The RME UFX can be purchased Used on Reverb.com for about $1100. Its not "cheap", I would quiz the seller why they are selling. If they upgraded to the UFX II or UFX+ you're probably good to go. (I upgraded to the UFX+ and sold my UFX on Reverb) The UFX has been around awhile, but RME keeps the drivers "up to date". Its a fine piece of "kit"! The TotalMix software is a bit "complicated" at first, like any good console is. Once you wrap your head around it, you don't know how you lived without it. t you pays yer money and ya takes your choice...

EQ->COMP or COMP->EQ, when do you and why?
DeeringAmps replied to Bapu's topic in Production Techniques
I think "fix" problem frequencies first, then compress, then "sweeten" to taste? I guess every track is different. I definitely High Pass first, get the mud out, if a track needs it... t -
Help > Key Switch Layout just sayin'... t

NOTE: Sometimes it pays to be smarter than the Installer, especially if you have a habit of NOT putting things where the installer wants it to go. ie: the EZB.dll ALSO: Run the VST scan EVERY time you make changes/updates etc. t I am known by many names... DeeringAmps shortens to DA, and we all know what that stands for ?

Issue solved! Gotta be smarter than the installer... In this case the D & A in DeeringAmps stands for DA t

Hello Group, My name is Tom (actually I'm known by many names, but I digress) [group answers] hello Tom I'm so weak, I couldn't stand it, I picked up Classic Rock, Fretless and Metal t I did have some loyalty giggers, and the basses do come with some additional midi! (he rationalizes)

If I only bought one it would be the Hendrix Anniversary Pack 2 Twins Blonde Bassman (the good one with the presence control) Dual Showman British Lead 100 (used this a lot before the JH Gold) JH Gold (plexi 100) SUNN 1200 (never used it) SILVER TONE TWIN 12 (never used it) t

I missed a "small box" Marshall 50 Plexi once, it was just over the border in Vancouver. I was trying to be sure I could "run" up there and pick it up. Should have "pulled the trigger". But I did get a 50 (not a small box, '71, poor man's plexi with the alum. faceplate; did have the "laydown" mains hand wired turret board, mustard all over the caps [that's important ya know]) from a fellow in Reno, I was headed that way for an event and he also had a Tall Vintage cab filled with Green Backs, so it all worked out... t We're talkin' plugins right? you plug it into the wall, plug in your guitar, plugin the speaker cab; that's plugins; right?

My advice, rewind and watch from the beginning Hope you don't mind Reid! I'll edit the post if you prefer... t

The Silver Jubilee and the 2203 are fine amps. The Jubilee was one I had to "beat" when I built my collaborator his amps. He loved his Jube! I had a 2210, great amp, never had a 2203. tone or style? t

help us we are turning into robots mixing/mastering tom deering
DeeringAmps replied to jack c.'s topic in Songs
You should put links to both Jack, not everyone jumps over to SoundCloud to listen. Your mix/master sounds just fine, actually I like the Vocoder voice better in yours... t -
Yeah, but puts your equipment at risk... t

I'll just echo what's been said above. t a little different from glutton for punishment...

Is that what I thought was the Mellotron? t

I went with the 80 and the 440 as according to the descriptions they are the least transparent. The whole point of tape emulation is the colour: non? t

Maybe that's a good thing, we all evidently have "too much time on our hands" t

That'll be hitch in the giddyup here... t

You've left out Zolton (the artist formerly known as Charlie Hatton) and I'll take a vowel for 16 Pat... t

my "ears"; in the verse/chorus, I "think" I'm hearing something buried in the mix. t
