  1. Nigel, Not sure what the name of the song means but that's okay. I always enjoy your well produced dreamy videos which seem kind of exotic to a suburbia guy like me. -Bjorn
  2. Treesha Nice overall sound but could use a theme to hold it together. Or a hook or two to really engage the listener. I think you can take the song up a few notches just by increasing the tempo a bit. -Bjorn
  3. Freddy As always I like your bluesy guitar work. Yep, there's reality and then there's the truth. You would think they would mean the same thing.
  4. Nice one David. Especially the bass holding things together.
  5. Doug Your songs seem to be getting even better lately. Don't know if it's a production or composition thing but whatever it is, it's working. I agree with the other comments that the voc needs something like bit of reverb or double tracking. It's very good the way it is but could be bumped up a notch. What do you think of Gem Voice? I'm going to download the demo but probably won't help me much. ☺️
  6. This is the instrumental version of Going Back Home that I posted a few months ago featuring Doug Kirby on vocals (thanks again Doug). The melody brings to my mind a peaceful country road with fields of cows and corn on either side. I really wanted to play the melody on guitar but my skills aren't quite there yet (close, though). This is about the 10th version I've come up with and it's still not there so it's kind of rough. The photo on SoundCloud has nothing to do with country roads. I just like it. I took the photo - it's an osprey catching a fish, which they're very good at. Thanks for comments/suggestions.

    Summer Daze

Take a deep breath. Those kids in the video are now in their 70s. You caught the spirit of those times very well. Reminds me of the Yellow Submarine movie. Just a suggestion: put in a couple of nods to the music in that year, maybe a few notes of a Beatles song just enough to recognize it.
  8. Another impressive orchestral piece from Jerry. So the clarinetist played along with the virtual instruments which must have been a different experience for him. I played clarinet in my high school marching band, mostly in the 3rd clarinet section which only plays whole notes every measure. But I looked good in the band uniform.
  9. For a guy with no music theory knowledge you did incredibly well with this piece. Hope to hear more from you.
  10. Love those synths and I like what you did with them. I'm still thinking of getting Triton but it's a bit expensive.
  11. The faux trumpet sounds pretty good to me as does the rest of the orchestra. The time lapse video is really cool. I don't think I've seen or even heard about an airplane graveyard like in the video. The transition at 1:37 is very good. Not sure if the music really fits the video IMO at least in this 3 min segment.
  12. Definitely a guy song. Listening with headphones the mix sounds very good although I thought the bass could come up a little. To be incredibly nit picky, the word "baby" in the chorus threw me off. Didn't seem like you'd sing this to a woman. Excellent musicianship. Love the harp. Love the burp.
  13. Amad Very nice. It's great to escape the prison by making music and sharing it.
  14. Sounds very good to me. Great keyboard playing.
  15. Impressive production on the song esp the vocal. Really like the bass. The drums are a bit too up front IMO. Great job.
  16. kloon, thanks for commenting David, I didn't intend it to be a sad song. It's just rambling musings while staring at the ceiling at 2am and kind of open to interpretation. Doug, thanks. I ran the voc through FabFilter Saturn which added a little more character to my voice. I need all the help I can get.
  17. Every Now and Then Gettin' philosophical in my old age. Lyrics below -------------------------------- every now and then you hear of a tragedy makes you stop and think could have happened to me and you tell yourself again the years have passed too fast you're gonna live today as if it is your last and when the trouble passes like they always do resolutions made always fade away too return into your world of fabricated scenes surrender to distractions yield to comfortable routine there are people you can lean on but at the end you know at the end you go on down go down that old road alone Every now and then you reflect on where you've been you were there every moment but you barely remember a thing and you tell yourself again the years have passed too fast you're gonna live today as if it is your last but the world keeps telling you another payment is due fill the hours of your life for the means to get you through return into your world of fabricated scenes surrender to distractions yield to comfortable routine there are people you can lean on but at the end you know at the end you go on down go down that old road alone

    Happy Place

Your song hit the happy button in my brain, just what I needed. The lyrics maybe weren't intended that way but the overall sound just came together to set that mood. Very well done.

    Lucky Me

Doug, One of your best. What really made the song imo is that very catchy groove in the background and the "hip hip hooray" that says a lot in just 3 words. 2 thumbs up!
  20. Ten seconds in and I'm thinking soundtrack to Lord of the Rings or something similarly epic. A stirring theme as all get out. What I like is the melodic elements that make it more than new age ambient and much more listenable. I was a little surprised to see Realivox Blue in there, a VST that I own but have never used (yet). Great job on this!
  21. Freddy You could try pixabay.com You can download videos for free but they ask for a credit (which is optional. ) Sorry, I missed this when you asked a couple of weeks ago.
  22. You can likely change the aspect ratio somewhere in the menu. You'd want 16:9 which should give you a HD video (1920x1080) which works well on YT. I would use a portable digital audio recorder instead of the phone's audio. Just don't make a vertical video! ?
  23. Love it! Seemed like some really tricky passages in there (32nd notes?) You made it look easy. ?
