  1. WARNING: Listen at your own risk. Yoko (not known for her intonation) is the lead singer. I think the song would have been better had there been autotune. The Phil Spector echo helps a little. Still, I think its a catchy tune. (Not sure if they used auto tune for the remastering.) Notes: The original album (Some Time in New York City) is from 1972. It is of historical note because the double album contains material from when John and Yoko joined Zappa on stage at the Fillmore East June 1971. Lennon (and Spector, IIRC) "produced" the material from Zappa's recordings in such a way that it was instantly recognized as horrible (IMO). Most notably the mix was of subpar quality and Lennon renamed and took credit for material he had no part in writing. But this song is about "Sisters" (in the 1960s -1970s socially conscious sense).
  2. I got a pop-up from RadControls when running the 1.1.8 Setup saying that the software is for evaluation purposes only. Are other people getting that? If not, I will have to check to see if I have some sort of malware that was trigger by installing 1.1.8. Thanks. UPDATE: I installed 1.1.7.1 which didn't work (can't connect) and then reinstalled 1.1.8.1. This time I didn't get the RadControls pop-up. Launched SONAR Home Studio. It worked! ? Thanks.
  3. I wouldn't mind having some Fresh Air instead of all the PM10 and PM2.5 toxic garbage being circulated.
  4. LOL. I just saw this. Please don't blame me for bringing up the issue of activation!!!!!! ? Now I know why JohnnyV (the Cakewalk Tutorialist formerly using "Cactus" in his name) asked me: To which I replied there was no reference to activation: It doesn't say anything about the removal of the activation time out. So far I have only seen discussion (questions/speculation) by users. But honestly, there's too much Chicken Little stuff going on for me to keep track of what users are saying. But if I find a definitive statement about the activation feature, I will let you know. I think the reason I didn't see the comments in this thread earlier is that I was really sick and tired of overwhelmed by the Chicken Littles, the blame Bandab for the sins of Gibson diatribes, and the "Well, if they are going to to it that way, I want nothing to do with it!" posts and I just tuned out a number of the threads related to the Cakewalk Next/Sonar announcement. BTW, I was encouraged by the video X.E.L. Ohhh did for the benefit of his followers. He basically goes over what's on the website, adding some personal insights and hopes with his typical positive and encouraging demeanor. His perspective was so refreshing to me after reading many of the negative posts in the forum. Peace!
  5. https://www.cakewalk.com/sonar Scroll down to the FAQs > Will Cakewalk by BandLab be discontinued? It doesn't say anything about the removal of the activation time out. So far I have only seen discussion (questions/speculation) by users. But honestly, there's too much Chicken Little stuff going on for me to keep track of what users are saying. But if I find a definitive statement about the activation feature, I will let you know.
  6. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was asking if you had evidence, not speculation. This has already been addressed in the forum.
  7. I have not received any junk mail from signing up with Bandlab when I first signed up for CbB. What evidence do you have that Bandlab profited off of the information?
  8. Have you tried the ones others mentioned above? Also, I know there are editors which I have tried, but I don't work with them regularly enough to be able to make recommendations. IIRC there are more detailed discussions in the forum.** I have this one (TX16WX) installed and I was able to drag some sfz files into it successfully. See the discussion above (this thread) as it might be more powerful than you need. **Also, this is one of several threads that might be of interest to you if you haven't seen it before:
  9. I don't have PrysmAudio's SFZ player. I will give it a try. I do see that Echo is not on in your image. I have an old sfz program that used to come with Cakewalk (no longer available). Once I loaded up an sfz file, it worked. I see that PrysmAudio's SFZ player is a 32 bit program. Are you committed to using that program instead of a newer one? UPDATE: It worked with a basic piano sfz file I have, but when I tried to load other sfz files, I had no sound.
  10. I paid for Cakewalk for MS DOS, Cakewalk for Windows and then for Sonar, etc. If the quality is there and the price is within my budget, I would not mind paying again. To be honest, I will be happy if all the malcontented entitled freeloaders drop out from the forum. ?
  11. Do you know how to insert plug-ins into Cakewalk? If not, there are a number of tutorials available.
  12. I am an old man. I'll cross that bridge ^^^ later on if it comes. I am a worrier, too, so I understand the question, but for now, I will keep my faith in the company that resurrected and continued to improve SONAR after it was abandoned and discontinued by the former owner.
  13. Does this hold true for Workspaces (formerly Lenses) as well? I know Workspaces has a steeper learning curve than many people choose to navigate; however, I have found it to be a highly effective workflow productivity tool, even with about a 20-30% understanding of how to use it. If it will not be in the first released version but will be re-tooled to be simpler, that would be good to know.
  14. Congratulations and best wishes for success with the new products. Also, thanks for keeping SONAR/Cakewalk alive, for making improvements over the past several years, and for allowing older users to continue to use Cakewalk by Bandlab in case they cannot make the transition to the new products.
  15. For those who found found this post ^^^ cryptic, try the following post:
  16. I do not understand a lot of things about IK's marketing and promos and I am not a member of Facebook. But I do look at some sites. So, I am just passing something I spotted in case it means something. Its from 2 hours ago: There's also an image / ad that says, "UPGRADE TO T-RACKS 5 MAX v2 AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK." I have no idea if that is a special promotion just for Facebook members, if it will allow me to upgrade from T-RACKS 5 MAX to v2 and get my money back, or what. Does anyone know? It would be really nice if there's a promotion for those of us who have the pre-v2 version, but I cannot find details for the "GET YOUR MONEY BACK" promotion. PS: There is a link to a promotion that states and and So, I think this is just for people who bought one of the T-RackS 5 v2 bundles, not the pre-v2 T-RackS 5 bundles.
  17. All I know about the fruity limiter is what I looked up yesterday when I replied. Here's a link in case others are interested.
  18. I don't use that software, so I have no idea what the fruity limiter does. Just wondering, though if any of the ProChannel tools would help meet your needs. For suggestions of free third-party FX plug-ins Cakewalk users have mentioned there are several threads, such as this one. Maybe other Cakewalk users can suggest some plug-ins that are comparable to the fruity limiter.
  19. FYI: New Chandler Video on Melda Drum Strip
  20. You missed my point. I was not worried about anything, nor was I expressing worry about anything. I think you missed the context of my reply. But thanks for trying to reassure me.
  21. Since I don't use Kontakt, I defer to others who do and JnTuneTech's points make sense to me based solely on my experience with hardware (and maybe some software, I have used) that use control channels for somethings. Maybe Kontakt allows for some global control of some parameters (possibly with a designated global control channel) at the same time other parameters can be channelized. I defer to others who use Kontakt.
  22. I took the phrase ("Each track is mapped to a different channel") to mean that the OP used the Channel track control widget to map [force] each track to a specific MIDI channel and nevertheless wanted to change MIDI channel data en masse. However, if that's not what the OP meant, forcing each track to a specific MIDI channel using the Channel widget as 57Gregy suggests and leaving the original data intact might also be a good strategy.
