Liked this a lot Bjorn. Song: solid A. Midi performance: Midi guitar is a tough one, a lot of subtle "touch" goes into a great performance. fret_man went into depth how he gets "realistic" midi performances for fretted instruments here. You might check it out. Again ?'s overall. But a little more tweaking to the midi would push it to ?'s & ?'s. t
  3. You're getting closer Gary. I'm happy where the backing vocals sit. Hopefully some more folks will chime in. Couple of thoughts: 1) I'd like a bit more level on the snare, but as you often say "we all paint different pictures". 2) In the last run through the chorus, in the outro, the lead guitar does some "unison bends" (ala Jimi Hendrix) and they have all but disappeared in this last mix. I'd pull those back up! Overall ?'s. Anxiously awaiting the final mix! t
  4. @Marcellobounce all the tracks down to a stereo mix. Archive all tracks ( this is easier if things are organized in folders. Now all you have running is the backing track you are playing to, and the one guitar track you are recording. This should allow CbB to run glitch free at the interface’s lowest setting. HTH, t
  5. @Kevin Lawrenceconsensus seems to be that you select "Sign in to BandLab". Seems like "activate now" was at one time an option. Got the "red toast" yesterday, and signed in to BandLab; all good here. HTH, t
  6. Late to the party. I'll just echo all that has already been said. So sadly relevant. t left a like and comment over at YouTube, hope y'all have/will as well...
  7. So I'm going to agree with David, the Masshoff kit, although for me its the kick. The snare "rings" a bit much to my ears, but for some that's the "sound" they're after. I prefer the "crack" of a Louisville Slugger, compared to the "ring" of an aluminum bat; but that's just me... Another great tune Bats. t
  8. This is just so good at all levels Gary. Take a bow man! As Lynn said, loved the shot from the studio. And the twist at the end where Thomas wakes up and his song is gone; very cool... ?'s ?'s t
  9. Very touching Wooks. I feel for the both of you. Wish there was something I/we could do to help; more than just support you here on the forum. Take care my/our furry friend... t
  10. Enjoy watching you work Nick. Cool transition there at 2:45. ?‘s t
  11. Always enjoyed a new tune from BullHill Moods, good one Makke! t
  12. Much enjoyed Mark, working on all fronts here. ?'s t

  14. Another "winner" at all levels! Thought I recognized some footage from the CHOP in Seattle? ?'s t
  15. Clearly this is another excellent tune from Hobo Train. The intro guitar is the one that seems "muddy" to me. Where do you have that one high passed? Are the guitar tracks miced amps or are you running sims here? If these are miced tracks, I'd suggest rolling off some more bass on the amp at time of capture. As to "hot", I sent the tune into CbB and put iZotope's Tonal Balance and Insight on it. LUFS at -10.9; is 10 too hot for a country rocker? Not for my ears... I'll hold my "like" and ?'s for the final mix. t some thoughts on guitar "tone". I tend to play with way too much distortion (live especially). When recording, at least IMHO, its better to get the "tone" and then dial it back! When the mix gets "busy", all those amps at "11" tend to muddy up the mix; at least that's my experience... YMMV
  16. @Chris Ward Chris for some reason your @ are not showing up correctly. I think because you are not “selecting” the member from the drop-down menu? As to LatencyMon. I’ve run it numerous times, but have no idea how to interpret the results. Maybe someone will post a link to how to read and utilize the findings. Maybe I’ve just “missed” it? t
  17. @Chris Wardwere the 12x projects created on this exact C drive? I have no explanation for why suddenly a working system just “gives up”. Unless of course something is “up” with the drive, or the hardware. t BTW, if you place the @ in front of the member’s name, they will get a notification that they have been “mentioned” in a post.
  18. Ol Pal, this is what the FabFilter VST3 folder look like on my rig. You had mentioned that maybe yours had the dll extension. As mentioned by several above the Program Files>Common Files>VST3 folder should only contain .vst3 extensions. I use sub folders in the VST3 folder YMMV. All the FabFilter plugs are working fine here... HTH, t
  19. @billp Updated to 1.246 just now and everything is working as expected. The original Babyface here (on WIN 10 Pro), but it uses the same driver as the BF Pro. RME = Drivers, drivers, drivers. This is what they excel at. Support ticket at RME? t
  20. One question @Chris Ward; why is the project on the C drive? (Maybe the answer is buried in the thread?) You simply cannot expect optimum performance if you are running CbB from only the C drive. When using VSTi’s you have to have 3 drives. C : OS, P; Project ( that’s the cwp file and all audio tracks) S: Samples, in this case all the EZD samples. Anything less and You have “chosen” to make compromises. Consequently your performance will be compromised. It’s really just that simple. t
  21. That’s been going on ever since Gibson closed the doors. Best thing that ever happened for focusrite Presonus; cha ching! Shame really, but I’m all in with Sonar… t
  22. @Jim Roseberryis showing Win11 as his standard build. StudioCat.com for details. If Win11 wasn’t “ready for prime time” I’m sure he wouldn’t be recommending it. I would go with Win11 Pro. t
  23. No! He is one of the Knights who say "Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing! t
  24. This can NEVER be overemphasized! bit me the ***** recently, and I KNOW BETTER! t falls in the category of “best laid plans of mice and men”…
