Paul This song and your previous song Take it on the Chin have a nice nostalgic mood to them. Guitar playing is top notch as is the vocal. Big thumbs up.

martin Excellent guitar work. I thought the drum intro went on a bit too long and didn't lead in to the song naturally. Except for that nit, I enjoyed the song.

David and Paul Thanks so much for listening and commenting Tom I checked out the sitar and yes indeed it does spike over zero around 5K. I guess I didn't find it objectionable though. I really wanted a better performance from it but will have to keep trying. Adding notes by way of the PRV isn't ideal for this instrument. Madras, Oregon and Madras, India. Mark I shouldn't even be commenting on this forum since the hearing exam I had couple of weeks ago showed a marked decline in the speech frequency range. Anyway, I like the song but it seemed to me that the vocal could be brought up a bit but maybe that can be explained by the previous sentence. Not sure if you were going for a southern rock sound, but to me it has that kind of down home, country road feel to it. I have a theory about that sound and that's... add2 chords. Something about those chords just brings it out. So just want to ask if you did indeed use add2 chords? Just say yes ?

Keith The intro did remind me a bit of Pink Floyd (Dogs of War?) only because you mentioned Roger Waters. Power of suggestion. This is the 2nd song I've heard from you and this comment is pretty much the same. I like the song, especially your vocal styling. Great lyrics. The buildup in the mix works very well too. And I'm sort of scrounging around for anything to critique. Totally subjective opinion but the brass instruments didn't seem to fit. IDK, just stood out to me. I really like your music. Hope you have more to post here.

John I listened to Ravi Shankar's daughter playing the sitar on youtube to get some ideas. She is amazing. The voice is from Heavyocity Vocalise, a Kontakt instrument. Gary Indian music isn't exactly in my heritage, but I've always liked it. IMO I did okay with the Kontakt instruments here except I couldn't get the sitar to sound like I wanted. John Too bad we all need to be reminded to get along with our fellow humans, but that's the way it is I guess. Nice to hear some positive words now and then. The jazzy accompaniment fits the lyrics very well. The "disagree/World War 3" pairing is wonderful. (Well, just one of those lyric things I appreciate.)

Keith I couldn't get into critique mode because I really got into this song, kept saying wow and nice. Maybe the instruments are dated but I just heard the overall performance, everything blending in so well to magnify the emotional content of the lyrics. So I guess I liked it. I have songs going back to the late 80s that I've tried to "modernize" with more realistic sounding instruments. Doesn't work. They must sound the same.

Thanks Tom I used uHe Colour Copy delay effect on the piano. You just need to play one note at regular intervals and it fills in some pretty interesting extra notes, which I guess is what delay effects do, but this one's better than others I've used.

Tom Well I didn't follow all the technical stuff you're doing and I don't know what a 703 is and I can't offer advice on compression but I like the song, so I'll just say that.

Douglas Another great song - I'm just gonna copy and paste those 3 words from now on. ? One little nit I have is that guitar fill at 1:00 and 2:08 seems to come in on one channel only. Just stood out to me. The other guitar fill at 1:36 and elsewhere sounds more natural. The slide sounds really good to me.

That's a beautiful melody you're playing. I didn't expect the metronome, the jet plane, the disco beat, the whistling, or the dubstep bass, but that's okay! Piano sounds fine to me.

Jim Fun song and fun video. The song reminds me of what it's like driving around Klamath Lake in southern Oregon. Splattered bugs all over the front of your car. Can't even read the license plate. Hope your daughter is or becomes an accomplished musician like yourself. One man band for sure.
