I am foregoing resolutions this year. Lesson learned: Optimism can set up a hard fall. Better to just take each moment as it presents itself on face value. Not really committed to that going into 2023 so its not a resolution.
  14. Talking about tv show songs, a few years ago there was a show that featured a narrative song as part of the the "Last week on __________________" storyline recap at the beginning. I thought it was very original and well done. It might have been "Brain Dead." That's on one of my Roku channels; I will double check to see if that's the one. I am remembering an acoustic guitar and a humorous fast-talking narrative recap--accurate in terms of the storyline, but humorous the way it was told.
  15. Using a plug-in within CbB hosted in another host is not necessarily a bad thing. I have used this technique successfully and without issues with plug-ins inside of Voltage Modular inside of CbB. The method allows for some wonderful interconnectivity. I have done this with a number of plug-ins. However, Pigments within a Voltage Modular host inside of CbB along side of instances of Pigments hosted by CbB seems to cause extreme slowness requiring CbB to be killed to get back control. Also, when I first inserted Pigments into an empty project, the Synth Rack showed Pigments considerably before the UI window opened up. I do not have a super modern graphics device and since Pigments uses a lot of graphics, I am not sure if my graphics device is part of my issue.
  16. Was that the thread I did an insane amount of testing with? If so, please PM me the link--I couldn't find it. It would help me find my older Workspaces and Projects. I seem to remember that depending on the placement and size of overlapping windows, it is possible to have new floating windows cover up other ones. But, I seem to remember staggering undocked windows and then saving either the project or the Workspace. Those workspaces and projects are on an older PC which doesn't have a whole bunch of CbB updates and I am sure most of my highly customized Workspaces have not been updated. But on my current PC, I took a working Workspace and tweaked it for a full-sized Multi-Dock on Mon. 2 including one instance of a tab-docked Instrument. On top of that I inserted a couple of floating plug-in windows (Instruments) and re-saved the project. Upon reopening CbB and the project, the full-sized Multi-Dock occupied 100% of Mon. 2. To open the individual floating Instruments, I used the synth icons in the track view. Both opened up in the same location with the same size as each other (i.e., one hid the other! they were not staggered), not as the project was saved. NOTE: I have the Synth Rack in the Mult-Dock. There is an important difference when the icons in the Synth Rack are used to display the individual floating Instruments: (1a) the location is different for each staggered, but (1b) each time, the previous floating plug-in UI disappears, (2) unlike using the Track View on Mon. 1. However, after I reposition them, the positions of the two floating plug-in UI are the same for both display methods (from Track View on Mon. 1 and from the Synth Rack docked in the Multi-Dock as long as I don't close the plug-in Windows. In that case, they will display on top of each other (i.e., hidden). I have not tried using Screensets with this scenario, yet. But, I wonder if they can bet used to help restore saved floating plug-in locations on Mon. 2. I will defer to others who still actively use Screenset switching.
  17. It works on my 2011 PC. I will defer to others to try helping with possible reasons for the error on your system.
  18. I looked up Yellowstone. Bad news / Good news: While it is part of the Paramount Network, "Yellowstone is not available on Paramount+ due to streaming rights, but don't worry — we've got super exciting Yellowstone-related series streaming now, plus there's more on the way from the universe of Yellowstone executive producer, Taylor Sheridan. Dec 19, 2022." Here's the link for this ^^^ article (includes links to the webpages for the individual shows). Maybe these will inspire more songs?
  19. Thanks for the clarification. I will try to find my two-monitor solution to see if it does what you want or if I am misremembering. Probably not tonight; I am fading fast.
  20. I remember this came up before and since I have a few Workspaces that use two monitors, I gave it a try. Not 100% sure of if I remember why it worked for me and not the person with the problem. I'd have to find the thread and reconstruct what I did. BUT: I vaguely recall that I had the main Cakewalk views on Monitor 1 and an undocked/floating MultiDock including the Console View on Monitor 2. I don't recall if I had tabbed plug-ins in the MultiDock or if they were in floating windows. I believe there was an issue someone else had because the person wanted the main Cakewalk View set up to cover two monitors and not the way I did it. Can you be more specific about what you mean by "I have Track view on main (left) monitor, and Console view on second (right) monitor?" UPDATE: In this thread one user had a feature request for the single contiguous Cakewalk spread across two monitors configuration: If that's what you are doing (or want to do), my floating window is not what you want.
