  1. I'd bring the acoustic guitar up a bit; think the vocal is fine. The kick is a bit pronounced at some points, but that's a taste/genre thing. Who sang on this one, nice! t
  2. That intro is something! I'd fade it in a bit. What's your overall level here (LUFS)? Tim goes all ELP? t
  3. Not sure I heard anything there, but there were a few hiccups during playback that were "streaming" issues here (or at SoundCloud). Without hearing the old mix hard to say, but I do believe I had some "issues" in the Vocal level or the vocal verb; IIRC. t
  4. Already a subscriber, did "like" and comment. t Best of luck moving the community to "help" over at YouTube. I've been badgering the Forum for a while; to no avail...
  5. Sounds good here on the DT990's. There's something in the left can, a fiddle or electric slide? There's some fills there,"call and response", that I think were intended to be more upfront in the mix; again I stress, I think. Its a bit low in the left channel. My ears are not would they should be... t the tune has kind of an Ain't Goin' Down til The Sun Comes Up vibe. A quick listen to that might give a bit of insight into the Country Rock genre; if you have any doubts...
  6. In the process of demoing this, and I'm liking the Celestion Blues. And the fact I can downsize them to 10" & ALNiCo magnets. Pretty cool! Back in the day I was a G12M man, but that's what was "stock" in a 100 watt stack. Had a dozen of them (G12M's, not full stacks?) These days its the Eminence Legend 10's. And I think the "Blues" are getting me there. The 4x12 G12M sounds good, but with the Blues in 4x10 open back, there's a lot less low end to high pass... Keep in mind, I'm capturing my FIFTY with a Palmer PDI 03 & PDI 09 I'm running 2 cabs so I can A/B different setups, (I swing the "mix" bar back on forth) but I'm pretty well "married" to SSSR Room 3, so I haven't really played with the room mics, I did turn the room mics on; my office Cat didn't seem to care. (i7, 16 gigs ram, 11 years old) At $49, I'm thinking I'll pull the trigger on this one. I have WOS, but never really bonded. Q1) So what's the POWER(Wb) do? Q2) Is the speaker distortion thing kind of like the OX Box "cone cry"? I bought an OX, sent it back, didn't "tickle" me at all... t
  7. ?'s what more can I say? t as always, there's more on Doug's channel than he's posted here...
  8. Nothing like a new guitar piano to inspire creativity! t

I could see the credits of a suspense or action drama rolling over the top of this. ?'s t
  10. Lovely piece Michael. ?'s t subscribed, commented, dropped a "like". Y'all could do likewise, don't cost nothin'; just sayin' again forgot to hit the share button, I'll remedy that....
  11. I can't count that high, so if its all the same to you, I'll just stay with the "Latin" vibe... t
  12. If I posted a few more often you'd be able to! ? (just an aside; I don't care if people review my work, I don't keep score. but those that don't review at all, I don't review...) Just so happens I was doing just that! In the lower right corner is a 2 bar section of a tune I'm working on, I'll pull it off the desk top and put it into the Superior Drummer MIDI Drop Zone. (HINT for those who, like me, have issues with Drop Zone, I has to be a 2 bar "cut", if you've just "pulled" a midi clip down to 2 bars, you won't get good results...) Superior, or EZDrummer, will then will bring up a bunch of clips that are similar, but have been played by "real" drummers. Brain Wilson hired Hal Blaine to play drums on Beach Boys sessions, (the whole Wrecking Crew actually) its not "cheating" to use "tools" like the midi in SD or EZD or EZKeyes. If you can't play it yourself, hire the best you can afford... "the little cheat" was tongue in cheek As to the bass line of your tune. Your tune, your production. But if I'm producing, the bass player and I are going to have a conversation. When the melody is playing, I want him to support the tune. The melodic lines, under the pads, are perfect. I'm a guitarist, I play bass like a guitarist. I know that, I write parts I "think" will work, and then I go back, re-write, and "support the tune". t
  13. Hymn's are generally not on my play list, so no frame of reference for me. Enjoyed. t seems like you've got plenty of "level" on this one...
  14. I want to say bring the vocal up a bit. But maybe its the verb burying it. I think I'd look at the EQ on the vocal verb, is there a high pass on it? Might help a bit I think. Love the tune! t
  15. A little bit of a Latin vibe here Wooks, I like it! ?'s t in fact I think I might be, actually, yes I am; shakin' my booty!
  16. As the "tag" says, this is a "sad" song. But I think this is one your best tracks to date Jack. Really like the acoustic guitar on this one. ? ?'s t I would have added "and a backfield in motion" to the two thumbs up, but it is a sad song...

Only if you can "push" past me! As always, great work Carl! t
  18. Always interesting to watch the creative process. So a big Thanks for that! t Next step; lighting
  19. I wouldn't "double" the melody with the bass, it "stiffens" the song way too much. The bass line across the "pads" (for want of a better word) are good. But I would support the melody lines and not double up there. just my nickel98's worth... t And then drop that into the EZDrummer or Superior Drummer's "search" function. That's the little "cheat" I like to use. Brian hired Hal, what's the dif?
  20. Let this one "rest" a bit and cycle back on the mix. The tune deserves it. t
  21. Much enjoyed David.?'s! t
  22. This is a lather, rinse, repeat process. As with any skillset it takes practice. Do watch some vids on "masking". A lot of overlapping frequencies here. Some judicious cutting and high passing are in order. Great energy and execution on the performances and arrangement, so I think a ? is due here. t
  23. Big fan here so ?'s! t really like the long fade on the last note, thanks for that!
