Nice clean mix, well written and arranged; ?'s Alan! t good to see hear you back...
  2. Last day for this, unless it gets the inevitable: "Oh we decided to extend the sale...". t if you're a Groove3 aficionado, its well worth the $49, IMnotsoHO
  3. Don't know how I missed this. If I haven't mentioned this in the past, I think I'm fan! t
  4. ?'s! Best of luck with your entry. t sometimes things just fall thru the cracks...
  5. Clever! I'll leave it at that... t
  6. As I mentioned over at YouTube this is more epic film trailer than rock song. Interesting contrast between the verse/chorus and then the bridge. Care to share the verb and delays employed? Again as I said over at YT; BRILLANT! t
  7. Even at the ripe old age of 14 I was aware that The Monkees were a plastic fantastic Hollywood creation. That being said, Nesmith was a legit musician/songwriter; and, as “all groupies must bow down”, indeed I do and mourn his passing. He and Mickey had just completed one final tour so hopefully he went out thankful and happy. RIP Mike, you walked to the beat of a different drum and we’re all the richer for that. t

David, Your pieces always paint a vivid picture for me. Keep up the good work! t
  9. Doug the volume of material, let me change that to quality material, you produce astounds me! Take a look at the rest of Doug's catalog at "Click"; way more stuff than he posts here. ?'s... t did I mention ?'s?
  10. As always, so well composed, played and mixed. I'm fan (as you well know) so a big ?'s from me! t assume the Strymon is the principle amp here? do you capture a di as well and re-amp, or is it straight to "tape"?
  11. I'll start with this; ?'s. I'm a big fan, and its all about the freddy vibe and storytelling; lots of that here (but why am I not surprised?). As to the midi horns, if I was "good" at it I'd simultaneously offer criticism and offer to help. I do think you need to pan them off center, they're walking all over the vocal. What VSTi did you use? Overall, more freddy j being freddy j, and who doesn't love that? t
  12. I will add my vote to the "nice groove" category (and the well played cat as well). I'm not sure the bass is too subtle, I don't "love" the bass heavy mixes that seem to define most genres of late. Vinyl limits the amount of bass in a mix, and to "purists" vinyl is "king". Go figure.... t Mark turned me on to MT, a lot to work with, and the price is right! (I did donate...)
  13. I will add my ?'s to the many "well done's" above! Wookiee has a very good run of late. But, as much as I have enjoyed them all, the ones with guitar are my faves... Noodle on my brother, noodle on................................................................. t tried to leave a comment over at SoundCloud, the "nag" screen for a paid subscription wouldn't clear...
  14. Jack is right, given that your video editing is dragging your current systems down, I’d “bite the bullet”. Talk to @Jim Roseberry, I have two of his systems, the older 2011 build still “purrs”. He consults as well as builds. t

Eric Clapton, I think "woman" is a reference to his tone on Outside Woman Blues; but that's not the only or first instance (think Sunshine of Your Love). IIRC, its the middle setting (we are talking dual Humbuckers now) with one? tone control rolled off. He gets similar tone with the Strats (think it might be something in his hands? or preferences eq-ing his amps?) I'm sure its debated/discussed ad nauseam all over the net. With the vast majority of opinions being total bollocks! Much like the "real" story of the drums on Levee by Zep... t Note: Personally I prefer his solo on I Feel Free where you hear him switch from the Neck (or both maybe?) to the bridge pickup on the last phrase of the solo. Whether that was played on the 'Burst or the Red 335 (does it matter) I've never seen discussion; but I avoid those kinds of threads so.... but I digress

Yep, he's got a bit of the "Woman" tone going on in this one. ?'s, I'm a fan; what more can I say? t not really "jumping" out at me. I might high pass the guitar, start at say 100 Hz and play with it; especially on the outro; just me...
  18. ?'s Barry! Solid work. This is real "Jewel", the poor man's EZDrummer, and you can't beat the price... t
  19. VST 2 working fine here. On the Studio rig and on the office rig (both are StudoCats). t
  20. Not familiar with either so I can’t comment if that is the issue of all the hat strikes sounding the same. t
  21. But I think it is a great illustration of how one “live” track can take a midi based backing track to the next level. Beautiful track Jerry. t

    Big fan here! ?’s t
  23. No apologies necessary. Great track, especially like the transition at 3:21 (I think?)! t
