  1. With a Focusrite, there are BETA drivers that you might want to try - depending on the exact Focusrite model you have. With a non Firefox browser (Edge will do), head over to beta.focusrite.com and search for your model name. (for example, for a Scarlett 2i2, search for Scarlett. In the notes for many of these drivers it specifically mentions Cakewalk by Bandlab. It states “Fixed an issue that could cause a crash in Cakewalk by Bandlab” Maybe give these a go.
  2. As a test, I used addictive drums to replicate your Scenario. 2 stepped clips, the first starting with a crash and hi-hats. The second stepped clip with just the hi-hats. I put the second clip straight after the first clip. Pressed play. It played as I expected. No crash cymbal sounded when the second clip played. One thing I can think of is this. You know how you can drag the right edge of a stepped clip to repeat the clip. Well, I am wondering if you inadvertently started a drag of the first clip's right edge to start a repetition. Zoom into the first clip to make sure there are no repeats. I was able to replicate your issue by dragging the right edge of the first clip. Once I did this, then the crash sounded at the play back of the second clip.
  3. "discard bounced audio" means discard bounced audio - that is the bounced audio is deleted from the audio folder (although this happens on exit of Cakewalk). Freezing a track has no effect on the original audio file - that stays intact. If in doubt, open the audio folder while freezing and unfreezing a track.

    Open Serum UI

I have bound the CTRL + Num / Key to open the GUI of the synth on the selected instrument track. Of course you can define any unused key combo
  5. I believe you can.... if you enter them at checkout, I am sure it will have a hissy fit if you can’t
  6. Transpose can only shift the pitch by a minimum of one semitone. The OP requires tuning by cents. One cent is one one hundredth of a semitone. The way to do this depends on the synth.
  7. It depends on the synth that the MIDI data is to control. For instance, if you’re using TTS1, there is an NRPN controller that can control master tuning with cents granularity. This affects all tracks and parts for TTS1 For other synths, you might be able to map a controller to that synths master tune control.
  8. I can definitely vouch for this function. It has saved my derrière many times.
  9. Views menu > Console View
  10. Works for me. If you’re using a version of CbB later than 2019.9 and in PRV, Notes menu, you have checked “Show Note Names” it's still not working, then maybe contact Cakewalk support. https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633
  11. According to the release notes for 2019.9 feature overview (CTRL + F “Note Name”) “Note: Note names automatically hide at low zoom levels.” See:
  12. Just make sure you have a spare 50gig kicking around....
  13. I would simply set band 6 to "Low pass" and automate the frequency Record the automation while moving band 6 frequency. If you happen to end up recording other parameters, simply delete them. Once you have recorded enough, simply edit the resultant automation curve to taste. I tested this here and it worked fine.
  14. If I was using TTS-1 and wanting multitimbral, this is how I would do it Have a single instance of TTS-1. Have MIDI tracks that point to that single instance. Set the MIDI channels of the MIDI tracks to their respective channels. Doing this will cause all events on that track to be sent on the Channel you set here rather than on the Channels of the events themselves. In the MIDI tracks, set the patch to the instruments. For good measure, on each MIDI track, you might want to insert CC7 and CC11 events to set the volumes of the parts. I just did a quick test and this works here.. I just used single instance of TTs1, three tracks: Piano, guitar and strings, I was able to hear the three parts. I did not even have to add the CC events. It just worked.
  15. When a clip has a name assigned to it and the start of the clip is scrolled off the left side of the screen, name scrolls off with it. Is it possible that the name could remain visible at the top left of the visible part of the clip?
  16. Install the latest drivers for all of your hardware (using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates) If that does not work, then give us some detailed PC specs and we might be able to tell you where to go from there.
  17. Do you have latest drivers for the Focusrite 18i20 installed? In Cakewalk, what MIDI driver mode are you using (MME or UWP) Note: The Driver Mode setting can only be changed in Windows 10 and later, and when no projects are open. Have you tried connecting the Polybrute directly to the PC via Polybrute's built in USB port? Have you installed PolyBrute Connect? Are you using the latest PolyBrute Connect? https://www.arturia.com/support/downloads&manuals#polybrute-connect-1714186555
  18. Well, regardless, when I performed a reset without the subsequent scan (on a non production PC) , it cleared the VST plugin inventory in the registry and in Cakewalk (This manifest on a Cakewalk exit and restart) So, in my mind, the user guide and the reset dialogue box prevails. I am going to continue to mention the scan with the reset. We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
  19. Is that in the CbB manual (if so, link?) or is that one of those things you either know or you don’t? Further more, when you do click the RESET button, the dialogue that appears clearly states: “This will reset the configuration settings for all your VST plug-ins to defaults.VST plug-ins will be unavailable until a VST scan is performed” So, in light of what is in the CbB user guide, and the textual contents of this dialogue box, I will continue to recommend a VST Scan after the VST reset.
  20. I could not find where, in the CbB manual, that it says a scan is automatically performed as part of the reset. If this was the case, I would expect it to be here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=0x22B07 Yet the word “RESET” only occurs once on that page. Scrolling down, I see the following statement: “Reset. Click this button to remove all scanning records and settings from all your VST plug-ins. Use this button if you want to completely start over” It does not say that a scan is performed with the reset. Maybe I am not looking in the right place.....
  21. Have you tried a RESET then rescan?
  22. I temporarily loaded SAFEcompressor (64 bit) as a test. While the SAFEcompressor did not freeze on my system, the GUI did take a while to come up. (though it did look like it was going to crash) With the many alternatives available, with the issues I encountered with my brief test, I would be giving this plugin a wide birth. Even Cakewalk by Bandlab itself has built in compressors in the prochannel that would do the job. If you like the GUI feedback of that SAFEcompressor provides, Meldaproduction’s MCompressor may also be a suitable alternative as well. https://www.meldaproduction.com/MCompressor
  23. Hold down CTRL while moving node vertically. See http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.11.html#1292863

  25. These are awesome products. Just watch your CPU hit when that crowd size increases..... Freeze is your friend with this one.....
