According to Arturia’s website, all their synths require Windows 8.1+ or above..... so it looks like that’s a no. If you want to know for sure..... then install a trial of one of the instruments. Even if it does happen to install and appear to work and you run into issues, you will not get any support. Really, in this day and age, you really should be using Windows 10 or above (Many programs are now off limits to Windows 7 users)

Are you sure there are no effects on the master bus? What about the pro-channel for the master bus - any effects in there? You might have configured Cakewalk to add a default Bus Pro-channel configuration when a bus is created.

I simply edit the KBN files is a standard text editor. That being said, the only reason I have ever needed to edit the KBN files is to delete duplicate entries and crop up from time to time. These duplicate entries can prevent the intended binding from working. Other than that, CbB is really the best place to edit actual bindings. KBN files only contain codes anyway - The only human readable text in KBN files are where keys are bound to CALs and Studioware panel. All other functions are just numbers.

That’s good to know. (Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the changes) I uninstalled Edge Webview2 Runtime. Opened up CbB, Signed out from Bandlab (from Help menu) From CbB I then signed back onto Bandlab. As Firefox 99 Beta 5 is my default browser, this is what opened with the login challenge. I entered my Bandlab credentials and this was accepted and CbB signed in So I can now ditch Edge Webview2 Runtime and have Firefox as my default browser without it affecting my ability to sign into Bandlab from Cakewalk.

Some people way not wish to change their default browser to Edge. This is why the Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime is included with the Cakewalk install, so that Cakewalk can internally log on to Bandlab to activate. See:

That looks like a Windows issue rather than a Cakewalk issue. I have never had the issues that you have described. If you go Start + Run appwiz.cpl, is “Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime” listed there. This component is required for Cakewalk to handle logging on into BandLab to authorise without the need for BandLab assistant. This is installed along with Cakewalk by Bandlab since 2021.1

These prices makes me wonder if anyone ever buys them at MSRP

The uninstall information for many programs (including Cakewalk) is stored in the registry I think you have bigger issues if Windows 10 crashed and Cakewalk BandLab will no longer show up in the uninstall. You might want to see if you (or who ever you get to look at your PC) can find out the reason for the crash. It could be a hard drive on its way out. You can use the Windows System Event Viewer to check for hard drive issues. You might find other warning or error events there as well that might give you a clue. It could even be a faulty driver that crashed Windows You could attempt a system restore (Start Run rstrui). But, personally, I would want to sort out what caused the Windows 10 crash first before trying to uninstall and reinstall Cakewalk.

When ever I find a plugin that is just a single file (.DLL or .VST3), I simply place that file in a folder listed in Preferences | File |VST Settings > VST Scan paths. If it's a DLL file I place it in a VST2 path. If it's a VST3 file, I place it in a VST3 path (Which is usually C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3) Then I do a scan - either from the Preferences | File |VST Settings dialogue or from Cakewalk Plug-in Manager. Because I use Custom Plug-in Menu Layouts, I use the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager to place that plugin name (which I can always find) in my custom Plug-in Menu Layouts. For me, this works every single time.

I ditched Bandlab Assistant ages ago. It it no longer needed. Just use the web installer to install the vastly superior Cakewalk by Bandlab. https://downloads.bandlab.com/cakewalk/setup/CakewalkSetup.exe

One thing you might want to try is to download the beta drivers for the scarlet range. The release notes speciality mentions Cakewalk by Bandlab http://beta.focusrite.com I have a PC configured as per signature and I do not experience dropouts while recording.

In the LABS GUI: Are both sliders up? Is the MIDI Channel correct. Or does it work if MIDI Channel is set to “ANY” (Top and centre) Is LABS Volume up ((Top to the right)

Have you enabled EnableWin10DPIAwareness=1 in Cakewalk.ini ? This can be edited in Preferences | File | Initialisation File

Not a question, more of a heads up for those who use Sampletank 4 (any iteration) I think I have found an issue with version 4.17 of Sampletank 4 that could affect some projects. Here is what I believe to be the issue with 4.17 of Sampletank 4. For any patch that uses the Sampletank 4 engine, the up and down pitch bend ranges do not match what is actually dialled in. The actual range appears to be double what is dialled in. Dial in a range of 1 semi-tone, you get a range of 2. Dial in 5, you get a range of 10 and so on. It is also impossible to get an odd number pitch bend range. This issue does not affect any patch that uses the Sampletank 3 engine. This issue occurs in the Standalone version as well as the plug-in version So if you are 4.17 of Sampletank 4 and you have projects that use pitch bends and some notes seem out of tune. This could be the reason. I have reverted to, and will remain on, Sampletank 4.16 until this is resolved. I have also logged a ticket with IK Multimedia Support regarding this issue.

I have bound custom keystroke SHIFT+F to Process|Find/Change and, for me, this works. However, I do believe you. I too, from time to time, have found that when I have created a keybinding, it has not worked. I think this issue is caused by double-ups in the internal keybinding database. When a keybinding doesn't work, I first bind the offending keybinding to a CAL script (one with an easy name to remember) Then I export my bindings to two KBN files (so you have a unaltered copy for Justin) - these are normal text file. I then open one of the KBN file with a normal text editor and look for the instance of some of the text in the CAL Script name I used. There will be a number starting with Kx bound to the CAL script....... search for other instances of that same KX number. If they exist, then those are probably the duplicates causing the issue. Delete these lines so that the only one left is the one bound to the CAL script. Then reimport the KBN file that you just edited into CbB. Leave the unedited KBN file in case you need it later. Then do your originally intended key binding (SHIFT+F to “Resize and zoom.....”) There have been many times this has worked for me when I create a Key-binding that has not worked. If your keybinding are borked after doing this you can always import the second, unaltered, KBN file to CbB. Note: I offer the same level of warning here that I would offer when editing the registry - only do the above if you know exactly what you are doing.

Because the pasted controller data retains its original MIDI channel, it gets a new controller lane, but does not switch to that lane. I paste controller data between tracks all the time and have worked around this. Most of my MIDI projects comprise 16 tracks, with each MIDI track set to their respective MIDI channels. After I have done a paste, I select all (I have mapped the A key for this), then do a bounce to clips(I have mapped the B key for this). Because I have set RechannelMIDI=1 in the Cakewalk.ini file, when I do a bounce to clip, all MIDI channels in that track get rechannelled to match that of the given track. Then all controller events will display in the given lane because all the MIDI channels are the same. This has been my workflow for as long as I have used Cakewalk platinum and now Cakewalk by Bandlab.

On a PC as per my signature, I am currently on a project with 2 instances of Sampletank 4, 1 of AD2 and 1 of MODOBASS. Each of the Sampletank instances has 4 parts each. The MIDI tracks driving the Sampletank 4 parts are on MIDI Channel 1 to 8 respectively. The Bass MIDI track is on MIDI Channel 9, AD2's MIDI track is on MIDI Channel 10 I am not getting any of the symptoms that you describe. I am thinking there is a MIDI channel configuration somewhere. Meticulously go through all of your MIDI channels. One thing I do is make sure all MIDI tracks in a project have their MIDI channels specified rather than being set to “none” I am assuming you are on Sampletank 4.17
