  1. Alan, Information from the ART website (Keep in mind that the tubes in this Compressor doesn't have much to do with the sound coming out of the compressor, so changing them wouldn't make much of a noticeable change, however, others may differ) ? Overview The ProVLA II is a tube driven Vactrol®-based Compressor / Leveling amplifier designed to excel in any professional audio environment. Superior performance and an incredible tone makes the ProVLA II and indispensable tool for tracking, mixing, mastering, dynamic control of live sound sources or for use in broadcast audio. Capable of delivering a far more musical natural sounding and sonically transparent compression than competitive units in its class, the ProVLA II uses an Opto-electronic circuit rather than the more typical design VCA driven level detection circuit. This VCA-less design coupled with a 12AT7 vacuum tube in the gain stage makes the Pro-VLA II the ideal dynamic control device for critical audio applications. Exceptional signal integrity with extremely low noise and low distortion is achieved in the ProVLA II by utilizing a transformerless design throughout. Vactrol® Technology Unlike typical compression units that use Voltage Controlled Amplifiers (VCA’s) to handle level detection, the Pro VLA II’s Opto-electronic design allows a far more transparent and musical sounding compression without sounding aggressive or un-natural. This Vactrol based optical electronic circuitry is the basic component of the classic highly sought after compressors of past. Vactrol® design allows the ProVLA II to react to audio signal in much the same way the eye naturally adjusts to fluctuations in light levels – smoothly, quietly and almost imperceptibly. Soft Knee Leveling The ProVLA II is a soft knee leveling amplifier by design. Although capable of providing dramatic compression effects, the ProVLA II was designed to excel in any application where transparent, expressively musical dynamics control is desired. Comprehensive Metering Large highly visible backlit analog VU meters accurately display input and output levels while extremely fast 10-segment LED’s display gain reduction. For added functionality, the LED’s display either average level for mastering & mixing applications or peak hold for monitoring individual sources when tracking audio. Versatile I/O XLR and 1/4-inch TRS balanced inputs and outputs are provided to ensure the ProVLA II can connect with any audio source or hardware. A +4dBu/-10dBu mode switch optimizes ProVLA II I/O for either consumer or professional equipment. Key Features VCA-Less Vactrol Opto-Compression Design Mastering Quality Audio Signal Path with Tube Gain Stage Enhanced Link Mode – While in stereo link mode, channel 1 level control acts as a master output level and channel 2 becomes a balance control between them, – optimizing the Pro-VLA II for use as a mastering tool Variable Threshold, Ratio & Output Controls LED Backlit VU Input/Output Level Metering LED Metering Indicates Both Average Level And Peak Hold Accurate Ten Segment LED Gain Reduction Metering +4dBu/-10dBu Mode Switch Optimizes Pro-VLA II For Interface with Professional OR Consumer Grade Components Active Balanced XLR And 1/4-Inch Inputs & Outputs Toroidal Transformer Reduces Mechanical & Electrical Hum Specifications Equivalent Input Noise@+4dBu: -99dBu (”A” weighted) / @-10 dBV: -107dBu (”A” weighted) Maximum Attenuation30dB Input Impedance10K Ω Maximum Input Level+20dBu (in +4dBu mode) / +10dBV (in -10dBV mode) Maximum Output Level+20dB max Frequency Response10Hz to 100KHz (+/- 0.5dB) Dynamic Range> 100dB (20-20KHz) Attack Time0.25msec. to 50msec. variable Release TimeVariable 150ms to 3s SlopeVariable 2:1 to 20:1 Total Harmonic Distortion<0.1% (typical) Dimensions3.5″ x 19″ x 9.2″ (8.9cm x 48.3cm x 23.3cm) Weight10.5lbs (4.76kg)

  3. Bonjour, La vidéo a déjà été faite, il vous suffit d'aller dans la section des tutoriels Cakewalk et de rechercher Maschine Mikro MK3, cependant, voici le lien que vous recherchez.
  4. Here is a video that I came across showing how easy it is to use outboard gear in Cakewalk . There aren't a lot of videos demonstrating this, so I thought I'd show what I found. Enjoy.
  5. I wanted an additional compressor in my hardware rack but I didn't want to break the bank on it. I started watching YouTube videos to see what folks were purchasing that worked well but didn't cost a lot and offered dual ins and outs. I came across the ART PRO VLA II Compressor and started to investigate further. This is not a bad compressor to use mainly on vocals, but it can be used on other things as well. I know this Compressor has been out for a while, but I never considered it before with all of the big name compressors floating around. Nice Job ART! 9. The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm Over-Ear Studio Headphones or The Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Ohm Over-Ear Studio Headphones are just as great. One is open back for mixing and one is closed back for tracking. I buy mine from here ~~~> HHGregg
  10. Thanks, I've only used one External Insert and never tried to use several at a time. ?
  11. Does anyone know if multiple External Inserts can be created within CbB? I want to be able to select an external insert created for my Hardware Compressor while selecting one for my Hardware EQ and then another created for my Hardware Lexicon MX200 Reverb unit for my Cue Mix Bus going out to a head phone for the vocalist to hear the reverb.
  12. Shane, Thank you very, very much. Your description and review was better than most that I've read and seen on the Internet. MIX BUS TV gives a great non sponsored review of the compressor, and the presenter gives his honest opinion and his experience using the compressor and how it worked for him. I've seen great reviews of the Art Pro VLA II and since the current compressor I have is part of a channel strip, I just wanted one that was a stand alone device. I will be inserting the Pro VLA II compressor after my Warm Audio_ WA73-EQ PreAmp to use on vocals to tame the dynamics a little while tracking. I just needed something reliable for to use for this, as well as bass tracking and a little on my Keyboards. Thanks for your review and your assistance, ?
  13. Shane, I have been looking at getting another hardware compressor and I was looking at the ART Pro VLA II, How do you like using it ? I saw it listed in your signature, so I figured I ask about it's performance. If I don't get that, then I will move up to a B-Stock Warm Audio WA76. I like the ART Pro VLA II because it's a 2 channel compressor. Have you done any modification to it yet?
  14. I had an overlap with Brainworx bx_masterdesk and the bx_console Focusrite SC, so I didn't install them again, However, I was well pleased with the items below. Black Box Analog Design HG-2 Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Ampeg SVT-VR bx_oberhausen
  15. Fwrend, I stand corrected. I checked and you can download your plugins straight from the Account section of the PA website and install the plugins successfully onto your DAW. ?
  16. NOPE, it must be used after you get it from the plugin Alliance website.

  18. There you are, Cakewalk track templates to the rescue.
  19. How could you purchase an item like that first without knowing if it would or wouldn't work with your DAW. I spend hours finding out about a product before I buy it. I watch videos, read SOS mag, You Tube channels, and Google the heck out of it.
  20. I just checked this morning and had 13g of sugar on my chocolate donut; How'd the heck did that get in there?? ?
  21. Ooohhhhh, Goodbye little orange and white triangle,.......uninstall ?
  22. Thanks Alan, I know the wife story oh too well, LOL ?
  23. AWE Alan, and I was just going to fill my rack up with nothing but Warm Audio gear !! LOL ? But seriously, I do want the WA-76. next added to my rack. I am saving my pennies for that now. It's time to step buying what I can settle for and buy what I really want. I was going to settle for the ART Pro-VLA II Compressor, but I said no, I deserve some good gear. YEA ME!!! ?
