Its the grey on lighter grey issue, but it's there in the original image posted (same spot as in msmcleod's image). In the theming guide Colin Nicholls does, there's this: To me this suggests that there may be a color somewhere that MIGHT be tweakable. Perhaps its a matter of choosing a different theme? FOUND IT!!! So that means that everyone should be able to take their themes of choice and tweak the color of that parameter in the Theme Editor to a color that is more user friendly.
  2. Have used many times. Checked F1 for how to generate / use automation. Way friggin' cool! Thx.
  3. Is it blocked per Windows? [image of Properties box with the Unblock check box removed; I need the attachment space]
  4. Just in case it wasn't clear, both expressions of "Thanks" were and still are sincere. If you thought I was being sarcastic, I wasn't.
  5. I haven't used any referral codes because I heard about them after I upgraded from the Free Bundle to the licensed version of the Free Bundle. It just seemed to me that I was no longer a new customer. But if I can, I wonder if I can use my own referral code for a combined 30% off the Complete Bundle (on the current 60% off sale price, of course!). ?
  6. @msmcleod Thank you for this insight into what Cakewalk does with MIDI "under the hood." And thanks to @Terry Kelley for asking the question that led to this.
  7. Best wishes to you!!!
  8. I assume you already know (1) you can right click and change the duration and (2) can use a controller to input a note, but just in case not, here I changed a whole note to last 4 measures.
  9. Re: visible number of ports (e.g., 1+2) Highlights from an earlier discussion: [other related posts not reposted here] EDIT: I reposted these highlights because there has been new/similar discussion of the issue and not everyone might be aware that an opt-out for those of us who use friendly names has been mentioned as a possibility since it was discussed 8 days ago.
  10. I give up. (What's the punch line?)
  11. Well by that definition (which it sounds like you subscribe to) you are either not a gentleman or if you think you are a gentleman, your answer amounts to "Yes," as in you intentionally altered my post to deliberately be rude. I stand by my original comment applauding the OP's positive attitude. I wish that you hadn't used it as an opportunity to be rude and intentionally distort my meaning.
  12. You truncated my post and thereby changed my meaning. Did you do that on purpose?
  13. Found it! With the green I used (8AF912), I had to use Tungsten as a base to see it. Works with Mercury, too, but was hard for me to see it.
  14. I just hope (1) there are deep discounts for turning in pre-TPM PCs that cannot be upgraded and (2) Microsoft and their partners pay for this planned-obsolescence unless the local municipalities make money from recycling PCs.
  15. I have absolutely no idea how you missed that the comment was not directed at you.
  16. Evidently they have their phones off, but once I logged into my account (per scook's excellent suggestion), the generic promo link showed me the same offer (5 "complete your collection" professional products) but with Lizard Lounge in place of Objeq Delay. Two of the AAS soft synths were on my list to consider for November (BF Sale), but if I can get the money together now, the set of 5 is a good deal.
  17. Elsewhere it says "until 2025." That is, during or after 2025 there will be no more updates to Win 10.
  18. I had it happen (the white background) with test themes I made over the past year or so. But as of yesterday that no longer happened--regardless of whether or not I resaved to old theme. Hmmmm. They might have been old themes which I opened and resaved because someone somewhere said that fixes them. If so, then the re-saving of the old theme jives with what you are saying because it appears to be a new theme even though it isn't. The fix/workaround is so simple, easy, and fast, its really just an intellectual exercise to try to find what unique set of circumstances trigger the white background "bug." I am being musically creative today. Maybe later I will try to find an old theme that I haven't opened and resaved to try this.
  19. I think there is at least one unpredictable or unknown condition here. While working on project, I just changed to about 15 different test themes I have never updated with incompatible element fixes. In all 15 the Console Background did NOT turn to white. Not sure why they didn't. UPDATE: I rebooted Cakewalk and still didn't get the white console background with numerous unrepaired themes. I wanted to try this: but couldn't since I can't get the problem back. Yes! If I get the white console background problem again, I will give this a try! (Though I cannot understand how it could have fixed itself.)
